A Cute Friend

"A werewolf?" Elisa said as she sensed the unusual aura of the unfamiliar person.

The figure slowly made its way towards her and as soon as he stood in front of her one thing got clear, it was a werewolf indeed in its human form, but also a kid at that.

"What are you doing here?" Elisa asked blankly but more in a soft voice, not wanting to scare the little child.

The child remained silent as his shivering body didn't go unnoticed by Elisa, causing her eyes to soften.

She has always been a kind and soft-hearted person and she is the most weak to children whether they'd be of any species, making them her weakness which no one is really aware of.

She forwarded her step towards the child as the child stepped back and since it was dark and the moon was the only light source, made it difficult for both of them to have clear vision of each other.

Elisa created a blurry vision of a golden lustre that emitted from her hand and floated in mid-air, causing the atmosphere to lighten up as they got a clear view of each other.

Elisa saw the boy, he was around the age of ten with dark brown hair and deep blue eyes and was not in a good shape as to her sight.

"Don't worry, I will not hurt you. It's okay." Elisa said while taking slow steps towards the kid as he stood at his place, looking at Elisa, blankly.

Ash was still at the back, observing the boy's each and every action, all ready to attack him if he did any tricks on her innocent Master.

Elisa was now standing in front of the kid whereas the kid was shivering whether because of fear or cold. Elisa crouched down, adjusting to the kid's height.

She extended both of her hands, holding the kid from either side as the kid flinched.

"It's okay, it's okay. Don't be scared." Elisa said comforting the child as the child was still up guarded against her.

Elisa closed her eyes as she casted a warm barrier around the kid as the kid started to feel warm but the shivering still didn't stop which indicated that he was scared.

Elisa released him and gave him a warm smile as the kid just blankly stared at her while feeling a sense of warmth from her.

"I'm Elisa and that big beautiful golden bird over there is Ash. You don't have to be scared, we won't hurt you." Elisa said in a soft voice as the kid stopped shivering. Ash also came closer, standing behind Elisa.

'Phew...Looks like the kid loosened up a bit. Guess he's not scared anymore.' Elisa thought, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Are you a fairy?" the kid asked, innocently. Elisa smiled and replied, "You can say it like that"

Elisa didn't tell him that she is a mage because maybe he is still unaware of the concept of mages and if she would explain it to him, he might get scared, keeping in mind the fact that both mages and werewolves don't have good relations.

"What's your name?" Elisa asked softly. The boy hesitated at first but eventually spoke,

"Rayan". Elisa smiled and said,

"That's a cute name, just like you". Rayan shyly looked down, flustered by Elisa's compliment.

"So Rayan, May I ask what are you doing here? How did you get here? But in the first place, you shouldn't be here. This place isn't safe for you." Elisa said with concern in her eyes.

"Will you hurt me, Miss Fairy?" Rayan asked with tearful eyes, causing Elisa's heart to melt.

"No baby. I won't. Nor will I let anyone hurt you" Elisa said as she tried to calm down the kid.

"Even though it's a werewolf? The kind you hate the most?" Ash asked as Elisa got silent.

'It doesn't matter what species he is. He is just an innocent child. What happened before isn't his fault. He isn't even aware of the dangerous situation he is currently in. I can not let any innocent get harmed. Not in my watch! Before, I was incompetent, but now I'm more than capable of protecting anything or anyone. And I can not let this child's family members feel what she felt that day...'

Elisa said through telekinesis while looking towards Ash, whereas the child was confused by the silent conversation between the Master and her magical pet.

"Will you now tell me how you got here? Are you alone or with someone?" Elisa asked, looking here and there, as Rayan shook his head indicating a 'no'.

"I'm alone" he said as Elisa sighed in relief and looked at the kid, waiting for him to continue.

"I-I ran from h-home." Rayan said hesitantly as Elisa widened her eyes.

"What?! You ran from your home? Why?" Elisa asked in a shocking manner.

"B-Because I don't like anyone. Everyone hates me. My Mom scolded me saying that I was a really bad kid and my brother also said that I'm spoiled too much." he explained with teary eyes as small sobs left his mouth.

Elisa and Ash looked at each other, not knowing what to do, before diverting their attention back to the kid.

"And why did they say so? You seem like a good kid." Elisa asked as Rayan suddenly snapped,

"I am a good kid! But she isn't! And because of her everyone hates me."

"Because of who?" Elisa asked. Rayan, who was currently pouting with a cute frown plastered over his forehead, looked at Elisa for a few seconds before speaking,

"The bad Aunty. My brother's soon-to-be-wife. Ugly Lydia...She keeps sticking to my brother and because of her, Brother is also distant with me and she has a really loud voice. She is ugly too. She doesn't like me and always tells me to stay away from my brother. I really hate her. Because of her Mommy and Brother scolded me. Just because I asked my brother not to marry her."

'I really shouldn't laugh' Elisa thought while trying to control her laughter.

"You really shouldn't...He is cute though." Ash said as Elisa looked at her, still trying not to laugh.

'He sure is' Elisa replied.

"So that is why you ran from home?" Elisa asked, softly pinching the boy's cheeks as he cutely nodded. At this point Elisa could not control anymore as she let out a giggle.

"You are way too cute" Elisa said, ruffling Rayan's hair.

"You are also really pretty, Miss Fairy. I really want you to be my brother's bride" he said as Elisa passed a sad smile.

'I'm already trapped in a hateful arranged marriage which I don't think I can run away from. Just how many more tests do I have to go through to lead a happy and carefree life.' Elisa thought while sadly smiling at the boy in front of her.
