RAISING A PROTAGONIST

"Goodness, being the strongest is not as I expected at all. Everything and everyone are too weak and terrified. "My students are scared of me as well?" "Even powerful magic beasts die before I touch them!" "Hmm? Oh, he has the protagonist star but he is too hidden and might not shine. Hehehe, I'll groom this one and make him into the strongest too" Realizing that being the strongest comes with not only power and authority but extremely loneliness and unbearable boredom, vee fakes his death and travel to a far away land to live as a commoner. But just a few years after his retirement, his planet was invaded by a strong force that seek to conquer their home. But vee decides not to act this time and rather watch from the sideline while secretly helping someone else to become the main character in the darkest moment of their planet.

Spacial class

The so-called map was almost like a painting of an entire district from a high altitude and each building and street was cleanly labeled to avoid getting lost. For example, Alex easily spotted the classrooms, lodges, halls, cafeterias, teacher's residents, and different facilities.

Not only that, there was also a small red dot in front of a building that was labeled 'registration building' which Alex believed was his present location and that red dot had to be the map that he was holding.

"Magical!"

Alex could not help but gasp, marveling at the use of magic in such a form.

With this, it was practically impossible for someone to get lost in this place unless one lost their map.

"Impressed, right? We should go look for our lodges now, I'm tired as hell" Vee said from Alex's side, startling him. He had not noticed Vee got so close to him.

"Hahaha, you look so pale, did I scare you that much?" Vee laughed at Alex's expression.

"So much for someone who claimed to be tired," Alex hissed in response before bringing out his student card while still holding the map.

On the card was a mini portrait of him which he did not know when it was taken and attributed to magic, his age, gender, elements, mage rank( his rank on the card was still at the seedling rank), his lodge number, and class.

Alex could understand his rank on the card but he felt the class was a bit strange because it was a plain: special class, written on it.

He had expected something like class 1 or class A.

"Hey, I got into the special class too. Looks like it's for those with peak grade talents" Vee said after seeing Alex's student card. After all, that was the only thing that the two of them had in common except for their hair and eye color of course.

Alex silently agreed with what Vee said, they would find out in two days anyway.

"Hey, what's your lodge number?" Alex suddenly asked after seeing the number written on his card.

Lodge: Area 7, block 105.

Vee did not answer and simply handed his student card to Alex for him to see for himself, a sly grin formed on his lips which he hid from Alex.

"What the???!" Alex exclaimed upon seeing the things written on Vee's student card.

Lodge: Area 7, block 105.

They were in the same lodge!

"Enough time wasting, let's go check out our lodge!" Vee voiced out and dragged Alex along while following the direction of the map. They had only gone some distance when they realized that they had left the things that they brought with them at the entrance of the registration building so they quickly went back, hoping to still find them.

Luckily, it appeared that the other students took the pride of being mages very seriously and did not bother to even move the things they had forgotten.

They carried their things and went in search of Area 7.

The academy was really large, even larger than Alex had imagined. Distances from one location to another were unlike how it was on the map, they had walked for over an hour but still had not reached the lodge Area yet.

At times, they would see a few hover cars passing by them while carrying other students.

Not being able to take it anymore since Alex was completely exhausted after walking for more than one hour while dragging his bags around and sweating profusely, he decided to stop a passing hover car to take them to lodge Area 7. They were charged ten silver coins which Alex paid after trying to bargain with the driver but failed in reducing the price.

"So expensive! I have to get used to using my legs more" Alex said grumpily as he sat in the back seat of the hover car with Vee, he refused to smile all through the ride even though this was his first time riding in a hover car. His first two experiences with hover cars could be said to be pitiful.

"Don't worry, you're rich enough. Ten silver coins won't kill you" Vee said but his face was clearly showing that he was on the verge of exploding with laughter.

"Don't talk to me!" Alex snapped at him.

"Come on, you're a mage and should not be bothered about how you spend"

"Don't touch me!"

"Listen, you can make much more in the future"

"Go away from me!"

"Okay, I'll pay you half when we drop"

"Alright"

"Bwahahaha, you really believe that? I've got nothing on me, how about I run errands to pay back"

"You!!!"

The two bickered in the hover car all through the ride which was another thirty minutes. Alex only calmed down after realizing that the ten silver coins he paid were worth the distance because the speed of the hover car was really fast yet it had taken another thirty minutes to reach lodge Area 7! How long would they have spent if they had decided to really walk all the way?

"Told you the money was alright" Vee yawned from the side with a 'I told you' expression on his face.

Alex just rolled his eyes in response thinking 'And how would you have known? You were simply trying to piss me off!'

Both of them returned their focus to the location that they had been brought to, in front of them was a small gate attached to a long white fence that stretched far into the distance and was segmented by other gates that were similar to the one in front of them.

The only difference between the gates was what was written on them, the gate in front of them had the words Area 7 written on it.

It was already open by the time the two got here which meant that other students who would be leaving here along with them had arrived already.

The both of them entered with their bags and what welcomed their eyes were rows of bungalows that were separated by the wide road in the middle.
