The birth control pills

520 Haibin Road, Oliver's Villa

The night was getting deeper, outside the sky was full of stars and inside two people was accompanying each other happily.

"Oliver, could you please get me my hair tie?" Ava was brushing her teeth in the bathroom, she shouted to Oliver, who was reading a book in the bedroom.

"Where is it?" Oliver immediately put down the book from his hand and asked. Nothing was as important as Ava to him.

"Look at the nightstand. If not there, then it's in the drawer." Ava said while she was cleaning her mouth.

Oliver stood up to check the nightstand, he couldn't find it there so he opened the bedside drawer and looked inside. There were not many things in the drawer so the crystal ball hair tie, he found it easily. Oliver took it out and was about to close the drawer when his eyes fell on a small white bottle in the drawer. Oliver narrowed his eyes and picked up the bottle from the drawer and turned the bottle to see what kind of medicine it was. His eyes turned cold and his face became hard looking at the word written on the bottle, "Contraceptive pill!"

"Oliver..." Ava ran out of the bathroom in a hurry remembering that she kept her pills in the drawer. She completely forgot about it when she asked Oliver to get her hair tie.

Oliver stood there with an indifferent face and the white bottle in his hand. Even the warm light in the bedroom could not hide Oliver's cold and fierce eyes.

Ava panicked the moment she saw the bottle in Oliver's hand.

"How long have you been taking them?" Oliver's breath became heavy, the anger was apparent on his cold face.

"Oliver I... Not long." Ava looked at Oliver with frightening eyes, she couldn't form a full sentence clearly.

Oliver smiled coldly, unscrewed the bottle in front of Ava, and took out the pills. Four pills came out crawling from the bottle and fell on the floor. Oliver's cold eyes stared at the pills on the ground for a while. There are supposed to be 30 pills in one bottle and the woman in front of him was telling him that she didn't take the pills for long.

Ava was biting her lips unconsciously, why was he so angry? What did she do wrong by taking pills? He doesn't want to use protection so what choice did she have except for taking pills?

"So you've been taking birth control pills all this time. No wonder you didn't get pregnant." Oliver said indifferently but he was really angry. He was really worried why she wasn't getting pregnant, he even doubted himself but it turns out she was taking precautions not to get pregnant.

"Yes I don't want to get pregnant, we are not married. Besides you are Oliver Knight, if I get pregnant then people will say that I was taking advantage of you and to trap you I got pregnant. So you can't really blame me for taking a precaution." Ava said sadly, her eyes turned red. She also didn't want to take them but their relation from the beginning was so complicated what else she could do?

Oliver suddenly walked toward Ava and took her in his arm then without any warning he kissed her soft lips. "You are not allowed to take birth control pills in the future. If you don't want to get pregnant, just tell me, I will use condoms. Taking those pills will hurt your body, don't you know that?" Oliver said softly after letting go of her lips.

He was very disappointed in Ava. She would rather harm her own body than have his baby, Oliver felt very sad at that thought.

"Oliver...I am sorry." Ava said softly, hearing what Oliver just said Ava felt guilty for taking the pills.

"So what about my son?" Oliver stretched out his long fingers and gently caresses Ava's cheek.

"Oliver...I..."

"It's OK. Don't worry. We still have plenty of time in the future." Oliver smiled, but his eyes looked a little lost.

Hearing Oliver's last sentence a tear ran down from the corner of Ava's eyes, she was really overwhelmed. She never thought about their future but when Oliver reassured her like that, she felt they had a future together and her heart felt warm but the guilt of doing something wrong was also troubling her heart.

Ava looked at Oliver and said sincerely, "Oliver, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have taken those pills. I promise you I'll never take them in the future again."

"I know how you feel. Don't worry I will never let you get pregnant before you marry me. I didn't think about it carefully in the past." Oliver stroked Ava's hair and shoulder gently.

"Thank you, Oliver." Ava hugged Oliver's waist tightly.

"No thanks, fool. Go to bed I'll take a shower first." Oliver freed himself from Ava's hold and turned to go to the bathroom and his eyes instantly turned cold.

After Oliver entered the bathroom, Ava picked up the pills from the floor and threw them in the bin. She instantly made a promise to herself that she will never take them again. So what if she gets pregnant? They loved each other it was alright to bear a child for the man she loved, right!
