There are also other various definitions which you can find in your textbook so I'll not talk about them but one thing that all of these definitions have in common…is the cosmos" Bree looked in Alex's direction at the last part of her words, the students were busy taking notes of what she was saying as they were also appearing on the board behind her so only a few of them turned to look at Alex when the cosmos was mentioned.

" Now, I know this would be another question in your mind. What is the cosmos?" Bree looked away from Alex and continued her explanation.

" The cosmos is the origin or basic form of mana and the elements. So in other words, true magic is when a person gains access to the basic form of the elements or awakens the origin of mana that was in their soul.

This is why even those who are not yet seedlings and have not shown signs of awakening are able to awaken during their first awakening while some fail.

According to various definitions, we can tell that those who awaken without becoming seedlings are those who gain access to the basic form of mana while those who already showed signs of awakening and become seedlings are those who awakened the elements hidden in their souls.

And as for why many people fail during their awakening or take a lot of attempts before successfully awakening, can anyone take a guess?" Bree questioned as her eyes roamed the faces of the students before stopping on Vee.

The class fell silent for a brief moment as the students fell into thoughts, cracking their brains to search for answers to the question.

But of course, there was someone who was not thinking of an answer at all since he already knew the answer but he was pretending to be in serious thought just like the other kids. And this person was obviously Vee, one could see him looking upward with a finger on his lips as if he was thinking of an answer but he was not.

"This is most likely the result of them not being able to contact the basic form of mana during the previous attempts or because the cosmos deemed them unworthy of its powers and refused to acknowledge them," Gustavo said unhurriedly with a calm expression on his face, he seemed oddly confident about his answer.

"Correct, 20 points for giving the exact answer. You can take your seat" Bree said expressionlessly as she looked back at the textbook.

Gustavo nodded and took his seat under the envious gaze of some of the students, he had after all gotten 20 points for free, too.

"This shows that some of you have already gained some basic knowledge before coming here or you at least study" Bree said as she flipped over the page on the textbook.

We already know what magic is about, which is awakening the origin or getting recognized by the cosmos. So this topic, introduction to magic, will help you all understand more about what magic is.

Firstly, we are going to talk about mana" Bree said as the word mana appeared in bold text on the board and other words began to appear in smaller sizes on the board which the students started to copy into their notebooks while listening to her voice.

" As we might all already know, mana is the medium through which a mage can use magic as well as the special substance that we mages can feel and absorb to become stronger. But what you lots do not know is that mana does more than that, mana has some versatile uses that appear very simple but one might not even think about it.

An example is being able to awaken the brain which in other words, is to increase a mage's intelligence.

Aside from making a mage get stronger and increase various aspects of a mage's body such as stamina, strength, and defense, mana also affects the brain.

Now most of you will be confused as to how mana can do such a thing and why you did not know about this before, I'll tell you right now.

Some of you, if not most of you, might not have been able to attend pre-learning classes and had not gotten any educational aid before coming here. But have you ever wondered why you were able to understand the meaning of these words and why you were able to easily read what was in the textbook?"
