RAISING A PROTAGONIST

"Goodness, being the strongest is not as I expected at all. Everything and everyone are too weak and terrified. "My students are scared of me as well?" "Even powerful magic beasts die before I touch them!" "Hmm? Oh, he has the protagonist star but he is too hidden and might not shine. Hehehe, I'll groom this one and make him into the strongest too" Realizing that being the strongest comes with not only power and authority but extremely loneliness and unbearable boredom, vee fakes his death and travel to a far away land to live as a commoner. But just a few years after his retirement, his planet was invaded by a strong force that seek to conquer their home. But vee decides not to act this time and rather watch from the sideline while secretly helping someone else to become the main character in the darkest moment of their planet.

The villagers support

"And what is that?" The village head asked as everyone else also looked at Vee, waiting for his answer.

"Alex here has a rare element. Even in the Royal Magic Academy, people with rare elements can hardly number up to a thousand. Do you really think it is impossible for Alex to get on the ranking? And besides, the pressure there will help his talent blossom faster compared to him getting relaxed in just any academy.

Other kids from prominent families and powerful factions might already be ahead of him in terms of knowledge and other aspects but all these will help him get more serious and strive to catch up. I don't need to tell you how vital this can be for a mage, do I? He needs this to be his drive and bring out his talent. But that isn't all, getting into the Royal Magic Academy will help him make friends with others who can potentially be his connections and reliable allies in the future. Whatever we have to do is considered a small price compared to the benefits that await him"

By the time Vee was done with his explanation, the eyes of everyone except Alex were already glowing with realization, how come they did not think of all this in the first place?

" I agree with Vee, we really should do whatever it takes to get Alex into the Royal Magic Academy" Marcos, Alex's father, voiced his support. This was about his son after all and after so many gains had been placed in front of them, there was literally no way he was not going to support Vee.

" True, even if we have to work hard for many years. It will all be worth it if Alex can get into the academy and by then, it will all be up to him to make good use of the opportunity" The village head nodded in agreement.

"Although early awakening is more beneficial to a mage's growth, waiting a year or two would not hurt either. The least is that he would be behind his peers" Bretrato voiced his agreement in the matter and so the matter was concluded, everyone returned to their houses since it was already getting late and they were not going to sleep in the village head's home.

Agnes and Marcos were told by the village head to mentally prepare Alex for what's to come and to build a sense of responsibility in him so the kid did not waste the hard work of the villagers.

Of course, such things could not be rushed. They were prepared to do it slowly since a time limit of more than a year was still left before they would be able to send Alex to the academy.

That night was a very long night for Alex and his parents, the couple were unable to sleep as the news of Alex becoming a seedling filled them with so much excitement and joy that they wanted to scream and dance around the village all night long. But such actions were not appropriate, they could only contain the feeling inside their hearts which filled them with tickling sensations.

Alex was also the same as he rolled back and forth on his mat, unable to catch a wink of sleep. From the meeting earlier, he understood that the decision about him joining a magic academy had already been finalized and he was not just going to any academy, he was going to the Royal Magic Academy!

Hours passed as the night grew deeper and all Alex could think of was how his academy life would be and how he would be able to get stronger quickly enough so he could start earning money to help his village.

" I must do well in the academy and make everyone proud. I'll make enough money to move everyone to a bigger village and let them live a good life!" Was the last thought Alex had before he was finally snatched away by the alluring hands of slumber; it was already morning by the time he slept off and morning sleep was not something anyone could easily resist, especially when one was not serious about resisting it.

(Morning sleepiness really does hit differently, lol)

The sky was soon lit up by the rising sun and the villagers were all gradually coming out of their houses after a long night. It turned out that not only Alex's family found it difficult to sleep.

Marcos and Agnes did not wake Alex after seeing the bright smile plastered on his face even when asleep, they could easily tell that the kid was having a great dream related to the meeting they held yesterday.

Later in the day, the village head gathered everyone and broke the news to them even though they already knew, the exceptions being the children. He also told them of their decision regarding their discussion yesterday evening and how they planned to archive it.

The village head was prepared to face some objections and was ready to give reasons as to why they should comply but to his surprise, no one raised any objections as all the villagers agreed to their decision.

They all agreed that sending Alex to a magic academy was the best decision, even if it was the legendary Royal magic academy; so what If they would have to work twice as hard while keeping fewer provisions for a year or two? It was worth it to have a mage from their village. They all saw it as an investment.

The villagers' decision touched Alex and his parents so much that his father gave words of gratitude to the villagers while Agnes was already tearing up.

"The next academy test period is already too near and we won't be able to register Alex for it

Our goal is to gather at least ten gold coins before the registration next year" the village head said to the villagers.

They all nodded with serious expressions on their faces, most of them had never owned a gold coin before and knew that raising ten gold coins would be difficult but they were prepared for it.

And without anything else to be said, they all matched back to the field.
