If there is one sentence that can summarise my initial meeting with Amanda Wu, it is that she is a force to be reckoned with. As I eavesdropped on the faint conversation, with an eager Claire alongside me, the voices above us suddenly fell silent. Footsteps echoed on the floorboards and with one glance between us, Claire and I fled our spots and headed for the kitchen to look preoccupied and innocent.

Grabbing a random glass, I start to rinse it. I haven't felt this childish since the time I replaced Reese's hairspray with a can of green paint. I just stood there with a puzzled look on my face, while my macho brother screamed the house down like a little girl. "Claire?" Gomez pokes his head around the door, making eye contact with me as I turn around to survey him. "Amanda wants a word."
