Ch 9: Unfaithful Mate of Helene

Karenina tilted her face and dramatically repeated his words,"Me? Beg for mercy from you?"

Spitting on the ground, she glanced at Ivaan with her piercing emerald green eyes,"Are you daydreaming or perhaps have you gone insane after being isolated from the world for a week?"

"Hey, mind your language. He's your class leader," Ivaan's friends shouted at her for cursing but she ignored them like they were snowflakes.

And taking a step close to Ivaan she retorted in an indifferent voice,"I was having a good chat with my friend and you ruined it."

Ivaan looked at her up and down before cursing,"This bitch here thinks that I give a fuck about her so-called 'good chat or time' LoL."

Karenina's fists were enclosed in a punch, and she was about to hit him when Helene jumped in. Holding Karenina's closed fist, she faced Ivaan," why do you always look for trouble, class leader? Do you want to get grounded again?"

"And who are you, again?" Ivaan pushed her back, causing her to fall down. "A weakling like you is not qualified to talk to me. Know your fucking place."

Helene's fingers pressed on the grass as she suppressed her eyes from getting wet. Seeing her pathetically hiding her tears, Ivaan and his friends started laughing at her. Karenina couldn't tolerate their bullying anymore, she raised her fist to smack his and his friends' disgusting face. However Helene grabbed Karenina's leg, wrapping her arms around her and begging her to not hurt Ivaan and his friends.

"Why? I don't understand why you want to protect this useless piece of Shit',' Karenina growled angrily as she controlled her fist from punching Ivaan's face.

"Just leave him. I'm fine, please let's just return to our dormitory's room," Helene begged, her voice trembling as if she was scared of someone or something.

"Please, I want to go back," Helene continued, which made Karenina very confused and angry at the same time. She puts her raised fists down and squats down. Holding Helene's face, she frowned.

This was the very first time Karenina was witnessing Helene's this peculiar side. The image of a happy and nonchalant girl changed drastically.

"Yes, that's right. Keep your heads low and I'll spare you guys," Ivaan cursed before leaving with his friends.

Karenina swallowed up her pride as she watched them leaving. Her wolf was suffocating in suppressing, she wanted to leapt on him and rip off his throat. But she remembered what Romeo told her... Shifting and using wolf's power was forbidden in the college.

Sighing deeply, she turned back to Helene and abruptly guessed,"He's your fateful mate, isn't he?"

"H-How...?" Helene was too dumbfounded to say anything. Her voice stuttered as she tried to speak further,"H-He isn't my mate... But my ex..."

"Stop lying to me, Helene. You wouldn't have begged me to let him go if he were your ex. Just admit the truth, I'm not going to kill him or something," Karenina lost her temper, as she jolted Helene's shoulders to get her out of her delusional lies.

"Okay fine," Helene scowled, getting up from the ground. " Yes, he's my fated mate and I'm engaged to him. I don't want him to reject me because of you. Don't you know what happens to the rejected wolves?"

Karenina knew about this very well. Rejection from their fateful mates are like curses for werewolves. Their wolves stuffers internal injuries while the rejected individual becomes rogue and useless to the pack. Some even lose connections with their wolves and become wolf-less... They might get kicked out of the pack or disowned by the family.

Karenina raised her hand to wipe Helene's tears but she ran off leaving Karenina alone.

"Oh," Karenina was hurt by her friend's words. "I-I was just trying to stand up for her... Why would she yell at me for not knowing her relationship with that bastard?"

She furiously walked in the dormitory building when suddenly she heard a girl's flirtatious laughs coming from one of the guestrooms. The rooms which were usually not used by students or wardens. They were empty and only used as dressing rooms during festivals or college functions.

Karenina decided to ignore but her feet halted upon hearing a familiar guy's voice.

"Catherine, you are so good at kissing. Do you have any plans for the upcoming weekend?"

'Ivaan?' Karenina thought when she overheard the conversation. She tip-toes towards the room's door and through the keyhole she looks inside. Her eyes widened in shock as she clasped her mouth.

'H-He is having sex with Catherine?' Karenina immediately distanced herself from the door's keyhole, disgusted by what she just witnessed. She quickly takes out her phone and clicks the photos of Ivaan and Catherine together before making a run to her dormitory room.

"Katty, are you alright?" Mariyam asked as soon as Karenina entered inside.

Locking the door, Karenina fanned herself with her hand and catching her breath she retorted,"You won't believe what I just saw..."

But before sharing the news with Mariyam, Karenina looked around the room. Unfortunately Helene was sitting on the corner of her bed and sobbing. Seeing her friend in a miserable state, Karenina put her phone back in her pocket and changed the topic.

"I wanted to ask you for some makeup tips as I have decided to seduce Father Romeo."

Mariyam crossed her arms,"No, you should give up on that crazy idea. I don't want you to get expelled from your academics."

Rolling her eyes, Karenina smirked at Mariyam's innocence. "Believe me he wouldn't even file a complaint against me because who will believe him? Aren't I at an advantageous age?"

"You are crazy," Mariyam giggled and started sharing her make-up secrets with her.

However Helene never joined them and in the morning, she left the room first for morning prayer.

Karenina and Mariyam arrived very late and were given side glances by other students and professors. Karenina, being bold, took a seat in the front row while Mariyam went to sit beside Helene.

Romeo was reading the prayers when his eyes locked with Karenina's and he noticed the changes in her. Today she was wearing her skirt short, revealing her inner thighs and her shirt was tight showing her curves clearly.

"Ahem," Romeo stopped in the middle of his prayer and quickly turned his face away from Karenina.

She continued to distract him even in the classroom where other girls were left baffled by her fearless approach. She kept doing it for a few days until one day the principal announced a week-long holiday.

"Seriously? A weekend for such things?" Karenina murmured under her breath as she annoyingly walked through the corridors of her college.

"Karenina, follow me to my office," Romeo called her when he saw her bunking other Professor's classes.
