Book 1: Slaughter Daoist / Chapter 6 – 3rd Mission

The next day has come.

The first thing came to Ken was his new mission.

[Ding! Mission 3: Kill 10 creatures within 21 days!

Rewards: Slaughter Sword Technique (World Grade Technique – 30 stages)]

After reading the mission details, Ken was surprised by the reward! "A sword technique and a world grade at that!" He blurted out.

Thinking of this fortunate encounter with his master, he immediately felt blessed. He felt God must have seen his struggles in life and gave him another chance.

"Well, you can think of it that way, but you can be wrong." His master said.

Ken felt weird when he heard his master say those words, it killed his vibe. "If there's a God in this world, master, are you a God yourself?"

"I don't know my ignorant disciple. If I'm a God, I would still be alive right now, but I'm not. So I can't consider myself a God. **Lies**". His master answered.

"But are there Gods in this world? Or in heaven?" Ken added after nodding to his master's answer.

"Gods are creatures, just like you and the populace of this world. They are considered Gods cause they got the bigger fists. They have higher cultivation, so if you reached the same level as them, you can be a God yourself." His master said.

"Then, I'll work hard to be that master. I will be that person. Be a God." Ken looked up in the sky with eyes so determined one can see the fire in them.

James, Ken's master, noticed it and he already knows the reason why. His disciple's mother. It's the sole reason why Ken was determined to get stronger.

After looking up in the sky, Ken immediately prepared and hunted his meal for the day and continue to improve his cultivation level.

[Reward Slaughter Sword Technique (World Grade Technique – 30 stages)!]

It's the first day and since the loophole was found, Ken immediately finished the mission assigned to him by his master by killing insects, demonic monsters, and his meal and got the reward right off the bat!

And when Ken opened the crystal containing the technique, he was quickly transported to a virtual space. There he saw a man with a cold expression on his face.

Within seconds, he felt the sinister aura going out of the man's body. It enlarged to the point where it reached Ken and it suffocated him. He mustered all the strength he had and focused on observing the man.

And after experiencing the sinister aura, he saw the man pull out his sword and swung it vertically. A sword light came out of the slash made by the man and it reached him. Ken felt so scared at the moment the sword strike reached him, he immediately closed his eyes.

Within seconds, he was already back at the place where he stood. The Forest's sound came back to his ears.

"Wh-what." He was shocked. He looked at the crystal-like it was the scariest object he ever held.

"That, my disciple, is the 1st stage of the technique and you need to learn that first in order to get on to the next stage." His master said.

"Ho-how master!? That's impossible! That's the 1st stage already!? I-" Ken could not believe that the scene, he just experienced was only the first stage of the technique. How can he learn that in a short amount of time!?

"Well, my foolish disciple, you just need to master the first stage of your body technique in order to emulate the aura you just experienced. Once you easily control that, the first stage of the sword technique will be easier for you to master." His master answered.

"Sigh." Ken was disappointed. He thought he can master the technique right away, but contrary to that expectation, it would be next to impossible to learn the two techniques' first stages fast.

"Cultivate my foolish disciple, you have time, use that and maximize it. That's the only way you can reach the top. Like I did." His master added, seeing his disciple's disappointing figure.

"Where is my daughter!?" The angry woman spoke.

"Your highness, the wyvern came back alone. When our tamer asked the wyvern about the princess, it said that it was killed by his highness prince Ken." The servant said while bowing.

"What did you just say? My… my… my sweetheart is dead!? Noooo!!!!!" The woman stood up when she heard the news and quickly pulled her servant's sword in its waist and slashed the servant's neck. Blood gushed out of its severed neck and head.

"Clean this up!" She commanded.

The other servants quickly moved and cleaned up the area.

"Grrrr! I can't join the competition for the throne and I can't assist my children in the open but I can do that secretly! Come here!" She spoke and a shadow appeared at her back.

"Kill the prince!" she said and added, " Discretely!"

"Yes, your highness!" The shadow spoke and faded.

"You will die you, bastard child!" The woman sat and cursed Ken.

It's been 10 days since Ken started to cultivate the 1st stage of his body technique and improvements were already showing when he tries to copy the aura of the man he saw in the crystal. Before the aura he tries to show was uncontrollable and it needed his master's assistance to make him stable.

After 10 days, he can already control it quite easily without getting out of control, but still for a few moments only. And as Ken's master said, even with a few moments, it will be helpful to him in emergency situations.

And so, after making himself accustomed to the sinister aura repeatedly, he started to practice the aura with the sword and continuously slashed along with the aura.

After fifteen attempts, he will be completely dried up of energy and for this, his master quickly replenished him every time.

For this reason, he has been practicing the two techniques non-stop. If someone did this, they might have died of the pain already or have gone insane consumed by the sinister aura.

James, Ken's master, saw this behavior and applaud his disciple for being relentless and consistent. Only with this quality will make his disciple grow up and get stronger.

He continuously observed Ken's progress as the days goes by as Ken reached the limit of his cultivation which only needed a little push to step into Stage 8 of Mortal Realm.

In the area where Ken killed his sister, ten shadows appeared and they observed the surrounding.

"It's been weeks already and he may be got far away from here, so-" A shadow spoke.

"No. See here." Another shadow spoke and pointed to footsteps in the ground. "He may still be within the forest. Let's follow the steps."

"Yes, we'll follow it." Another shadow spoke which seems to be the leader.

"Yes!" the other shadows answered in unison.

They quickly faded from the location they were standing and like some ninjas, they jumped branches to branches of each tree until they felt some aura coming straight ahead.

"There's an aura in front! Be careful and check the surroundings if that person has companions!" The leader commanded.

The other nine shadows immediately separated from each other and dispersed. The leader quickly jumped toward the said aura, then, he saw Ken. Sitting and seems to be practicing some technique. The leader felt the sinister aura coming from Ken's body.

"This aura, how come he has this?" The leader felt curious as he knew that Ken, the 99th prince of the kingdom never cultivated such techniques before.

"No matter what, we must kill him! If he grew stronger and if he practiced this kind of technique to perfection, I can't fathom what will happen to the kingdom and to her highness!" The leader said and without waiting, he signaled his team to quickly attack Ken.

All 10 of them were at Stage 10 of Mortal Realm and they knew that Ken was only an ant with Stage 6 of Mortal Realm so they were confident that they can finish the mission quickly.

However, when all of them got to 1-meter distance, Ken felt them, and added to his master's warning, and quickly opened his eyes and showed its coldness and fierceness at the same time.

He stood up from his sitting position and within seconds, all 10 shadows pulled their swords going to slash them all toward Ken.

Ken's disposition was calm and the leader noticed it. And after a few seconds, the sinister aura enveloped Ken with his hands holding his sword's handle.

The leader immediately felt danger. "This- Retrea-!" The leader wanted all of them to retreat, but their position was already near Ken and they can't stop the momentum.

Ken, without second thoughts, released all of his energy and pulled his sword for a single slash attack.

The sword strike released a circular sword light and went towards the 10 shadows. It blinded the shadows and the light faded, they looked at Ken and to the other shadows.

"What happened!?" The leader spoke in surprise, but after that, they noticed their upper and lower bodies slowly separated.

"Nooooo!!!!" all of them knew what was going on already. They were cut off by Ken's attack. They were going to die.

They all dropped. All of them were cut into two parts. The blood flowed to the ground. The smell of death spread within the surrounding.

Ken walked slowly towards the leader and pointed his sword in its head.

"W-wait! I know who wanted to kill you!" The leader spoke hardly.

Ken only looked at him and quickly pierced the sword in his head. He died. One by one, each shadow was pierced the same in their heads.

All of them were dead. No more survivors.

Ken, on the other hand, knew that no danger lurks anymore so he passed out.

"Hehe, good God, what a talent!" James said.
