Chapter 2 ~New beginnings-II~

A man walking towards an unknown future for the sake of his people. His resolve and determination shone brightly on his face as he took steady steps on <The path to salvation>.

Arthur walked on the path with no end in sight but he still strode forward, each step radiating the complex feelings of a ruler trying desperately to save his people until...

A bright light suddenly shone upon him and the existence that stepped out of this light left him mouth agape in pure admiration and awe.

"...?!"

The creature was covered head to toe in a golden armour with platinum blonde hair that was flowing. Strange, the space they were in had no air then how was the creatures hair flowing so gracefully. it's golden irises shone brightly as it's six wings spread out covering an insane distance of at least 50m. Still under the enchantment of the creatures perplexing beauty he stuttered

"A-are u god?"

"....?!"

"not too far from it"

the creature smiled as it spoke

"for the record am a male so don't get too lost in your imaginations"

this was actually quite shocking to Arthur as he pondered how a man could have such beautiful features.

"come now, we have not much time to waste"

the creature extended it's hand out to Arthur. Arthur hesitated before accepting the hand and before he could even utter a word

*whoosh*

the man was already travelling through countless dimensions at incalculable speeds and yet another phenomenon occured.

Even though he did not have a physical body the sensation of moving at speeds far superior to light itself was like his consciousness being separated from his main body. The hints of colour that he was able to grasp while travelling fused together to form an indescribable otherworldly sight. It was a though an artist just threw together all the colours he had on the canvass but the colours rearranged themselves in such a manner that they bring out the best features of each other in its entirety leaving him speechless and before he knew it, a single tear drop escaped his eyes.

"Get a hold of yourself king..... we've almost reached our destination"

Arthur quickly wiped off the tear drop and quietly closed his eyes steeling himself and his resolve in preparation for what was to come.

"we have arrived"

Arthur reopened his eyes and was once again greeted by an awe inspiring sight.

it was the interior of a beautiful palace decorated from top to bottom in all the most extravagant and luxurious minerals.

"Are all the things I am going to see from now on be like this"

"....!"

"tight lipped, huh"

"Be quiet"

"His eminence shall now make his entrance"

echoed a voice in the corner of the castle's interior and almost immediately afterwards a huge door at the far end of the room opened and the creature that walked in drove the final nail into his definitions of beauty. The creature was dressed in an immaculate white garment decorated with various ornaments and what's more, it was released an immense aura that seemed to paralyse Arthur. The creature took one glance in Arthur's direction and it felt like he had been stripped bare of his life's history and this made him shudder.

The creature silently walked up to and sat on his throne, he gazed at his throne room once more with his near divine eyes before saying

"Report to me. Kaizer".

the escort who brought me here, apparently 'kaizer' then stepped forward. He knelt in front of the throne and said

"As you commanded, I have brought him"

the creature on the throne then smiled before saying

"Brilliant work as always, kaizer"

kaizer then returned to his original position and nudged Arthur forward

Arthur, taking that as his cue then walked up in front of the throne. There was a brief silence before the creature on the throne stood up from where he sat and walked towards Arthur.

Arthur instinctively took a step back and the creature, perhaps finding this action amusing, smiled and responded by saying

"come now, I am not going to bite you""

"....!!"

Arthur then opened his mouth

"who are you?!"

he said raising his voice. And almost immediately afterwards another creature at the edge of the room retorted

"

How dare an unsightly creature like yourself raise your voice while speaking to his eminence! unforgivable—"

before he could even finish talking he was silenced by a single hand gesture made by the creature referred to as 'his eminence

"my name is kaineix"

"..."

"There is no need to feel so nervous, after all we are all humans just like you".

These words dropped like an atomic bomb, completely devastating his sense of reasoning. He looked up at the creature, totally flabbergasted It was a natural reaction, after all, anyone who heard those words and believed them immediately must have a few screws loose.

".....!"

he was speachless

kaineix then opened his mouth and said

"I understand that you must have several questions for me"

".....!"

"Alright, I believe the<path of salvation> already gave you a basic idea on what you will be doing"

Arthur simply nodded

"Good. Then allow me to elaborate on what it said"

"...!!"

"in a few days from now, a competition will be held to determine who is worthy of the blessing of <REGRESSION>. And you have been chosen

to participate. The battle itself will be in the form of a battle royale".

"A battle royale?!"

Arthur finally spoke

"That's right"

"The battle will take place in an agreed upon venue in which all the 10,000 candidates will enter the ring at once and battle it out until there is only one man left standing!".

The others in the room seemed just as shocked as Arthur was regarding the revelation that was just made.

Then Arthur asked a question

"If it was a battle royale then why was I brought here".

kaineix smiled

"You catch on quite fast, as expected of the former ruler of camelot"

Arthur shuddered

"The reason why you were brought here was to prepare you for the fight. If you were all to go into battle the way you are right now the fight will be quite unrefined and boring and as such dignified people like myself have been given the opportunity to 'raise' you. They may call it the once in an eternity opportunity but in the end , it is just means of amusement for those superior to you".

Arthur was speechless, was it because of kaineixs' sincerity or perhaps due to the sheer scale of it all.

"Okay then what kind of training will I be undergoing?".

".....!!"

kaineix walked a few steps closer before saying

"In this world, there exist a certain source of energy called <Karma>"
