Chapter 29 Hope for the best

"What , what did you mean an army" ? , Eleanor asked.

"The goblin King troop of Over ten thousand goblins have invaded the city of Elgade , and they have been setting ablaze all the nearby villages , we have been taxed with eradicating the problem because we are the closet guild in the vicinity" , Mabel said .

" An army of that size with the goblin king himself leading them , that's is an A rank quest" , Eleanor said.

"Yes my lady , but with our A rank members busy with the dungeon we don't have enough fire power to take care of that kind of quest ", Mabel said.

"Gather all the available B ranked and C rank adventurers" , Eleanor said.

Miles had been taking it easy after the bandit quest two days ago and was already starting to get bored , ever since he discovered the system he has always spent all his time towards growing stronger , and after doing nothing for two whole days he decided it was finally time to kill some beast and get stronger when.

"Miles its a guild message from the guild why didn't you read the message", Lilly asked.

"Hmmm, because I don't know what it is or how to use it" , Miles said with a confused face.

" let me show you how to read a message" , Lilly said and started tinkering with the badge.

"So what is a guild message" ? , Miles asked.

" Its like an emergency message the guild sends to a adventurer in case of emergencies or to summon you" , Lilly said.

Just as Lilly was speaking she managed to open the message and the content of the message was read aloud by a voice which seemed robotic.

"Adventurer Miles head to the guild immediately your presence is needed", The robotic voice said.

"My presence is needed Lilly didn't receive this message , so could it be that I am the only one been called. " Miles thought.

Lilly I will be back soon I need to head to the guild hall, Miles said before heading out the door.

"Okay , bye ... Honey" , she said saying the last word in a hushed voice.

Lilly couldn't help but smile as she watched Miles leave , ever since Miles had been staying with her she had always behaved like his house wife and of course Miles had tried to stop her but she will always say I see you like a junior brother I never had so can't I just be your caring big sister , and of course Miles let her carry on .

Inside the guild hall on the first floor a group of one hundred B rank and C rank stood in front of the guild leader who was buying her time waiting for the last adventurer.

Miles walked into the guild hall immediately noticing the amount of stares he was receiving.

"Hey do you see that guy coming here he is the new B rank ", a C rank adventurer said.

" really."

"Yeah , I heard he killed a whole settlement of goblin alone".

" are you sure."

"Yeah , I even heard he had a beef with Vastor".

"Vastor the speed demon his he insane, I get he is new and all he doesn't understand how the system here works , how can a B rank challenge an A rank that is just suicide."

"Why are they all staring at me , could it be that they think I am strange, well I can't blame them , I mean am the only one not wearing armour here , I didn't know we where supposed to wear armour to occasions like this , and besides my armour is inside my inventory so if I need it I can just equip it in a second but nobody knows that " , Miles said.

Eleanor seeing the last adventurer enter the room decided it was time to explain why they where summoned .

" As you all know an A rank dungeon was sighted a few days ago , we gathered a strike team to clear the dungeon but we now face an invasion from the goblins , they have occupied Elgade city and brings destruction to the nearby villages and city , we have been taxed by the Capital to claim back the lands stolen by the goblins and send their force back into the woods , but now we are short on members you are all we can provide for the quest , we reported our predicament to the capital and they decided to aid us by sending us knights to aid you in the quest."

The knights shall be here between two days time , you are to get prepared before then and set of a day after to stop the goblin invasion , Eleanor said before heading back to her office.

The guild hall turned into an uproar with different people with their own opinion.

" A goblin invasion , shit am just a lowly C rank what difference can I make in an invasion" .

Meanwhile in the dungeon after successfully clearing the first floor the adventurers finally made it to the second floor.

Stepping into the second floor the adventurers immediately felt the difference between the two floors the heat coming from the second floor was almost times two of the first floor and the pressure had risen considerably to.

"Dammit what's up with this heat it's suffocating" , a B ranked said.

" I hear you bro , but I can't help but think we are far weaker than those A rank they are not even breaking a sweat."

Avrion was concerned of the increase in the heat and decided to speak with Zatiel.

"Do you think we can clear this dungeon at this rate ", Avrion asked.

" To be honest with you , am not really so sure but let's just hope for the best ", Zatiel said.
