Hall of Fame

They sat down round the five large sofas in the room as they stared at the three people who just entered the room.

"So it's true huh... Sebastian really took in street goods." The youngest woman in the room said scornfully as she looked down on Emma.

"Stop it Cecile." Chairman Reigns rebuked.

"Take your seats." One of the old men in the room said, Levi and Emma then sat obediently in front of the seated elders. Chairman Reigns had his seat in between two of the old men so he sat there.

The four old men in the room were two generations older than Levi. The man who spoke before was the second oldest, Zede Reigns, and brother to chairman Reigns.

The other two old men were the junior brothers to Zede Reigns and are identical twins, John and Joe. Moving down, Zede has five sons and a daughter. He lost his daughter to cancer and his five sons remain. John and Josh coincidentally had three sons each while chairman Reigns had one, who he lost sometime ago.

The youngest woman in the room, Abi is the wife of Joe's son, Arab, and also Levi's youngest aunt. The rest of Levi's uncles had numerous wives and hardly brought any of them to family meetings so only Zede's eldest daughter inlaws were present.

"Do you know the consequences of your actions??" Zede asked Levi with a stern expression.

"I do. I can handle him." Levi replied lightly.

"This isn't about if you can handle him or not. Ben is still out there and you are giving him leverage to use against you. Do you know how much danger you will put her through??" John raised his voice in anger.

"But if I hadn't done what I did then Josh wouldn't have cancelled the marriage with Bella. You know fully well what Bella will bring into this family." Levi said.

"Enough now. Let's leave that aside for now." Chairman Reigns said tiredly as he looked at Emma who had a dumbstruck expression on her face.

"Danger?? What the hell are they talking about?? Emma thought in confusion.

Realization dawned on the elders that Emma was still in their midst and that she shouldn't know anything about their underworld problem so they kept quiet.

"Emma Duke... could you tell us why you agreed to marry Levi knowing the kind of personality he has??" One of the calm headed elders asked.

"Um.. because he's handsome?" Emma said which immediately left the elders speechless.

"You don't need to know that." Levi glared at the elder who asked the question. The elders are well aware of Levi's plan to use Emma as a shield against Bella but not of his real intention.

"We called both of you here to carry out the welcoming tradition of the newest member of the family. So please let's focus on what we are here for and discuss these stuff later." Joe said.

"So first, Emma will have to pay her respect in the ancestral hall and would commence her work. She will clean the hall of fame this morning and prepare a sumptuous dinner by sun down. We will meet again here after dinner to discuss the pressing issues at our hands." Chairman Reigns as the eldest in the room informed them all before going back to his room to rest.

The Reigns family is one that has existed for countless of decades and their traditions are very strict. There was severe punishment for anyone who disobeys their sacred laws and as such, their family is hard to come by.

Emma was escorted to the ancestral hall which occupies the grand building in the garden of Reigns mansion. It contains all the monuments and sacred treasures of their past ancestors.

Emma was told to carry out some procedures in respect to their ancestors and she did so without complaining. Then she had to clean the full room, including each and every picture of the thirty something ancestors in the room.

She finished her ancestral work at around 1pm and proceeded to the hall of fame. Once again, she was left dumbstruck by the sight before her. The place was as huge as Levi's sitting room by the mountain area and looks a lot like a Museum.

There were various stands scattered around the room, containing several belongings with the owner's name engraved below. She walked past an outdated set of Jewelry, a pair of shorts, wrist watch, pistol, and various items. She cleaned her way through them until she got to the wall of fame.

The famous Rema Reigns who died fighting for their freedom more than a hundred years ago was the first portrait she came across. He had the bearing of a kind as he stood tall dressed in the old military uniform.

And walking a little further, she saw his wife, Natalia Reigns. Rumors had it that she joined the military to pursue Rema and both of them started their relationship together. Moving through the ranks together, they both became generals at the same time.
