"Are you okay?" David asked. Jane nodded. It's been ten minutes since she's recovered. Now, both of them sat on the elevator's floor. Still no response. David looked at his watch. Time passed by so slowly.

"When's the last time you been trapped like this?" he asked, suddenly. Trying to start the conversation. Jane looked at him.

Maybe God heard what she's up to. Maybe too well! Stuck together as this makes him want to walk down memory lane.

"Locker room, ten years ago. That's the first and last. I've been careful, but who knows right?" she smiles. David's heart fluttered. That smile...

"I miss it," he speaks, with a low tone.

"Pardon?"

"That smile. Kinda miss it. It's been a while. How long since the last time we talked to each other?" Jane glared at him. After the prom incident, the thing that was left was just history. Since that, they have never spoken to each other.

"I wish I knew what's wrong with us. You know, like fixing it. We've been cool before..."

"We're wrong, right in the first place. When you asked me to be your friend. That's the wrong part. I shouldn't be your friend. Boys and girls shouldn't be friends," said Jane.

"Yeah, right! Boys and girls shouldn't be friends! But that doesn't apply when it comes between you and Kevin!" David sounded cynical.

"Kev and I are a different story. We knew each other since elementary and he didn't have anyone, unlike you who ended up being with that Helen," Jane threw her anger towards what David said about her and Kevin.

"Hah! Like you didn't end up being with him!"

"It's a good choice since we decided not to talk to each other!"

"You're the one who stops talking to me!"

"Who left first? And who's the one who betrayed first?! As I said, we are not meant to be friends. Your friends are not my friends. Except for Krissy, Frank, and Luna."

They argue like two children fighting for ice cream.

"Okay... I'm sorry if I'm hurting you.."

"That's not what I want," David sighed. This girl is so damn stubborn! But, that's what he likes about her.

"Your attitude makes me like you more.."

"Please don't start anything, Dave. We're done.."

"We're still friends, right?"

"Who said that?"

"Me.." and she sighed. How she wishes that they have this conversation a long ago! She will never feel hurt now. But, it's too late! She was hurt so bad, and never recover.

"Can I ask you something?" Jane nodded, permitting David.

"Is it true? About me..?"

"What?"

"Frank told me something about you liking me. Is it true?" asked David. Jane looked down. How could she ever answer that? It's been a long time, and she swore she will never speak about it anymore.

"It's too late, Dave. I can't remember anything about it,"

"How could you ever forget about it? Am I a stranger to you?"

She just keeps on silent.

"Tell me, is it true that you had a feeling towards me?"

"Stop burning the old flame, Dave! Whether it is true or not, it's never gonna be the same again! For me to love you, is just an old stupid thing! Now, you are nothing but a guy who was accidentally trapped with me in this stupid elevator!" Jane screamed her lungs out.

Suddenly, David felt sad. He looked right into her eyes. Never knew that she would hurt until he ends up living in denial like now.

"You never asked him.."

"Who?"

"The guy who was trapped in the elevator with you. You never asked him how he feels," he smiled.

"Why should I?!"

"A story will never be a story when you only listen to one side of it..."
