Strange old man

Two days passed quickly after the incidence of Alex's awakening and the villagers were back to their usual selves, it wasn't that the hype died out because no one was talking about it so much like two days ago but it was because they had all returned to working on the field.

After being informed of their next plan, the villagers decided that they needed to expand the field to the tall bushes bordering it and the forest. Although people would still comment about the matter whenever they saw Alex.

Alex's life also did not change much after two days, he returned to working alongside the other kids of the village like before and the behavior of the other kids also did not change much.

The only changes that happened with him were his power going out of control occasionally and the other kids always drowning him with questions on how he awakened; they too also wanted to awaken an element but Alex had no answers to their questions as he was clueless as they were.

On this day, the villagers were busy clearing out the bush when they received an unexpected visitor.

Vroom!!!

The sound of the wind being blasted apart rang out, causing the villagers to stop whatever they were doing and look in the direction of the sound but their eyes widened in shock the instant they spotted the source of the sound.

A distance away from the field, a dazzling oval-shaped object could be seen flying through the air and was headed in the direction of the village. Even from a distance, the villagers could make out its exquisite features which they could not completely recognize.

The thing got closer and its size slowly increased till it was right above the people working on the field and stopped before slowly descending, its size was currently the size of a carriage as it stopped and hovered just a few centimeters before touching the ground.

The villagers were still staring at the object with wide eyes, their shock was so strong that it was almost taking form. This was because they recognized what the shiny object was and just how much it would cost a person to afford one that was this exquisite.

The thing in front of their eyes was without a doubt a transporter!

Transporters were a means of movement for people who lived in big kingdoms but not just anyone who lived in a big kingdom could afford them because even the cheapest one would usually cost hundreds of gold coins and only those from extremely rich families or mages could afford one.

But one thing that did not make sense to the villagers and made them believe that whoever was inside this transporter was an extraordinary figure was the fact that this transporter was actually flying in the air!

It was normal for a transporter to hover above the ground since they did not possess tires but were instead kept afloat by magic. It was a general knowledge that they could only hover a few centimeters above the ground, even the most expensive transporter could only hover a meter above the ground. They had never heard of or seen a transporter that could fly because only airships could fly and any airship was hundreds of times bigger than this transporter.

Wooom!!

The side of the transporter which happened to be the door of the transporter slid open revealing the inside that was just too beautiful and dazzling, an old man could be seen sitting inside the transporter with his hands on the controller that had a round shape.

The old man pressed a few buttons on the side of the controller before stepping out of the transporter as the door slid close behind him.

(Transporters are just cars without tires that hovers with the help of magic so I think I'll start calling them hover cars instead of transporters)

The old man looked to be in his early seventies, his face did not have wrinkles but was instead as healthy as those of men who were in their thirties and his back was as straight as a ruler. He had short black hair with a few strands of gray hair mixed in between, his eyes looking so sharp that they could scare beasts away.

He was wearing a pair of long black pants and a long black coat as he stood with a hand behind his waist, he excluded a dignified and domineering aura that gave the villagers a sense of an invisible pressure bearing down on them, causing them to move back subconsciously. The old man gave them the feeling of someone extremely important and powerful.

"Good thing I brought most of my things in my space ring back then" the old man suddenly muttered softly as his sharp eyes glanced over the faces of the villagers, they would slightly flinch whenever his eyes fell on them.

'Just who is this old man and why did he stop here?'

The same question rang in the heads of all the villagers as they stared at the old man vigilantly.

"So there are people living here? I almost missed it" the old man said as he started to move forward, his steps were just as majestic as those of wealthy people and mages in high positions.

But he had yet to step too far when a gust of wind blew over the place and the village head appeared on a wind trail. Wind trail was a wind spell that was used for moving.

"A mage apprentice?" The old man halted his steps at the arrival of a mage, he stared at the village head with a raised eyebrow and a slight look of surprise in his eyes.

Similarly, the village head also stared at the strange old man with a frown on his face.

" An archmage?" The village head muttered in a heavy voice. He felt so uncomfortable seeing someone who was four ranks higher than him intruding on his territory, and this person seemed to be from an extraordinary background at that. If he decides to do something bad, no one will be able to stop him.

'I hope that he's just passing by'

The village head sighed inwardly while praying in his heart.
