Chapter Six: Siblings Love

Maine panicked. She forgot that the letter was already sent before they hear the news. "Congrats Lord Lindoln, Your an un-uncle now~" Before Lindoln could retort she ran towards the door and went downstairs and go to her parents to hide.

Lindoln on the other hand, can't process what he just heard. He slowly turned his head and stares at her sister who's pregnant. He sigh, "This is a big trouble you make, dear sister" and sat down on the chair beside the bed. He decide to stay and sleep beside her.

"I'm sorry."

Leyla Elionor POV

I came awake with a start as the wind shaking the windows and thunder rattle the house. I moan and roll to look who is sleeping at my side. A silver haired man, wearing an eyeglasses and beneath those glasses is ruby jeweled eyes. Damn DNA!

"Bro..." I suddenly cough, my throat is so dry. I need water, pushing myself to stand, I was stopped by a gentle tap in my shoulder. "You shouldn't move around." Then he pour water to the glass and handled it to me.

"Here." He smiled. I looked up and see Lindoln looking worried at me- "I was worried, Saphir" he said in a soft and gentle voice. I drank the water slowly with trembling hands. He stopped me and hold the glass instead.

"You sleep for two days, you don't have a strength to move yet." I accept his kindness and drank. After I drank all the water, he put some pillows behind me and sit beside me. "How's your feeling?" I felt my mind is empty and still processing for everything. I sleep for two days?! I stare at him and realize something. I looked at my stomach and covered them around with my hands, looking at Lindoln scared, he smiled.

"The baby is fine. Don't worry." He pat my head and I sigh- wait. I felt Lindoln's hand is getting heavier on my head. He still keeps patting me, 'Did I tell him about the baby?' My hearts beating so faster than my mind thinking skills. I smiled at him, seeing his eyes is full of warning while smiling sweetly, I avoided his eyes.

"Is that mother's instinct?" He pinched my cheeks, "Ahhh- ouchhhh!!" I slap his hand and he grunt, still avoiding his eyes. It's not my fault okay? It's Saphira's fault, the owner of this body! He sigh and hold my hand.

"I think so long why you did that and now I understand. I can't bear the thought what happened to you for all these years for making the decision, Saphir." Lindoln is so gentle to his dear sister. I guess he blamed himself for leaving Saphira alone in the house with no one around but for me, It's really not his fault. It's just unlucky that when their parents are gone, he still not at the right age to succeed the tittle of the Duke which the Elders take advantage of it.

They can't kill him because it will cause suspicion so they send him to the Academy saying he needs it. " Saphir, I...." He closed his eyes and looked down. So he's still calling her Saphir huh? That nickname he used to call her when they are still kid. I can feel his trembling.

"Please don't blame yourself, dear brother" Now that I'm here and residing in Saphira's body, I should accept and tried to live as Saphira Elionor. I may live like this for my whole life but I will not forget my self and love my new family now.

"It's not your fault." I know this is what Saphira would say too. She love her brother, the only family who truly and love her.

"No, Saphir. As your older brother, I should have done something and protect you. I'm sorry for leaving you alone, for not fighting so hard and letting the Elders do whatever they want." Lindoln still looking down and his voice is cracking, "Every single day, there's so many questions keeps repeating in my head, thinking about how are you or what are you doing. I'm excited and always imagine how well did you grew up. I'm so proud at myself as your brother especially when I hear the new students talking how beautiful and kind you are. But at the same time, I'm worried and anxious about your health and life. I never thought they would do something like that. Something only animals would do. After all, they are our relatives living at the same roof."

He went silent in a minute. Wow, he complimented Saphira and at the same time curse our own family members, huh? He still keep playing my fingers that's covered by bandages. I decided to keep my silence and hoping that it might give comfort him. Is silent treatment can comfort someone?

I looked at him with worry. They both suffer from their own blood relative, Saphira and Lindoln. They suffer too much. My heart ache when I remember some moments they both shared since childhood. From what he said, Lindoln tortured himself and suffer while at the Academy. I hold his hand tightly and telling him through this action that I will and never let him go. He looked at me in shock and smiled. I chuckled sweetly. He moved his hand saying I should move beside so he can sit beside me at the bed. I moved and he sit beside me resting his back in the wall. He looked at the decorated ceiling and continued,

"I always wish to do something about our situation and fight for our rights but I can hardly take any action. I thought that after I graduated from the Academy, everything will be settled. I'll succeed the tittle of Duke and expel the Elders and live our life to the fullest." That's why he went back after he graduated.

In the novel, Lindoln return to the mansion and was greeted by her sister's dead body. And after that, a big chaos happened and they say that everyone in the mansion witness the wrath of the Lord of House Elionor. The Elders who take part of ruining the life of her dear sister, Saphira- they are all punished by his hand. His Majesty the King and other royal family members blindly closed their eyes and let him do to lessen his rage. After all, he's one of the people who made her sister suffer when she lived in the palace for a year and offer her to the other country as a hostage for 3 months. He's afraid that Lindoln may start a rebellion if he interfere, rebellion causes more damage than removing corrupt nobles and criminals.

The Elders are all killed by a sword, tortured, hanged. Their houses fall and even other nobles who participate suffers and even died in mysterious ways. The commoners and servants were spared, but the people who are not innocent died miserably and dismembered who lay their hand on her. Even the MC, the villain is not doing anything. The reason is even he doesn't care to her, the fact that Saphira save the FL and the FL mourns for her death is every reason for him not to react and interfere.

When everything is went silent, the Duke of Mulanch and the House of Elionor closed it's doors to the high society. He do his duties as a duke and serve the royal family, get married and have a son but they say that he did not live like a human being. He breath and do his duty, and eventually died. I suddenly felt heartbroken.

"But I guess that was a mistake." He looked at me and I can see he's hurting. He touch the gauge bandage on my head and says, "Now that I'm here, I'll assure you that I will protect you, my dear sister. And don't worry about the Elders. I already send a word to His Majesty. We'll wait for good news." He smiled.

That smiled...it's a dangerous smile. I remember when they are still a child(from Saphira's memory), there's a law that when a noble child is 7-12 years old, they should go to school to learn about the country and so on. Saphira is 7 years old at that time, new to the environment and Lindoln is 11, almost 12. There is one noble boy age 10 years old who pull Saphira's hair everyday and made her cry. Well it lasted only for 3 days after Lindoln discovers it.

After that, the parents of that noble boy kneeled down in front of our parents (Duke and Duchess), Lindoln smiled and says he forgives the boy, after all, he is still a child that needs discipline. Those who present there thinks he's reasoning is a bit strange yet right. But on the next day, the boy misfortune started. Everyday, when his carrying his food, someone 'accidentally' bump or knock it over, no one will do a group assignment with her, or like losing some important things and dirty pictures under his desk every exam. He always blame someone and yelled at them, or get back at the person who did that to him. Like a gangster something. This keeps happening for a month. And when someone pinched his side and pulled his hair in the middle of ceremony, the boy can't take anymore and he cried like a madman.

In the next day, his misfortune silently disappear and he really become so obedient and silent. Now I know what happened to him and the mastermind behind his mysterious misfortune.

"Well when we get back to the house, I'll make sure that they suffer and get punished by my own hand and maybe there's a possibility they'll die mysteriously," I immediately turn my head to him and he just gently smiling at me. "I'm gonna let you eat all the desert and sweets you want and buy you many dresses after we took all our money from them. Look forward to it!" I know this is some moments where you shouldn't ruined and just happily smile and laugh but he's saying some scary stuffs right now. I closed my eyes and tried to calm down, I should act I never heard anything.
