River of Soul

Looking from far away you see a river traveling slowly forward. Upon closer look you can see the river being made of small individual particle. Upon further closer look and for those who are knowledgeable, those particles are the soul coming from all the universes and waiting for their reincarnation after erasing their memory. In between all those souls of humanoid, reptilian, birds and all other kind of animal, you can notice Max in his humanoid shape, of course you wouldn't known its him after all those souls have similar properties and there are a lot of humanoid type souls around him. Like all the souls around his soul eye was glossy and not focused as if in deep sleep and was just flowing with the current of river. After being in the soul river for unknown amount of time, the soul of Max was teleported out and into a simple room with one other creature present. After some time, the glossy eyes of Max slowly cleared and begin to fill with glow of intelligence. After colleting himself after few moments and looked around.

'Huh, where is this? I know I only slept after being awake for few days completing my new project, but it shouldn't have any hallucinating effect as I have done it numerous times. Maybe I have outdone myself and fallen into a lucid dream'

As thinking of such he began falling into his back. The man sitting opposite of him seemed amused due to his antics and waited.

'Huh I am still in the dream. I really need to end this as I want to work on my next project'

"Hahaha, this is not a dream as you think it is, this is a world between all universe where the souls are reborn after getting their memory erased."

Max hearing this got more focused and looked around, looking at the man opposite of him wearing a black robe having a deep black eyes and hair with a normal face. He also saw the river of soul out of the window, although he couldn't look closely into it he guessed it must be souls as those are the only thing with color in the all black world he is right now, if what the man opposite to him said was true.

"Can you read mind?"

The man shook his head and replied "No, if I look into your memories in your soul form your soul would be shatter as I do not have fine energy control, making my karma lower. I just guessed based on your antics. Like who falls on their back just after unlocking their memories."

After fully collecting himself in few moments and accepting this as true for the time moment Max replied "Karma huh? So is there heaven and hell then. If so is that the reason why I have called her, to be judged by my action in life?"

"Hahaha, no karma only is applied to immortal being like us, not for your mortal soul. It was created by the highest being so we cannot abuse our powers. And there is no such thing as heaven and hell, all mortal is equal in the eye of god, so you just reincarnated after getting your memory erased and transported into newborns."

Being surprised and slightly curious "So you are not god then, that's surprising. If I am not here to judged why did you call upon me out of all of those souls in river."

"Of course, I am not a god, I am just tasked to work here and have control. Moving on the reason you are here instead of following the river of sea is because of different past life you lead than what was predicted, so you are one of the few but not too uncommon soul who followed a different path in life."

"Huh that's curious, so what was my life supposed to be like and why was it different than what was foreseen."

"Most common reason is because of another abnormal soul who changed your supposed path in life which causes a domino effect to other soul. So, it's not too uncommon to see those souls to be affect by it, although its not normal either. As for what your life should be like, let's see."

Say so the man pulled the book that was near him from the beginning closer looked at it for a few moments. "So, you were supposed to be a scientist and due to your creativity, you were supposed to be led the science of your world by few decades forward. That's interesting you were supposed to do something grand but didn't do it which is very unusual and opposite of what usually happens."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Well people usually do something grand weather good or bad as most people are normal forgotten people who are influenced thus changing their path."

Now more intrigued by the workings of the hidden world Max asked "Interesting, so what really caused the change in my life"

"Well let's see" saying so he flipped the page and glanced for a bit. After that he developed a frown and seemed to get more serious.

"Well I thought you were just another of many souls who change their path due an incident in your life like many other, but it seems things are more complicated in your case."

Now fully hooked into the case Max asked "So what my problem" seemingly uncaring about that there might be a problem in his case, he asked trying to solve the mystery.

"Well it seems you haven't really been influenced by domino affect of the cause, and when you did encounter them later in life you had already deviated far from your set path, so they are not the cause of it. In-fact as you grew older you are the cause of domino effect of other souls from their set path." Saying so the man frowned, Max noticing this asked, "What happened?"

"Well I'm just annoyed that you created more work for me, as I look over the deviated souls, and more than that it seems the problem originated from your past life."

"Sorry for the extra load, but I'm now very interested in the cause of my deviated path, so can you tell me what of my past life caused the deviation?"

"Well no, as I said before I cannot look into your soul, and I am too weak for that. In-fact my superior can only look at your memories, but not your past life as that is usually locked very deep in your soul. So, I'll have to send you're the God, the highest being."

"Now that is very interesting, to think I have the chance to meet God."

"Yeah, you certainly are interesting as your past life shouldn't affect your future life, as such there is no heaven or hell and we do not care for those things. And you should be thankful as not many people get to personally meet god. Even I haven't met him. Now I will send you to him, hold still."

"Wait before that I have a question. I noticed that in soul river there are different shapes of animals in soul form, what is the cause of it?"

"Well when mortal soul gets reincarnated, they get their memories erased and are then put into the body of at least somewhat intelligent creature randomly. The soul form they take is from their last life. In their future travel through river of soul, the same soul will most likely change their shape. Now get going I have other soul to attend to."

Saying so the man waved his hand and flash of light greeted Max. After a short amount of time, he saw a normal looking old man who was currently meditating.

The old man opened his eyes and said, "So you are the soul that I got informed about."
