Paradise in a Palace

"Good afternoon president." Emma greeted politely as she walked slowly towards his desk. The president's office was as big as three times their living room and kitchen combined and it has an ancient feeling to its surroundings.

Other than the office before her, there seems to be a door by the side which she assumed to be his personal lounge and there's no doubt it won't be bigger than what was before her eyes.

The president's office chair and table was very far away from the door she just walked through and was rather close to the floor to ceiling window revealing the beautiful city beneath.

There were two different sets of couches on either side of the room in an adjacent manner and were dark blue and coffee brown color respectively. They were paired with matching color tables with flowers on top each. A huge and beautiful silver coloured chandelier also hung in the middle of the room with small shimmery star lights as decorations on the ceiling.

To the left of the president's table has a collection of books, consisting of probably outdated yet neatly kept books, with a few modern books arranged in a beautiful dark brown mixed with white bookshelf.

Then finally to the right, there was a mini bar which she could only assume contains wines of about six digits. After admiring the superb office before her, including the marvelous paintings, she finally arrived by the president's table.

Levi was busy going through some emails on his computer so he didn't look up even when the door was opened. When he noticed the presence before his table, he lifted his cold gaze to meet the calm and reserved expression on Emma's face.

"Miss Emma Duke." Levi called out slowly with a creepy smile on his face.

"That's me." Emma replied calmly.

"Now what should I do to such a disrespectful employee like you?" Levi asked, still with his devilish smile as he leaned back into his comfortable leather chair.

"According to the company's code of conduct, any form of disrespect from lower employees will result in half a pay for that month. If the offense is severe, he/she would be suspended or worst case, fired." Emma replied, completely unbothered by Levi's expression.

"Such a stubborn deer, you sure did your homework huh..." Levi said as he slowly withdrew his smile.

"So what do you think is the punishment for raising your voice at your boss and walking away from him?" Levi asked with a stern expression as he stared at Emma who couldn't utter a word.

'How did I end up with such an unreasonable boss? He angered me first so did he really expect me to stand still and kiss his shoes?? Emma thought in anger, unable to unleash any of her frustration.

Levi had a satisfied smile on his face seeing that Emma didn't say anything.

"Beginning from right now, you will serve as my personal maid. Your punishment will only end when I say so." Levi gave out his command before turning his attention back to his computer.

"What??! personal maid?? Has this boss of hers list a screw up there?? Why the hell did he need a maid at his age and she of all people??" Emma complained inwardly as she stared at Levi in anger.

"President..." she uttered while biting on her teeth.

"I'm hungry. Cook me something edible in my lounge. And don't make me wait for you." Levi gave out his first order to his maid and Emma could only suck up and go into the suite.

The first thing that caught her eyes upon entering was a painting of Levi directly opposite the door. He was so young.... in his late teens probably and he wore a dazzling smile on his face. He was in a squatting position and he had his arms stretched up like he was presenting something to someone above him.

His bright eyes were shimmering with happiness and his lips was lifted in a large arch. He wore a black T-shirt and black pants and the background looks like the side view of an ocean.

All in all, Emma was dazzled for a whole two minutes before she could take her eyes off the painting. She looked at it one more time before proceeding to the kitchen.

Entering the kitchen, she was left speechless by how big and beautiful the kitchen was. Although she wasn't a top chef like Andrea who cooks in fancy kitchen all day, she values the looks of a kitchen a lot. She personally designed their kitchen back at home but now she felt as though her kitchen was designed from thrash.

This kitchen was simply out of the world. It was painted sky blue mixed with white creating a beautiful pallette. There were several stars, blue and white, on all four walls of the kitchen. The wood used in designing was simply magnificent. From where she stood, the cupboards made a loopy design from half of one end of the wall, to the top of the middle, then it later came down to half of the last part of the wall.
