Chapter 6 {Review 6}

On getting to the hospital Baek hyeon parked his car at the parking lot and got down to make a call.

Baek hyeon put down his phone and open the car door and spoke with a much softer tone "your aunt will be here in a few minutes so wait for her and go home with her okay. I will take care of the rest" they both nodded.

Sighing Baek hyeon left them. DaJeoung and Dong stayed put and waited for half an hour and no sign of aunty Dam-bi

DaJeoung couldn't stand it anymore she spoke to Dong "let go in and check. aunt Dam-bi isn't here yet. I want to know what going on" Dong agreed he was worried too.

On getting into the hospital they went to the reception of the hospital and gave the description of who they where looking for.

Giving the kids the room number and floor where their mum is located. The nurse was a sympathetic toward them.

DaJeoung and Dong got to thrid floor they saw Baek hyeon moving around nervously while the emergency room red light was still on. They both stayed at a distance observing the situation

Few minutes into the wait the light change to green DaJeoung told Dong "stay here I will move closer so I can hear what the doctor says." Dong replied "okay".

DaJeoung walked forward and stood by safe distance where she can hear everything without been spotted.

The doctor came out and asked "Are you the patient family" Baek hyeon nodded. The doctor explained "we saw many bruise and wound on the patient body. This is maybe as a result of long term violence. But that not the problem the problem is due to excess loss of blood the baby couldn't be saved and her head injury has caused a serious brain damage. she unconscious now and likely not to survive so you and your family should prepare yourself . But we will try our best to save her."

DaJeoung gasped and clamped her hand over her mouth. Her tears fell she didn't dare cry out for fear that her brother will guess something is wrong.

Schooling her expression DaJeoung walked to Dong and told him half truth, half lie "The doctor said mum is unconscious after treatment she need some rest now. I think we can come see her tomorrow." Dong nodded a doubtfully but still followed.

Getting back to the car DaJeoung noticed that her step mum wasn't here yet she sigh in relief and they both continued to wait.

Another 30 minutes passed before Dam-bi arrived she didn't bother to explain why she took so long. she just told them to follow her home. DaJeoung was already sad enough she didn't have the energy to ask questions. She just pulled Dong along and followed.

Arriving home Dam-bi got down. The kids followed they got into the house and Dam-bi finally felt she could give them the honor to hear her talk. she told them without any expression. "there is food in kitchen just microwave it and eat am going to bed am sure DaJeoung knows what to do after all it's your father's house"

DaJeoung wasn't shocked at all this has been how her step mum talked her for years so she was used it. She nodded

Seeing that they heard what she what said Dam-bi left for her room without a word to them.

DaJeoung asked Dong "what would you like to eat? "

"Am not hungry." Dong replied her.

Frowning DaJeoung spoke out harshly "why? I already told she will be fine" noticing she was letting her anger get the better of her she softened her voice "ok how about I make you a warm milk to help you sleep" Dong nodded.

DaJeoung sighed in relief and made the milk for both of them.

They both went to the room Dong was going to sleep DaJeoung stayed till Dong fell asleep and went back to her room.

After tossing and turning DaJeoung couldn't sleep she has been trying to comfort herself that everything will get better from tomorrow but it wasn't working. It was midnight and she heard footsteps walking towards her room she got up from the bed and opened her door.

Baek hyeon was stunned that his daughter was still awake he forced a smile "DaJeoung why are you still awake. Don't worry your aunt will be fine. Go to bed you have to school tomorrow okay" DaJeoung nodded.

Baek hyeon said "I already put Dong things in his room here is yours. See you tomorrow I will take you to school myself okay. I need to rest now see you tomorrow "

DaJeoung closed her room got back to bed before she knew it was morning. She got up and got ready to for school.

Coming down she saw her step brother and Dong ready for school. She asked " where dad "

Ji-ho replied "dad should be here soon. Your breakfast is also in the kitchen" DaJeoung nodded and went into the kitchen she package it for school while saying "I will eat at school "

Baek hyeon got down " okay kids let go now" they all left for school.

On getting to school DaJeoung did everything normally. She smiled that her face was hurting for smiling too much. After the thrid period the bell rang for break time she decided to be on her own and rest for the day.

She went to the swimming area. because it was a area student hardly to go to. Even DaJeoung don't have interest in swimming it was the most quiet area in school. Looking for a spot and sat down.

Joon won walk into the cafeteria out of habit he looked around didn't see her. she wasn't in her sit and her friends where the only ones there.

He got his food and went to his normal spot. he always takes a swim before eating his lunch.

On getting there he heard sobs and he was Stunned he walked over. This was a surprise because students hardly comes this way.

Joon won froze when he saw who was sitting and crying. It was DaJeoung. A girl who always has a genuine smile on face. before he could stop himself he was already in front of her raising her chin and wiped her tears while sitting close to her.

DaJeoung was stunned and embarrassed. She herself didn't know when she started crying. after few minutes of awkward silence DaJeoung whispered " she going to die, she going to be leave me and Dong alone in this world alone, I don't even know why it as to be her now she is the only mother figure I have.

She choked while saying I don't know what to do. She cried".

Joon won hug her before he could think. He wasn't good at comforting other he was confused. He watched as she cried on till exhaustion took over and she fell asleep. He placed her gently on his shoulders so she can continue sleeping.
