Chapter 13: Escaping Azkaban

Jon's relentless taunting had pushed Bellatrix, already teetering on the edge of sanity, into a state of frenzied madness.

Having had his fill of this twisted game, Jon decided it was time to make his move. Bellatrix, in her current state, posed no threat even if she were to escape.

"Time for action!" he said to himself.

His body ignited with an ethereal flame as he activated his spirit of vengeance form. With a swift jerk, he shattered his chains, repurposing one into a whip imbued with hellfire.

Approaching the prison door, he extended his fiery hand, melting the iron bars with ease. As he stepped into the dark corridor, a group of dementors, sensing the disturbance, swooped towards him.

Yet, upon witnessing Jon's Ghost Rider form, they froze in terror.

An idea sparked in Jon's mind. "Perhaps I can bend these creatures to my will," he mused.

With a sweeping gesture, he encircled the dementors with hellfire. They recoiled instinctively, fear radiating from them.

"Submit to me, or perish!" Jon commanded.

At his words, the dementors trembled, falling to the ground, their bodies engulfed in flames. Yet, instead of being consumed, they seemed to be tamed by Jon.

"Excellent," Jon commended, his flaming skull nodding in satisfaction.

He then turned his attention to another cell, where Bellatrix Lestrange, driven to insanity by his torment, was shackled. Her hair was wild, her eyes vacant, resembling a lifeless husk.

Jon hurled his fire chain, ensnaring her. Bellatrix, previously silent, let out a piercing scream as the hellfire traveled along the chain, engulfing her. Soon, her body was reduced to ashes.

Upon hearing the mission update, Jon absorbed Bellatrix's memories and a portion of her magic. He was taken aback by the wealth of information he received, including a comprehensive list of Death Eaters.

"Voldemort's confidante indeed. This makes things much easier," Jon murmured.

Armed with this knowledge, Jon could now target the Death Eaters directly, bypassing the need to sift through the prison's population. Not all inmates of Azkaban were hardened criminals; some were victims of circumstance or minor offenders. Only those like the Death Eaters, who had partaken in mass murder, met the criteria for his mission.

Jon had no intention of indiscriminately executing innocents. He would only act after confirming the severity of their crimes. Moreover, the rewards of his task were the memories and magic power of the condemned, making it more beneficial to target powerful villains.

"Dementors!" Jon summoned. The creatures, still trembling, floated towards him.

With a wave of his hand, he sent several orbs of hellfire towards them. Instead of being incinerated, the dementors merged with the flames, becoming extensions of Jon's will.

"I grant you my power. You are no longer bound by the restrictions of this place," Jon declared, scattering flames that formed words on the ground - the names of the Death Eaters.

"Bring these prisoners to me. Now!"

At his command, the skeletal dementors, now aflame, dispersed in all directions of Azkaban.

Soon, several Death Eaters were herded before Jon.

"By Merlin's beard, are you... sent by the Dark Lord to save us?" one of them asked, mistaking Jon's sinister appearance and control over the dementors as signs of allegiance with Voldemort.

As the Death Eaters were presented to him, Jon heard a series of system prompts.

"I'm afraid I'm here to disappoint you. I'm here to kill you," Jon retorted, swinging his fire chain. The first Death Eater to make contact was instantly reduced to ashes.

[800 penalty points awarded]

Witnessing their comrade's fate, the remaining Death Eaters recoiled in terror. But before they could react, Jon's chain of fire struck them down.

Jon reveled in the continuous stream of rewards, despite not fully understanding the purpose of the penalty points. After reducing several Death Eaters to ashes, he gained a wealth of memories and magic power, which took some time to assimilate.

Once he had digested the influx of information, Jon reverted to his human form.

"Azkaban, an isolated island in the ocean, will not be easy to escape from," Jon mused, signaling the dementors to follow him.

"It appears I'll need some external assistance."

....

In the basement of a leased property in Diagon Alley, a colossal, silver-grey dragon named Igris was sprawled on the floor, deep in slumber. Having been rejuvenated by the hellfire, Igris was brimming with vitality. His gleaming grey scales were a sight to behold, and the scars that once marred his body had vanished.

Suddenly, his eyes snapped open, as if responding to a call from his master. Rising slowly, he unfurled his massive wings and with a powerful leap, his enormous form took to the air.

Outside, the commotion stirred the curiosity of bystanders. As they turned their gaze towards the source of the noise, a monstrous figure burst through the roof. A dragon, majestic and awe-inspiring, soared into the clouds and disappeared into the horizon.

...

After an indeterminate amount of time, Jon emerged from the cells, a retinue of over a dozen dementors trailing behind him. He found himself in a secluded part of the island, shrouded in mist.

In truth, Azkaban housed hundreds of dementors, and Jon had the power to commandeer them all. However, removing all the dementor guards from Azkaban would inevitably lead to a mass breakout, plunging the wizarding world into chaos. Moreover, Jon had no need for such a large number of dementors.

Peering into the distance, Jon's vision was obscured by the dense fog. He had recently summoned Igris using his ghost rider bond, and if all went according to plan, Igris would arrive shortly.

Suddenly, Jon noticed a flicker of flame in the thick dark clouds. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was the fire from Igris's mouth. Igris, breaking through the dense fog, landed on the island, his colossal form casting a large shadow.

"You're finally here, buddy!" Jon greeted, reaching out to pat Igris's head. Igris responded by lowering his head in cooperation.

Jon then climbed onto Igris's back, using the dragon's wings for support.

"Let's head back to Diagon Alley and reclaim our little friends!" Jon said. At his command, Igris flapped his enormous wings, lifting his massive body into the air, followed by the eerie procession of dementors.
