Light Bulb

"What in the name of God!"

Were the first words that came out of Cami's mouth immediately that door was opened.

The term crazy now had a new meaning to me the moment we stepped behind that counter and into that cubicle.

I mean, I knew I was not actually expecting rainbows and a pot of gold in this ghostly godforsaken place. But at least, the whole atmosphere and decor of this... should I say 'office' weirded me out beyond measure.

But before that, the human being standing in front of us, was truly a sight to behold.

The man looked to be in his early thirties.

He was definitely the tallest guy I had ever seen in my life.

I was absolutely sure that he was at most, a seven in height.

But,that was not the most fascinating thing about this giant.

He was dressed in pink Barbie shorts and a suit jacket.

His hair was dyed with crazy shades of all the colors you could probably imagine.

Although, his handsome features were really obvious and outstanding, it was difficult to hold a straight face while looking at this man.

Upon sighting us,he gave a very warm smile that was almost like the ones mom used to give when she was around.

"Zizi! You brought friends!"

A really high pitched voice practically screamed at us.

Carl gave an amused smile while I was pretty intrigued by this peculiar character in front of us.

But one word didn't go unnoticed by Cami.

"Zizi what now?"

She coughed out a laugh.

The man maintained his large smile, not minding how uncomfortable all the paints and gold braces on his teeth, were making us feel.

"Hey Lightty...how's it going?"

Zee seemed really happy to see this dude.

Whoever he was,he must have been a really close person to Zee.

Lightbulb sniffed and wiped a fake tear with his perfectly manicured electric blue nails.

"Oh...Zizi. You have no idea how much I'm being bullied over here ever since you left!"

"Huh...what do you me..."

"So..."

Zee drawled, obviously trying to shut Cami off.

I didn't know if Cami noticed, but if she did,she did not give off any vibes.

"These are my friends, Rachael,Cami and Carl."

He motioned to us one after the other.

Lightbulb gave a sly smile.

"Oohh...Carl huh? He's a hot one!"

I swear that Zee turned an extra shade of red on his pale white skin.

"Stop it Light! No flirting with the clients, remember?"

The Christmas lights of a man rolled his eyes.

"Yh yh...I remember! It was the worst rule of the gang. I mean...you kept bringing in hot clients and it was so hard to keep a straight face especially when..."

"Wait a sec, what do you mean by 'gang'?"

Zee bit hard on his lips and shook his head at Lightbulb.

"Ohhhhh....I see. Well it's uhh...uhh what we liked to call ourselves back in the day. Right hun?"

Zee nodded slightly.

"Yh...it is."

"OK OK!! ENOUGH WITH THE BORING AND AWKWARD INTRODUCTIONS...LETS MARCH IN! I COOKED CHINESE!"

"Dude you don't have to shout... we're right here!"

Cami countered with a scowl.

The three sixty degree turn Lightbulb made, was really intimidating.

He stalked like a predator towards Cami, literally looking down on her behind his fan-like lashes.

"OH BELIEVE ME SWEETIE! I KNOW! AND DON'T GIVE ME THAT ATTITUDE! AS LONG AS I'M HERE... YOU CAN NEVER OUTBITCH ME!"

I know Cami was my friend but it didn't stop me from bursting out in laughter.

"BURN!!!"

Zee and Carl said in a breath.

Cami was red in anger but didn't say a word as she pushed me out of the way and stormed into the room.

"You have a quite...uh...unique taste in decoration."

Carl said, trying hard to hold back the laughter that was playing on his lips.

He was not kidding though.

Lightbulb's office was truly one to be questioned.

The large hall-like room looked like a rainbow barfed in there.

The colors, light and glitter were blinding to see. I began to see why he was called lightbulb.

He had a big light blue settee in the middle where about 10 people could comfortably fit.

Computer screens hung all over the walls, each blinking and showing different images and information.

At the end of the room was the pinkest kitchen I had ever seen in my life.

Zee assisted Lightbulb who was frying some eggs and dancing pretty well to Beyonce's All the Single Ladies.

Although I must admit that it was really funny seeing a 7ft tall man in barbie shorts dancing with so much vibes.

Cami was passed out on the sofa. I could tell all those bitching around got her tired.

Carl was walking around taking notes of the strange place.

I just rested my head on a stack of pillows, looking through how far we've come and how much we've discovered... Nothing.

***Zees's POV***

I once had a friend who said that everyone needed a friend.

At least just one friend.

Well,that boy died.

They all died.

I watched Lightty try to put on a strong front but I knew that deep down,he was as broken as I was.

He was the only one who stayed behind. He said that he had keep the flame burning.

He said he was the light. He wanted to burn so bright that even without them, everyone and everything we've ever fought for would still see out flame.

"You know we could talk about it."

He placed the plates he was holding on a silver tray.

"About what? Your man candy over there?"

He winked, motioning to Carl who was admiring the room or,I think he was.

I huffed a breath.

"Seriously Light."

He turned and brought out some weird looking stuff from the microwave.

He placed it gently on the table and turned to literally look down on me.

"I'm fine,Zizi. Don't worry about me."

He shook my shoulders and gave me a weak smile.

"Acid told me to stay strong. It was his last wish before he died. I was there and I promised him. I would never break that promise. EVER!"

I nodded slightly.

"It's you I'm worried about."

I raised a confused brow at him.

"What do you mean?"

"I wonder how you're doing with Tommy gone. I mean...I mean I know he was a god-damned son of a bitch. But it gotta hurt to know he was killed."

I shrugged.

Honestly,I didn't know what to think or feel right now. But I knew that deep down and inside,I was happy...scratch that...I was thrilled that he was gone.

"I'm just worried about mom. I haven't seen her for a while, and she won't answer my calls or respond to my texts."

I said, staring at the call log on my phone.

"We'll all be fine."

Light said solemnly.

"Maybe not today,or tomorrow,or heck even in the next ten years! But I know that we'll be fine someday. But until then..."

He tossed me a bottle of cold soda.

"Until then,we need to be strong."

Suddenly,all the seriousness was gone.

"Come on ya big baby!"

He grabbed the basket of food.

"Let's go get fat and find the darned killer!!"

I smiled at this amusement park of a man.

"Hell yeah we should!!"

"That's the spirit!"

1..2..3.. Let's go!!

*** Author's Note***

I really love Lightbulb

I just felt I should add someone else to the book to make it more interesting.

Have fun😊😊
