Sky city

(-4:21 PM/ Current location: Southwest of Impala Forest-)

A group of men wearing suits saw Mordred's triumph over the Maddened Three horned Wolf.

Inside that group, a man with a red strap on his arm opened his cell phone and called.

[Man in a suit: We found him, Lord Charles. Should we bring him back immediately?]

[Charles: Is he out cold?]

[Man in a suit: Yes my Lord. He is out cold and with large wounds.]

[Charles: Bring him to a hospital. I need him alive.]

[Man in a suit: Yes Lord Charles.]

(-Meanwhile at the Town hall-)

(-Feb 27, 2061/ 2:45 PM/ Current location: Town hall meeting room-)

Old keeper walks inside the meeting room to find that no one is there but one man sitting down. What he saw shocked him.

He did not expect someone so powerful and charismatic to be in a small town of Impala. His eyes like emeralds, his black hair swept-back and his hands locked together, imitating a secretive plotter.

Although he is over 50 years old, his complexion remained young and intimidating.

Old keeper kneels immediately after seeing him and asks.

[Old Keeper: Not to be rude but why are you here Lord Charles?]

The man spoke with the voice of a businessman. Clearly he's not here to relive old memories.

[Charles: Nothing too serious. I am simply here to adopt a child in your orphanage.]

[Old Keeper: Who is it my Lord?]

[Charles: A child that can't use magic.]

(-1 day later.-)

(-February 28, 2061/ 3:01 PM/Current location: Orphanage office-)

Mordred is sitting on the couch while Old Keeper is sitting on his office chair.

[Orphan keeper: Congratulations Mordred. Someone is here to adopt you. He'll be coming shortly so let's talk for a moment.]

[Mordred: What are we gonna talk about then?]

[Orphan Keeper: How did you defeat a B-class monster? Did someone come to assist you or did you do it yourself?]

What should I do here? This might lead to a bad end. Let's bluff for now.

[Mordred: I didn't, some group of hunters came and saved me.]

[Orphan Keeper: Lies. Don't underestimate me, Mordred. I was once a hunter. If there were a group of hunters then why does the field that you fought in have the same foot marks on the ground? It should be more and not be repeated. Stop lying or else I will scold you.]

He got me good. I don't have an excuse for that.

[Mordred: Alright I'm sorry. I'll go clean. I defeated the Three horned wolf.]

[Orphanage keeper: With what?]

[Mordred: Magic.]

The orphanage keeper's eyes lit up.

[Orphanage keeper: I thought you couldn't use magic.]

[Mordred: It wasn't my own magic. The moment my hand touched the Wolf's magic attack, it's intensity doubled and was flung back at it like a dynamite. It's like my body rejects magic.]

[Orphanage Keeper: I never expected that kind of phenomenon. Is that how the new generations are? It might be a new trait. To reverse the flow of the magic and double the intensity of it. You're practically invincible with that power.]

Mordred changes the subject.

[Mordred: What kind of person will be adopting me by the way?]

[Orphanage keeper: He is someone very powerful. Perhaps even the strongest. He is well known for his unique land.]

[Mordred: Unique land?]

The doorbell rings.

It might be the person who will adopt me.

[Orphanage keeper: Speak of the devil. I'm gonna get that.]

Mordred walks up to the desk of the Orphanage keeper.

He saw a picture of the Orphanage keeper with a man that had silky, swept-back dark hair and green eyes with guns in the background.

Mordred inches close to take a good look.

[Mordred: Looks like a harem protagonist. I wonder how many women are in his harem.]

[????: Who has a Harem?]

The same man with swept-back hair who looks irritated is behind Mordred.

The Orphanage keeper introduces him.

[Orphanage keeper: Mordred, this man is the one who will adopt you. His name is Charles V. Maximus.]

[Mordred: Nice to meet you. My name is Mordred.]

[Charles: Likewise.]

[Mordred: Weird, you have a picture of him with you on your desk. Are you perhaps acquainted in some way?]

[Charles: We are. He's an old war friend of mine.]

Did he know what happened?

He must have laid some spies inside the orphanage.

If that's the case then he must be finding someone with extraordinary abilities.

I'll comply for now.

[Charles: Do you want me to be your guardian? The choice is yours.]

Now, why would he? Nevermind that.

[Mordred: I want you to be your guardian.]

[Charles: I guess that's settled. Follow me then.]

Mordred is taken to a very luxurious car that is parked beside the Orphanage. One of the men in a black suit opened the door for Mordred.

He went in and sat down.

Charles sits on the opposite end.

The car started and drove away.

My curiosity is acting up. Why me? When there are others.

[Mordred: I have a question.]

[Charles: Ask away.]

[Mordred: Why did you choose me? There are others who are better than me in the Orphanage.]

[Charles: I have other reasons to choose you. I didn't choose you because of the B-rank wolf subjugation.]

So you did have spies.

[Mordred: What is "That" reason?]

[Charles: We can talk about "That" reason once we get home.]

Home eh? This time it's not the orphanage.

The driver drove through a tunnel and up the mountain.

We reached the top of the mountain.

Charles and his bodyguards walked out of the vehicle while I was left alone inside.

All of them look up to the untainted blue sky.

Charles asks his bodyguards.

[Charles: Is it here yet?]

[Bodyguard: It's almost here my Lord.]

Mordred heard their conversation.

What's gonna come here anyway?

Don't tell me!

it's the

A flying city, Slowly revealing itself above the mountain. On the bottom of the city is a large Mana crystal that stores near infinite amounts of magical energy.

[Charles: Alright, activate the Spatial Displacement Device.]

[Bodyguard: Yes my Lord.]

The bodyguard ran back to the car.

He pressed a button from the front seat. The car formed a dome-shaped barrier that covered it.

What is happening?

A bright flash of light blinded me.

The next I knew, I was at the center of a town. Beastmen, Elves, Humans, Lizardmen, and many more are seen by Mordred's eyes.

Charles and his bodyguards went inside the car.

It started to move and drove.

While the car is driving to the location. Me and Charles talked to each other.

[Mordred: Where are we?]

[Charles: We are in the Sky city Trauzagaien.]

Mordred became dumbfounded

[Mordred: We're in the country that used to be called the legendary "Floating fortress"?]

[Charles: Correct.]

And I'm probably talking to a noble of this country.

[Mordred: My God I'm lucky.]

[Charles: Once we get back home, I will tell you why I chose you.]

The car arrived at its desired location. All of us went out of the car and into the mansion.

Charles made a fist with his hands until we reached his home office.

I got to see what a Nobleman's home would be.

He reaches the desired destination.

We went inside and saw an extravagant display of royal designs, paintings, furniture, and many more.

We went inside the room where Charles did his business.

He told his bodyguards to stay out of the room.

Once inside, the look of Charles's face became sentimental.

He sat down with his hands locked together and Mordred standing in front of him.

[Charles: Mordred. You are a failed product.]
