Book 1: Slaughter Daoist / Chapter 5 – Loophole

The next day has come.

Ken woke up from his slumber from the dirt he used to camouflage himself. He was still not 100% sure that no one will come after him after what he did to his sister. There could be someone after him as he assumed the mother of his sister will come after him.

Better be safer than nothing.

As he woke up, he immediately washed his body at the nearby river and prepared to hunt his meal. During the past few days, he made some improvised bow and arrow so he took them and walked within the forest's deep.

After a few moments, he heard a sound. A footstep. And it goes on and on. He then followed the sound while trying to minimize the sound of his own steps. Hiding in the tree's body, he found the target. It was a demonic bear.

He gazed at the bear and assessed its power. After scanning using his energy, he found out that it was a mortal realm stage 6 demonic bear so he pulled up his self-created bow and arrow and aimed at the bear.

He knew that it won't do much damage, but with his energy input enveloping the arrow, it can still make some distraction for the bear.

He waited.

The bear stood still at its location and when it did, Ken immediately took the opportunity and released the arrow. Afterward, he pulled another one and another one after another until his arrows were empty.

As the speed of these arrows came one after another, it pierced the bear again and again. All of the arrows hit the bear. Within the moment the arrows pierced the monster, Ken was already at its back swinging down toward its neck.

*chop!*

With a *swish* sound, the bear's neck was cut out and its head flew out of its body. Blood was spurting out from the cut-out neck and the body slammed the ground.

Ken confirmed that no one was in his surroundings, he immediately checked the bear's body and cut out its chest. There, he saw a black bead with a size of a fist. It's the demonic core.

"Lucky!" Ken rejoiced. It's rare that there would be demonic cores for some mortal realm beast.

During this time a sound alarmed him. The virtual board appeared again and provided the words:

[Ding! Congratulations! You've killed 1 creature! 1/2 Creatures Killed]

This surprised Ken. "What!? So, it's not only humans? I can also kill demonic beasts and it will count? Then! I must find another beast! This is great!"

Then a great idea came to him. Ken asked his master. "Master! If I killed an ant or insect, will it count?"

"Yes, my dear disciple." Nameless Daoist confirmed.

"Then..." When he heard his master confirm and affirmed his suspicion, he immediately spread out his energy to detect any life forms in his vicinity, and there it goes, he found an insect!

"There you are! Kill!" He jumped out from the location where he killed the bear and he swung his sword towards a small beetle in the tree.

*Sshhhlooppp!*

The beetle was sliced in half.

[Ding! Congratulations! You've killed 1 creature! 2/2 Creatures Killed!]

[Ding! Congratulations! You've completed the mission!]

[Reward Asura Body Cultivation technique (World Grade – 10 stages) has been added to your storage!]

Ken was amazed of this reward he immediately pulled out the crystal containing the technique and when he got it in his hands, he used his energy and input it in the crystal. Instantly, information was injected into his mind and since this was a World Grade Technique, Ken was immediately spent and his energy has become empty.

He lost consciousness afterward.

"Loopholes, well, I did that intentionally. He got the talent, though so it's all worth it. Old friend, after countless years, here's your successor! Ahahaha! I hope you're laughing there!" James thought and added, "Ah, my stupid disciple, not asking his master, he took the matter into his hands and used his energy to read the technique. Dumbass. Anyways! Let me replenish that spent energy then." Then, waved his right hand. Energy flew out of him and immediately transferred into Ken's body.

A whole day has passed and another morning came. The chirp of birds met Ken's senses as he was kind of groggy from what happened before when he lost consciousness. Then, a headache came to him. He released crazy roars as the pain intensified as time goes on and after an hour, the pain subsided.

Ken, at this point, has been mentally tired already. However, the information has been plastered to him already and when he scoured the information he received, he laughed.

"So that's the world grade technique!? How awesome!" Ken blurted out while drenched in sweat. He forgot the pain he just experienced and laughed out of joy for his luck!

"Mother!" Feeling sentimental, Ken caressed the ring.

At this moment, Ken was so thankful he had this fortuitous encounter in his life! He never thought he would have this and he did!

While basking from his joy, his master said, "Now, start cultivating the technique and don't waste time. You still have 12 days till' the next mission! Now sit!"

"Oh! Right! I need to get strong ASAP!" Ken added.

He sat and followed the instruction of the first stage of the technique. He guided his energy as to what the technique said and after a few minutes of doing it, changes emerged in Ken's energy flow and body strength.

"What! This…" Ken was surprised at what happened to him.

His body became a bit muscular. Quite different from a normal 10-year-old kid and his height has changed as well. Now, his height has reached a staggering 1.8 meters!

His normal view has changed as well!

"Now… now… don't be surprised. You're cultivating a top-grade technique so continue cultivating it until you hit the bottleneck!" His master said.

"A-alright master!" Ken followed and continued to sit and followed the first stage of the technique to its perfection.

A week passed.

There a man can be seen seated in the middle of a forest and surprisingly, no demonic beast can be seen. The man's energy was overflowing the area as well and the aura released was kind of sinister.

"Now, don't let the aura overtake and control!" The voice said.

"Yes, master!" The man said.

This was Ken, but his body has changed a lot after 9 days and if someone knows him, saw his changes, they would definitely not think it was Ken Ping! The changes were so large it's mind-boggling!

However, since he was practicing the Asura Body Technique, the Asura energy was overflowing into him and as a Mortal Realm rank person, Ken was unable to personally suppress the killing intent the technique had so his master helped him suppress it and let him get used to the killing intent.

"Ken, you must improve your mentality. Follow the guide of the technique, but never let the technique consume you. You, on the other hand, must consume the technique instead." His master said.

Ken nodded and steeled through the days he cultivated the technique. He gritted as he knew this was his only chance, he had to get with the strength he needs to avenge his mother as well as to live through the current ordeal he has.

5 days passed and it was the last day of the mission.

"Tomorrow is the next mission!" A man that looked like in his 20's said. This was Ken.

His body hasn't changed in the last 5 days; however, his aura's quality and intensity can be felt in his surroundings. It's cold. It's sinister, but all of it was controlled.

He walked within the forest and hunted a demonic beast to eat. As he hunted, his movements were already different from 14 days ago. Totally different. His movements were fast and calculated. His speed was faster than any normal Mortal Realm expert. His muscles were so firm and defined.

And within seconds, he already reached his target and pulled out his sword. Another moment, it sliced through the demonic wolf's body cutting it in half and although Ken's cultivation level was still at the peak of the seventh stage of the Mortal Realm, his power has passed the normal Mortal Realm's rank.

The demonic wolf was at the tenth stage of the mortal realm!

Ken, after killing the wolf, did not rejoice. His master already told him about these changes in him and what to expect. His eyes were stone cold gazing at the demonic wolf, then waved his hands, and the wolf's corpse vanished. It was inserted into his storage ring.

Still, the killing intent was there and Ken immediately focused. "Control!"

"Yes, control it Ken, if you can control it, you can then unleash it when you release the full power of your cultivation. Control your emotion and not let the killing intent take over when you don't need to and that's the key for you to be able to kill efficiently." His master said.

Ken nodded and took his master's words to heart.
