Inheritance War (2)

As a child, she idolized her granduncle Joran, a powerful figure in her family and a second generation, or 2G. He was born with exceptional potential, boasting a blood energy capacity (BEC) of 35% from birth. This made him a genius, capable of becoming an expert warrior or high mage without the need for blood purification. His blood purification rate was also outstanding among the 2Gs.

Joran's father was a son of the progenitor, a god-like figure who lived on Genesis Island. He rarely interacted with the world. The only ones who get to see him are his brides who accompany him for at most 2 months and very few of his exceptional children. Regardless, he was acknowledged as the most powerful being on the planet. The only thing most knew about the progenitor was that he had countless children, and many viewed him as a promiscuous monster with a reputation for being a lustful devil.

Despite the controversy surrounding the progenitor, his children were highly revered for their incredible power and intelligence. They all emerged into the world more powerful than the average person, with a starting BEC of over 50%. But it was not just their strength that set them apart. They were also inhuman in both appearance and physique, possessing an otherworldly beauty and an aura of superiority that surrounded them wherever they went. They looked human but were taller on average, had eyes that shone like jewels, and clear crystal scales on their skin. And they had wings, some more leathery and others more feathery, giving the first generations (1Gs) an angelic appearance. It was this appearance that earned them the name 'angels.'

The 1Gs also brought with them a wealth of knowledge that they had received from their father's education system. This knowledge made them highly valued wherever they went, and they were often sought after as advisors and teachers. They brought about revolutionary changes around the world, causing a leap in technology and science that had never been seen before. They also brought with them a superior blood purification method that allowed normal people to reach a BEC of 25%, still far beyond what most could achieve through regular purification. The method was meant to take those with the progenitor's bloodline to 100%, but it still increased the cap for normal humans from 15% to 25%

The first generations (1Gs) of the progenitor became symbols of power and were revolutionary scientists and magicians. They were highly respected, and their influence spread all over the world. Families even sent brides to the progenitor to boost their own influence. But greed consumed them, and they convinced the 1Gs to attempt to retake the Island. It resulted in a bloody battle as the progenitor was regarded as godlike.

The 1Gs were difficult to manipulate, but they were still human and had their flaws. They were the best, right below their father, but then they noticed something interesting. The 2Gs had a faster blood purification rate than the 1Gs, though their BEC was lower at birth. This caught everyone's attention, and they started rushing the 1Gs to procreate as much as possible to have as many 2Gs as possible to boost the strength of their family, organization, or country. It was not easy though, as it was an established fact that the higher your blood energy, the lower your fertility.

The situation took a turn when the 1Gs were coerced to break their father's instructions and mate with each other. This was a terrible decision as they had been warned against having children within their bloodline. The progenitor even gave them special devices to check people's bloodlines because he knew that the genetic information he gave them was unstable. He provided guidelines to prevent accidents, but some ignored them, while others were careless.

While the genes stabilized by the second generation, they were still warned to only allow copulation between 3Gs and beyond to prevent genetic disorders from occurring. These disorders were further stimulated by powerful, unstable genes, resulting in children who ranged from monsters to beings who were slightly not human or angelic. Some raised these beings as weapons, some saw them as their own, some tried to kill them at birth, and some died in pregnancy. Thus, monsters were introduced to the world.

Most of these monsters were humanoid, but some were not. The violent ones tended to flee far from Genesis Island, as they sensed their ancestors' aura warning them that they would be slaughtered if they acted out. This brought a semblance of peace to the world while the progenitor was still alive.

The progenitor could have easily ended the lives of these monsters, but he chose to leave it up to nature and fate to balance the world. He was also reluctant to help as their future evolution would be valuable to him. Over a century, some monsters bred with different creatures, resulting in beasts with superior physiques and intellects. The progenitor left it to the people of the world to decide how to handle these creatures, and eventually, he left as well.

The progenitor's absence allowed his descendants to run unchecked. Some of them craved power and sought to rule the world, while others aimed to establish themselves as silent rulers like their father. Some were deranged and sought nothing but destruction. This led to the greatest war, later to be known as the Inheritance War.

Meanwhile, some of the monsters that had fled returned with their armies, children, and other creatures. Kingdoms fought to establish themselves and weaken their opponents as their source of elite fighters was gone. Skirmishes turned into full-scale wars, and ordinary humans realized that they would suffer the most. The progenitor's lineage was powerful enough to protect themselves, while most humans could die at the release of their aura. As a result, humans had to submit to the angels to protect themselves from the monsters, who later became known as dragons and demons.

Humans and human-like beings banded together to defend themselves from the berserk dragons and fiendish demons. However, they were fighting a losing battle. They would have been hopeless without the gods, who were once mortals themselves. Godhood, which was the progenitor's last gift to all his children.
