The Stars In The Galaxy

Elisa looked towards her wrist watch to get an idea of time as her eyes widened.

"It's past midnight?! How much in the heck did I sleep??" she exclaimed as she stood up in a jolt which made her lose balance but Ash prevented her from falling down with the waterfall.

"Calm down, girl. Who would believe this clumsy girl is actually the strongest mage of the era." Ash said as Elisa passed an awkward smile.

"We have to go or else Mom w-" Elisa was saying but stopped mid-way when today's event flashed in her head, again making her sit back in her place like before.

"What happened?" Ash asked.

"I don't want to see them right now." Elisa said as Ash sighed.

"Lisa, Listen. Maybe you should give them a chance to explain. Maybe there is something you don't know that they are going through, that you're not aware of?" Ash said as Elisa looked towards her.

"Sometimes you talk too smart," Elisa said, making Ash laugh.

"Even though they might have some reason but...wanna bet?" Elisa said, confusing Ash.

"Bet? for what?" Ash asked.

"I bet that the reason behind all this marriage stuff...is probably their business. They love their company more than anything even if it means to sell off their daughter, especially Dad." Elisa sadly chuckled as Ash went silent.

She knew what Elisa went through, she knew her pain. She could feel it too.

"They weren't there on the day that incident happened so they also don't know what impact it had on me since they were busy with their so-called business and still are. For them I was just being childish. And way after witnessing my terrible condition Mom's heart finally melted as she took me to the psychiatrist where Master also came along.

As he was explaining my condition to the psychiatrist, Mom got to know the whole truth, causing her to feel guilty and sad for her own child which is the reason behind her current concern and care for me" Elisa said while looking at the moon.

"You know, I don't like the moon." Elisa suddenly spoke as Ash asked,

"The moon? And why is that?".

"Because it resembles me alot..." Elisa said.

"How so?" Ash asked.

"Firstly, it reminds of those werewolves." Elisa said as Ash laughed.

"Really? Just because of that?" Ash asked as Elisa smiled and shook her head.

"Then?" Ash asked.

"It's beautiful but it has scars on it which is the obstacle that stops it from being perfect. It can not radiate its own light, it steals from the sun, just like me. I have scars, a dreadful past which stops me from living my life to fullest. The guilt that my hands are stained with someone's blood stops me from being happy.

I am alive because of people around me. I am stealing their positive energy, their comfort, their support...for my benefit. If Genevieve, Master and you wouldn't have been by my side...I would have been dead by now. As I said, I am living for all of you...not for me." Elisa said in a blank voice with no emotions on her face.

Ash was just silent as she could sense her owner's throbbing heart. She was admiring her owner's strength, how strong she was to be living with an aching heart wherever she goes.

How talented she is to be smiling through the pain she had been experiencing and how no one even notices the screams she is holding in, in those deep eyes.

How she manages to convince everyone that she is over everything and is fine but in reality is not.

How she manages to keep up her cheerful personality, leaving behind that traumatized kid that still lingers inside her and how she acts like nothing happened...but deep down only Ash knew how much pain was her master in.

"You are weak" Ash said as Elisa laughed.

"I sure am" Elisa spoke and paused for a moment before continuing,

"I still don't know how to fight...how to fight with life. So you are right, I am weak." Elisa replied as Ash sighed.

"If you don't like the moon then what do you like?" Ash tried to change the topic.

"Like? Hmm?...I like the stars" Elisa replied.

"Stars? Why so?" Ash asked, proud of herself as she managed to change the topic.

"Because even though they are the farthest, they still shine the brightest. They emit their own lustre. There are millions, no, trillions of them but...They shine in their own way which makes each of them special. They shine the brightest when the night's the darkest. They are their own saviour...from the darkness.

I want to be like them, in my dark life, I want to be the brightest star that shines on her own without stealing other's light. I want to be happy for myself...I want to live for myself" Elisa explained.

'And I know what's stopping you....But why does everything end on this topic?' Ash thought as Elisa chuckled.

"I can hear you Dumbo...I know you are trying your best for me to move on from my past and I really appreciate you all for that and I'm sorry that your efforts are going in vain, but someday...maybe one day...I'll be the brightest star in my galaxy" Elisa said with a smile, looking at stars as Ash smiled at her owner's positive attitude.

After a while of peaceful silence, Elisa suddenly stood up with a jolt and started to slap herself with both of her hands causing Ash to be taken aback by her actions.

"Elisa, you can do it! Cheer up!!" Elisa exclaimed with her red cheeks as Ash laughed.

"You are right Ash...I should talk to them and give them a chance to explain,'' Elisa said as she looked towards Ash.

Ash smiled at her. Both of them were about to leave but a sudden sound caught their attention.

*Rustle*

A bush not so far away from Elisa started to move as Elisa and Ash got attentive. Ash was about to attack but Elisa stopped her with her hand gesture.

Elisa started to approach the rustling bush with light steps, not wanting to alert the person or any being present there.

Elisa casted a protective barrier around her as she kept approaching the bush. Whereas Ash was flitting in the air behind Elisa not wanting to interrupt her Master.

Elisa stood in front of the bush but a little further away from it. She extended her hand in the bush's direction as a golden light lustre emitted from her hand while on the other side the bush started to part in half on its own, causing Elisa to stop her action as she observed the other person's action.

Soon a figure caught her attention but was not clear to her vision. As soon as the figure started to move forward in Elisa's direction, she sensed one thing as she frowned and said,

"A werewolf?"
