My daughter wants to marry you

" Woah," Damien said in awe as he took in the black and gold chandleries that were hanging on the roof, with candles burning in them, the entire hall was well lit without any darkness covering any corner. Round pillars stood at a particular distance from each other, and each pillar had a candle holder and if his eyes that have been trained after working as a salesman in a jewellery shop were working fine then he was sure that the candle holders were made of pure gold… ninety-nine point nine per cent!

In between every pillar sat one couch with red velvet covering its seat and golden frame in which the red velvet was moulded and in the middle of the hall just a few feet away from Damien was a small pond but unlike the pond in the human world, it wasn't flowing with water instead it was flowing with magma!

Hot and scalding magma that hissed and frothed.

"This is better, isn't it?" The voice of the demon snapped Damien out of his daze and he hurriedly turned to face the demon who was sitting on the platform at the end of the room, red curtains with golden lining were separated on each end and in the circular, hollowed space sat a throne upon which the demon was now sitting cross-legged.

He has discarded his mask that seemed to have covered his face and only now Damien was able to look at the face of the demon who have kidnapped him.

The man was good looking at least for a demon, when he read about demons he always saw a rather gruesome image depicting them but the man in front of him was normal, with red eyes and inky black hair. The only abnormal thing was his horns that were sticking out of his hair curled slightly at the edge.

"Now if you are done staring, we will get down to business," said the Demon as he leaned back on his chair and placed his elbow on the chair before leaning his head, he snapped his fingers and a small parchment roll appeared out of thin air, little devil wings fluttering at the ends of the parchment roll as it flew over to Damien who caught it and then looked down at the roll.

Why did he have a bad feeling about this? He might be born unlucky but he had a very reliable gut feeling and currently, his gut was telling him that this parchment roll was going to turn his life upside down completely.

" This is the agreement that your parents signed, earlier they summoned me … It seems they found out how to summon a demon from a beginner guide but since I was bored I decided to answer their call. Apparently, they wanted to get super rich with a house, maids and servants thrown into the deal as well… I agreed since I had no reason to refuse, but when I asked for their soul in exchange they refused, saying that they did not want to burn in hell…that was when they remembered you." The demon pointed at Damien and even a demon was looking at him with pity, damn it!

Those bastards! They were even worse than a demon!

Damien banged his fists on the floor hoping that the floor was the faces of his parents!

The demon waited for three seconds before he asked, " Are you done?"

"A minute give me a minute let me say goodbye to my soul!" Damien raised his hand as he desperately asked for a time-out, he couldn't believe it. His not-so-glorious life came to an end without him befriending anyone, without finishing his degree and without getting married!

Argh! If he knew that he was going to die then he would have at least kissed a girl!!

" Why are you saying goodbye to your soul?" asked the demon sounding bemused but Damien thought that the demon was genuinely confused so he smiled in regret and sadness before replying, " This soul has been with me for eighteen years now, it was more close to me than anyone else."

….?

" Wow, that is one way of confessing that you have been lonely all your life," deadpanned the demon with a blank expression but then he shook his head and said, " But you seem to have mistaken, your parents did you sell your soul, they sold you to me completely…body and soul."

Fwoop!

Damien covered his chest as he eyes the demon warily before saying, " With all due respect, you are not my type and I do not swing that way!"

The Demon: "….." Silence you fool!

For the first time in his thousand years of life, Demon Vivi felt like his mana essence was rising but then he remembered the promise he had made with his daughter and rubbed the space between his brows to calm himself down. " That's not… I bought you, yes but I did not buy you for myself, I bought you for my daughter."

" What?"

Demon Vivi snapped his fingers again and then an image appeared in the middle of the hall, if Damien wasn't wrong, the boy in the holographic-looking image was him and next to him was a crying girl…whom he could not remember at all.

" That girl is my daughter Sierra Vivi," explained the demon. " And I am the duke of this underworld, you can call me duke Vivi. When my daughter was just a fledgling, she escaped from the underworld and went to the human world to explore, no one knows how she caught hold of the information and she doesn't remember it herself. Anyway, she was caught by the human kids of that world and teased rather badly because of the horns that were sticking out of her head…one of those puny human kids even broke one of my daughter's horns!"

Damien felt the magma behind him hiss even louder as the entire place started to burn rather hot but then Duke Vivi caught hold of himself and then turned to look at him again with a calm face. " Ahem, long story short …you arrived there…bullied the kids back and then returned the broken horn to my daughter, it was a rather small thing on your part for I would have destroyed the entire world to avenge my daughter."

Suddenly Damien felt like he became the saviour of his kind.

" But even though it was such a small thing my daughter fell for your kindness and now she wants to marry you."
