Arche Eeb Rile Furt

"It's very simple, we will leave Arwintar in two days, if you want to take the deal, then be at the West gate before night falls."

"It is now your decision to make..."

The woman said before disappearing from her sight.

She, a young woman in her adolescence with a petite build, short bob-cut blonde hair with straight bangs, blue eyes, and an almost doll-like beauty, was called Arche Eeb Rile Furt and she was given a deal by a person she met for the first time.

A deal for, which she would get what she wanted most, a new life for her innocent little sisters and herself.

But...

'What do I need to pay for this?'

This question hung in her mind like a virus, her dream was right in front of her but that virus...

"No calm down Arche... you don't know that woman or where she came from... how could I know that what she said was the truth?"

She spoke to herself, as she continued to stand in the lone dark alley.

It wasn't a problem to speak with herself here, the buildings here were all magnificent from the outside, but nearly all were empty.

The reason was simple, when the bloody Emperor took over, he stripped many of the nobles of their status and those people couldn't pay the necessary amount to keep these homes.

Her own family was also one of them, her parents though never accepted this, continuing to live their luxurious lifestyle, while paying more and more debts.

Now, she is a young woman in her adolescent years, who has already become an experienced worker, being part of a group and going on quests as a mage with them.

All so that she could get some money into their pockets and somehow give her lovely little sisters a new life one day.

But her father and mother just continued to amount debt after debt.

"But I can't continue like this..."

She needed to get her sisters out of that home, they couldn't continue to live like this, they needed to get out of this circle of never-ending debts.

One of her biggest fears was that one day she wouldn't be able to come back and her father would sell her lovely little sisters.

"But this woman..." Remembering where she had seen the woman before, Arche shuddered all over.

Today she had seen something she will never forget.

Arche had always believed that she wasn't weak, of course, she wasn't strong either, but together with the team, they would be on equal terms to Mythril-ranked adventurer teams.

But that person... that man who this girl was with... although she couldn't see any man with her talent inside him, this man treated monster like sheep in a slaughterhouse.

Just thinking about this, had her whole back drenched in cold sweat.

Shaking her head, she tried her best to calm herself down.

"I should go home..."

She tried her best to shake off this feeling of horror, deciding to walk home first and think more about all of this, she finally walked out of the dark alley.

Reaching her home, darkness had already taken over the house as none of the magic lights were left on.

Opening the door, she entered slowly with heavy steps.

On normal days she would never come back so late in the night, but after watching the fight in the Grand Arena with her team members, they had gone and spent a long time just talking about it.

Each one of them was more horrified than the others.

Now she had already missed the time to read stories for her little sisters, before sending them off to sleep.

"Still let's go and see them..."

Walking up the stairs, towards the second floor, she reached the door to the room of her sisters.

Opening the door slowly and carefully, she sneaks into the room, trying not to wake the two little girls.

Entering the room, she found the two little girls who seemed like small versions of herself, even in the way they had their hair, sleeping silently in their room.

"Kuuderika... Ureirika..." She walked over to each and whispered their name before planting a small kiss on the girls' heads, as she muttered their names.

Gloom and uncertainty clouded her expression, "What should I do?"

She didn't leave the room but instead sat down on the inside of the door leaning with her back against it, gazing through the window from a distance while losing herself in her thoughts.

'What should I do?'

'Do I need to do this?'

'But I know nothing about them...'

'Can I even trust them?'

'Does it matter?'

'Would I be worthy, to be deceived by such people?'

'Couldn't they use to take me away by force?'

"What do I even have besides these eyes, that could be interesting for anyone...?"

She mumbled to herself, as she held one hand over her eyes.

"I mean besides this... there is nothing I could offer to anyone..."

Her talent, being able to see Mana in human bodies, was the only thing she could come up with, which could be something that interests people.

After all, the only other person she knew who had the same talent, was the Imperial Court Wizard Fluder Paradyne, her former teacher.

"Is it this...?"

She didn't know any other possibility.

"But... it doesn't feel right..."

"Also, will they just leave me alone if I don't go with them?"

She had a feeling that the moment she rejected the offer, something terrible would happen to her.

Something she could never let happen, because she knew what would become of her sisters if she were to disappear.

"So do I have a choice?" a self-mocking smile appeared on her face, "Two days..."

Dōji sat in their room in the inn, he had put out the lights and sat under the moonlight shining through the open window, as he waited for the return of Kiyomi.

When Kiyomi finally came, she seemed to be in a rather good mood.

"My Lord I am back!" She entered the room and greeted him, before coming close and while taking a knee started her report, without Dōji even asking for it.

"I have fulfilled your orders, neither did I reveal our identities nor our purpose. I just told her what she could get and nothing more."

Kiyomi seemed to be very cheerful after fulfilling her Lord's orders while doing something that was following her desire.

But Dōji seems to have other plans, than leaving her in a good mood.

"Good. Kiyomi, I have more orders for you."

Kiyomi in her cheerful mood, didn't realize the serious mood change, that Dōji seemed to have right now.

"Of course Lord, I am your sword and I will always follow the Lord's orders."

Doji nodded and then continued.

"If the girl doesn't take your kindness, then you will catch her alive and we will take her back to Nazarick for Lord Ainz as a test subject."

The words made Kiyomi stiffen up completely, her cheerfulness was replaced by confusion.

"Lord? What did you order?"

Dōji's gaze turned serious as he looked directly into Kiyomi's eyes, "Did I not explain enough?"

"If this girl, who you want to take to Carne and help her escape from her family, doesn't appreciate your Kindness. Then she does not deserve to live under the sun anymore..."

The words spoken by her Lord combined with the gaze he was giving her, made Kiyomi shudder all over, but she still asked.

"My Lord, didn't you say it was her choice if she wanted to come with us or not?"

Kiyomi was now really frightened, she had thought she could help someone, but now it seemed like she brought disaster to this person.

"Of course, it is her choice... her choice if she wants to live and just talk or if she wants to become a test subject for Lord Ainz's experiments."

The gaze of Dōji grew heavier and there was a trace of murderous intent in it as he asked, "Do you think that the well-being of an insignificant lifeform such as a human is more important than the experiments of our Lord?"

The words made Kiyomi tremble all over and she prostrated herself onto the ground, "I apologize my Lord, but I don't understand for what kind of Experiment our Lord could use this girl..."

"So you still doubt..." Dōji's murderous intent grew, "Kiyomi... you should understand very well that you have no right to doubt our Lord."

Kiyomi regretted the words she spoke, she didn't think about what she said at all, but just voiced her doubts, something that wasn't allowed in Nazarick.

"Please take the life of this useless servant Lord Dōji... I don't deserve to serve under the last Supreme Being."

She was already crying, understanding fully that what she had done just now, would warrant nothing else but death as a punishment.

"Haaaa..." letting out a heavy sigh, Doji took back the killing intent and held his face, "Kiyomi... you need to learn what is your priority..."

Kiyomi groveling on the ground was stunned, "My Lord?"

Dōji didn't want to explain too much and just said, "If I tell you to dispose of or capture someone, you are not asking me why ever again or I will kill you with my own hands."

He paused and then continued, "But I guess you don't understand at all why this girl became important."

"I went to the ministry of magic and fooled the people with the help of Shiro's bracelet of "Illusion control". The girl you want to invite is called Arche isn't she?"

Kiyomi nodded dumbly, but she remained on the ground, not daring to sit or stand up.

"That girl has a talent, something people in this world are born with. Something that didn't exist in Yggdrasil, which makes her a valuable test subject for Lord Ainz."

"You should have heard of this before right?"

Kiyomi nodded again.

"This girl has the same talent as the strongest mage in this Empire, which makes her value enormous. Of yourself we have offered her a deal before we knew this, so we can't cancel the deal."

A dark sinister light flashed in Dōji's eyes, "But if she decided to spit on your kindness, then there is no need to treat her decently."

Kiyomi understood that she didn't have enough information about the value this girl could have for Lord Ainz and pressed her head on the ground.

"Lord Dōji please punish this foolish servant, who can't see!"

Doji waved his hand, "Not yet... your punishment will come later. For now, we are going to wait and see what choice she will make."

"Now it lays in her own hands, is she going to live the life she always dreamed of, or is she going to live a life of eternal torment?"

"I'm looking forward to what choice she will make..."

There was an intrigued look on Dōji's face as he spoke the last words.

11th Day after coming to the New World

Something bumped into her, no two someone's bumped into her and two sweet and innocent voices reached into her ears, dragging her out of her dreams.

"Big sister!"

Arche woke up to being hugged by her two little sisters, both wearing nightgowns as they held onto her tightly.

Kuuderika wore a blue one, while Ureirika wore a pink one.

"Kuuderika... Ureirika..." She mumbled, still a bit sleepy.

Then she realized where she was and that she had fallen asleep while thinking about what choice she should make, while still sitting there with her back against the door.

"What's wrong big sister?"

"Yeah, you didn't come to read for us last night!"

The two little girls spoke, one a bit worried, the other more pouting.

A smile came to Arche's lips, as she stroked the hair of both girls.

"Sorry for not being there last night, Big sister had something important to do, but tonight I will read to you again okay?"

The two girls nodded with a bright smile on their innocent and cute faces.

The three soon left the room and while the two girls went to eat something, Arche went to her room to reflect again on what she should do now.

All the while she didn't take off her adventurer gear, still being dressed in tight layers of leather armor, she lay on her bed and gazed at the ceiling.

This was the case until her sisters came into her room and she decided to spend this day with them, maybe then she could come up with an answer.

What she didn't know was that someone was watching her all day, Kiyomi had been ordered to watch her and see what choice she would make.

Arche was of course oblivious to this fact and spent the whole day playing until night came.

After bringing the two girls to bed, Arche stood at the window gazing into the night.

"Why am I thinking so much? No matter what I have to pay for it... nothing is more important than the happiness of my sisters..."

"I want to be able to give them a new life, far away from the people who call themselves our parents..."

"Isn't it worth it? Even if I have to sell my soul to the devil?"

Talking to herself while gazing into the night, Arche's eyes shone with determination.

"I need to speak with Hekkeran and the others... I will miss them, but this is something I have to do..."

Arche then turned and left the room of Kuuderika and Ureirika, going to her own.

Meanwhile, atop the house, a happy smile appeared on Kiyomi's face, "Haha! It seems you are a good person! To sell your soul for the happiness of your siblings..."

"I heard that humans often kill each other over money and desire, even among siblings, but to see someone like you makes me feel that not all of humanity is like that..."

"Maybe Lord Dōji sees you just as an insignificant lifeform, but I think you are pretty good for a human..."

"I should go and report to the lord now... tomorrow, we are going to start our journey home."

With those words, Kiyomi disappeared into the night.
