After a delightful lunch together, Jill and Alice returned to work, while Alex, Angela, and Terri remained at the Villa, basking in their leisurely mood. Given the relaxed atmosphere, the trio opted to unwind by setting up a TV in the living room and playing a movie they found on a DVD during Alex's previous outing to a nearby town.

In this post-apocalyptic world, TV programs ceased to exist a mere two months ago, much earlier than depicted in the movie where the global outbreak occurred several years later. Within this brief span, not even the United States could withstand the chaos for more than a month, let alone other countries.

Reflecting on the rapid spread of the virus, Terri expressed her concern, "It's only been two months since the global outbreak. How could it spread so rapidly? You mentioned that it might have been caused by Umbrella deliberately spreading the virus worldwide."

Alex replied, "It's possible, and highly likely. Umbrella seeks to control the world, and their cloning technology is remarkably advanced. They must have amassed a vast collection of human genes over time, enabling them to clone humans easily. That's why they seem indifferent to current human life," he continued, gently playing with Terri's waist-length hair. Since receiving the Evolution Serum, Terri had undergone a remarkable transformation, experiencing an increase in both physical and spiritual strength, becoming a stunning beauty, rated 8.9 out of 10.

Curious about their next move, Terri snuggled into Alex's embrace and inquired, "So what do we do now?"

In response, Alex reassured her, "I've asked the Red Queen to use satellites to block any communications around this town since we arrived. The Red Queen has control over several satellites, both domestic and foreign. So, we need not worry about being discovered here. We can only find the Umbrella company if they make an appearance. Attacking recklessly would only force them into hiding, and that wouldn't bode well for us."

"I understand," Terri acknowledged, nestling in Alex's arms, cherishing the tender moment.

———

"Big Brother, there's a convoy heading our way," the virtual projection of the Red Queen suddenly appeared, reporting to Alex.

"Oh, really? Where is this convoy coming from? Is it a disguise orchestrated by Umbrella?" Alex asked, intrigued by the Red Queen's address.

"No, it's not Umbrella. I have traced their path, and it seems they are a group of refugees or fugitives moving towards us. They must have been drawn here by the rumors you asked me to spread while we were purchasing materials for building the base, Big Brother," the Red Queen explained.

"Hmm... How long until the convoy reaches us?" Alex inquired further, as he had ordered the Red Queen to spread these rumors to attract refugees once the apocalypse started.

"It'll take about two hours to reach the mountain pass," the Red Queen replied.

"Notify the Security Department, ask them to be vigilant, and find out who these people are," Alex instructed the Red Queen. He also requested the 500-strong army defending the mountain pass to be on high alert, though he remained reasonably composed.

"Okay, Big Brother," the Red Queen responded before her projection disappeared.

"Could they be fugitives?" Terri pondered aloud.

"I'm not sure. I'll go and have a look later."

"I'll come along too. After all, there's nothing else to do right now," Terri said, planting a kiss on Alex's cheek.

"I will also go," Angela chimed in, who had been quietly listening to their conversation.

"Alright, we'll go together later," Alex agreed, feeling a bit amused.

A convoy set out from the villa. Under the protection of fully armed guards, Alex, Terri, and Angela embarked on the journey to the mountain pass in the car.

As they passed through Star Town, the atmosphere remained harmonious, devoid of chaos. However, in this new world, money was no longer in use; instead, materials were exchanged through earned points obtained by labor.

Appreciating the safety and provisions offered by Alex, the refugees were grateful to him. Not only did he offer them shelter, but he also allowed them to exchange their labor for essential materials, faring much better than in the outside world. Having encountered zombies outside, they had become acutely aware of the dangers, which discouraged any thoughts of rebellion in the town. They knew the strength of the Town army, and Alex had occasionally showcased his power, ensuring their obedience.

The convoy arrived at the mountain pass in about 20 minutes. Alex and his group exited the car and looked up at the nearly 20-meter-high wall. They stepped into the elevator and reached the top of the high wall.

"Report, Major Mike of the Security Department has met the officers. Please come this way, Ma'am Alice is waiting for you," Mike saluted Su Chen, Terri, and even Angela.

Alex waved his hand and said, "Okay, lead the way."

"Yes, Sir!" Mike saluted before leading the way to where Alice awaited them.

Mike guided the group to the observation deck on the Wall, where they met Alice, who warmly greeted Alex with a kiss as soon as they met.

Seeing Angela's cheeky response to their display of affection, everyone in the group laughed. It was an open secret among them that Angela had feelings for Alex, ever since confessing her desire to marry him in the future.

"Where is Jill?" Alex inquired while wrapping his arms around Alice and Terri's slim waists, while Angela stood close, hugging him between them.

"She decided to stay behind to take care of some work," Alice said, snuggling into his embrace.

After a while, the convoy of 20 to 30 vehicles appeared before them, primarily consisting of civilian vehicles, such as cars, pickups, and even school buses, indicating they were on an escape.

"These are people fleeing," said Alice, observing the convoy. "Shall we let them in? Look, there are many children."

"Mike, tell them all to get out of the vehicles, and then have someone collect their weapons," Alex ordered.

"Yes, sir."
