***Rachael's POV***

"Guys!"

Light called, finally looking up from his computer screens for the first time in almost two hours.

"Now y'all know why getting D.N.A samples and fingerprints cost a whole lot of money and clearance!"

He exclaimed.

"What do you mean?"

A half asleep Carl asked, grumpily.

We all tried to stay awake to 'help' Lighty. Key word_tried.

But after the long hours on the road, every one was pretty bummed.

Zee chuckled a bit, walking out of the kitchen with a cup of coffee, which I'm guessing wasn't his first judging from the dark bags under his eyes.

"What he means is that, all these data need high level clearance and access,so he had to hack into some top notch databases to get what we need. And now,we should all know how awesome he is! Right Lightly?"

The smug smile on his face was enough to tell us that Zee was telling the truth_one hundred percent.

"Ok...ok! Gather up peasants!"

I tapped Cami, who shot up wearily from her sleep.

"What's up?"

"It's Light...he's done with the samples."

We all piled up on the large sofa.

I could see everyone's faces. We were all worried and hoping for the best.

Light stood in front of us, looking more like a clown than a genius with three PhDs.

Yup! Zee told us all about it.

He was now putting on unicorn onsies with bright purple Barney flip flops,so it was a little difficult to believe that this dude even graduated from high school.

"I've ran the samples through most of the data bases I could hack into, and I've come up with three names_Gwen Thompson, Thompson Grey and Fray Bauer."

"Wait...what?"

Zee asked, completely baffled.

"Yes Zee,the blood is your dad's blood, and the key has two main finger prints, your mom and this Fray guy."

Lightly answered awkwardly.

Carl turned to Zee.

"Listen man, this proves nothing ok? It's your mom's key... so what?"

Zee shook his head.

"No...no that's not what I mean..."

He turned to Lighty.

"You know who that guy is right?"

"Fray Mark Bauer..."

Lightly started.

"Has been arrested three times on different charges_ranging from drug dealing, car jacking, rape and even attempted murder and conspiracy."

Our eyes widened at that realisation.

"Holy cow!"

Cami exclaimed.

"Do you think he killed your dad?"

"I...I don't know_ but he used to work with my dad some years back before he got into some shady ass business and got arrested. We haven't heard anything about him since then."

Cami shrugged.

"Well till now that is."

"So...if he's in the slammers, how the hell are his prints on a key in my dad's café?"

I asked the question that I guessed was on everyone's minds.

"How long do finger prints stay on stuff?"

Carl asked Lighty.

"Well...on metals like the key, fingerprints can last for about two and half years, and according to my findings,he was arrested four years ago for car jacking and attempted murder and was sentenced to twenty five years without parole"

"Are there any records of escape or stuff like that?"

Cami asked, now wide awake and fully alert.

"Well_ nope! According to my findings,Bauer is still locked up in Dew City's maximum security prison."

Light answered with a small frown.

Zee looked really frustrated.

"Don't worry dude, we'll find out what exactly happened."

Carl said softly, wrapping his arms around the younger guy.

"What if we asked Gwen? I mean, her prints we're found on the key as well. Maybe she could tell us why."

I suggested, clearly running out of options.

"That would be a bad idea. What are we gonna tell her? 'oh ma'am we're looking into the death of your husband, and your prints happen to be found on this key_could you happen to know why?"

Cami ran her fingers through her hair.

"The hell! I can't believe we came here for nothing! Like seriously, what if we're all chasing shadows huh? I mean_what if Jeffrey did really kill Tommy?"

Cami's statement threw everyone off balance in less than a second.

"YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR BLOODY GOD-DAMMED MIND!"

I screamed with every single anger and frustration I had in me.

Carl and Zee looked seriously dumbfounded while Lighty looked completely irritated.

"I knew it was just a matter of time till the bitch struck again."

Light said, boredly.

"Oh please shut up Rachael, you just don't want to admit that your dad's a bloody killer!"

Everyone was confused.

"What the hell Cami? What happened to 'he was like a dad to me', and 'we'll prove his innocence."

Carl asked, his voice breaking by the minute.

"WELL I LIED OK! I FUCKING LIED! Let's just face it, Jeff killed someone,he's not the cool innocent guy we all know and love. SUCK IT UP!"

I didn't know what got into me,but it was something dark and really really pissed.

With more anger than I could imagine could ever come from me, I slapped Cami hard on the face.

The impact was so much, she stumbled across the small glass table, breaking the whole thing.

"Ok that's enough now!"

Light said, clapping his hands.

"When I agreed to help you guys,I do not remember destruction of property being added to the list!"

"I can't believe what you're saying Cam! This is so shocking and so sudden! If dad gets taken, who then do we have huh? You have your mom,Zee has his mom, what about Carl and me huh?"

Tears were streaming down my eyes like water.

This was my best friend.

What had gotten into her so suddenly. She had been acting so weird ever since,it was not like her.

"Maybe it's because your off your meds."

I said, trying to see reason.

"No Rachael."

Lighty said, shaking his head.

"This much hate and anger is not something that meds could suppress or bring out_this is really Cami speaking.

Cami got up slowly.

Her back was injured and bleeding because of the glass.

"The truth hurts,Rachael. It hurts. Maybe when you learn to accept it, you'll finally find what you're looking for!"

"That's it! Get. The. Hell. Out!"

Carl said with burning eyes.

I saw that he was trying to hold it in,but I could swear he was just two seconds away from snapping and raining all hell on Cami.

Cami wiped a stray tear and walked to the door.

"I was wrong, Cami."

Lighty said in a sing song voice.

"You can out-bitch me,and you sure out did yourself with this stunt."

With a flash of her middle finger, Cami slammed the door, walking out into the dead of the night.

"Ok..."

Zee started, confusion written all over his face.

"What just happened."

Carl shook his head slowly.

"I...I don't know."

We sat in silence for about thirty minutes, watching the clock tick and trying to comprehend what just happened.

After what seemed like a whole eternity of silence,Lighty walked to the middle and faced all of us.

"Listen,I understand that bitch queen there really surprised all of us...well except me cos a bitch can smell another bitch, even hundred miles away."

"Cami's not a bitch!"

I shot, trying to give her a benefit of doubt.

"Yeaahhh...sure! I'm pretty sure she just called your father a killer, and gave us a middle finger before slamming my door! If that doesn't spell a God dammed female dog, I don't know what does!"

When no one said anything,I knew that they all silently agreed.

"Anyways, we need to plan out our next step of action. Now we have this Bauer guy's name,we need to do something."

Lighty explained.

"Lighty's right. We need to work with what we've got. Every single second that goes by, dad's court date gets closer."

I nodded, agreeing totally with Carl's statement.

"So what's the next step?"

Zee asked, with another cup of coffee in his hands.

He seemed really relaxed now that Cami was gone, and I could definitely understand why.

"We have to go to Dew City and find Bauer. We've got some questions to ask him."

Everyone nodded, agreeing with Carl.

"You sound so hot Carly!"

Lighty squealed like a fan girl.

"We have to go to Dew City and find Bauer. We've got some questions to ask him."

"Oh my God,man cut it out!"

Zee was clearly embarrassed by his friends action.

But Carl looked really flattered. as Lighty gave Carl a flirty wink which I almost threw up at.

"Stop it,Lighty! You're embarrassing me?"

Zee groaned.

But Lighty could not care less.

"Am I? Am I reaally...or is it because you're jealous?"

"What? N...NO! I..."

Before Zee could complete his defence statement, there was a knock on the door and from the way Lighty's expression changed,he was not expecting visitors.

"Are...are you expecting someone?"

I asked wearily.

"Of course not!"

He answered, almost in a whisper.

Then the words came next.

"Joseph Snow, Captain Carson Rain, RCPD! Open up!"
