Moonlit Chronicles of the Unambitious Magician

This is the story of a young man who was reincarnated in Nasuverse and remembered the memories of his past life four years before the Fourth Fuyuki Holy Grail War with a Yamato from Devil May Cry. This is the first time I write something. Thank you for having me. Thank you Izumi Yamazaki for the cover photo. Oz and Lorelei looks amazing! Twitter account of the artist: @izumi_yamazaki7

Chapter 16

I am sorry, guys. Please bear with me for this chapter. The first half is a little SOLish and I don't even know what am I writing in the second half. It was too hassle to search for information about places to visit during the 1990s.

And why do people still add the previous s***ty version into their library?

--------------

Today, I took a leave from the café. Tomorrow is the battle of Tokyo Bay and I want to have some fun time before that. The three of us i.e.; Nobu, Misaya, and I had decided to visit Chidori-ga-fuchi together. It is currently spring and is also Hanami season. I prepared the picnic basket and a mat to lay on the grass to watch sakura trees.

After finished preparing ourselves, the three of us are set to go. The ideal time to watch the flower is around 4 in the evening. Thus, we went to visit other places first since it is only 11 in the morning. I left the basket and the mat at home because I don't want to carry them around while we are looking around. I can come and get it with Yamato when we finished visiting places.

At first, we went to 'Ginza Sushiko Honten' to eat some sushi. I will be honest. They are delicious. They are very delicious that even Nobu is impressed. Little Misaya is eating those with gusto. It is already 12 when we finished eating.

I had decided not to visit temples when Nobu is around. I don't want her to burn down those temples while we are visiting. So, we had decided to go to Asakusa Hanayashiki for Misaya.

Asakusa Hanayashiki is the oldest amusement park in Japan and was opened as a flower park in 1853 when Commodore of the US Navy Matthew Calbraith Perry visited the country in the late Edo era. We had fun playing around there. Misaya seems to enjoy the roller-coaster ride. This is good. She looks sad from time to time because of her father's death. At least she enjoyed her time here.

We hailed the taxi and went toward Hamarikyu Gardens which is about 17 minutes ride away. It was already 1:15 when we got there.

Hamarikyu Gardens is a public park in the Chūō ward, located at the mouth of the Sumida River. Nobu, after seeing the villa, "So, this is the villa of the descendants of Motoyasu?"

"He later changed his name to Ieyasu but to answer your question, yes," I replied.

"I know about that. He changed before I died. Hmm… his descendants lacked in taste," she said while crossing her arms under the breasts.

"Sure… sure… nobody is as culture as the great and powerful Nobunaga," I snide.

She gave me a glare. "Let's go to the teahouse in the middle of the pond," I said.

"The pond?"

"Shioiri-no-ike. It is at the east of Shinsen-za kamoba duck pond and is also a saltwater pond," I tried to explain. "There is an island in Shioiri-no-ike and the place we are going, Nakajima no Ochaya was first built on there in 1707," I added.

It is already 3 P.M when we finished resting in the teahouse. Nobu seems to satisfy with the matcha and sweets. Now, it is time to go to Chidori-ga-fuchi. Again, we hailed the taxi and went there for about 13 minutes ride.

We first decided to visit Chidori-ga-fuchi National Cemetery. It is a memorial for 352,297 unidentified war dead of the Second World War, located near the inner moat of the Imperial Palace and Yasukuni Shrine. Looking at the cemetery, Nobu gave them a salute. Even if she failed to unite Japan, it was one of her dreams. Of course, she would be proud and sad for those who fought and died for her dream country.

I Yamato(ed) back home and grabbed the basket and the mat. We found a free spot and place our mat. Then brought out sandwiches, karaage, onigiri, Ebi-fry, and some Dango to eat. For drinks, I had prepared miso soup, orange juice, chuhai, sake, and beer. It was already 3:45 when we finished preparing for our seats.

"This is the first I come for Hanami," little Misaya said.

"Hmm? Haven't you come here with your parents before?" I asked.

"No, father is too busy with his works and mother does not enjoy these kinds of things," she replied a little downcast.

"Then more the reason for you to enjoy your time with us," Nobu said while grinning.

At that time, an old couple beside us comment, "Oh my, the child is cute."

"Oh, thank you," I replied while bowing my head a little.

"She seems to take after her mother's hairs and eyes," the old lady said while looking at Nobu and Misaya. Nobu had changed her hair into black for today's outing. I mean, to have blood-red hair in Japan is not normal. This is not anime to… Oh, I am in one.

"I am blessed with them," I replied with my smile. I mean, fake it till make it, right? Misaya looks overwhelmed and her eyes became watery. I patted her head to reassure her.

After that, the couple goes "ho ho ho," and went back to mind their own business.

"I know you are there, Lancer. You can come out," I look at the tree behind us. Which, she came out without her battle form. She is wearing a grey jacket over a purple blouse, blue long pants with stripe and short black short pants over it. Of course, she is wearing a glass.

(AN; for those who don't know how she looks, just search for 'Heroic Spirit Traveling Outfit: Brynhildr'. I am very bad at describing clothes. Ah, F it. The picture is in this paragraph's comment.)

"Do you need anything?" I asked.

"I…" she seems hesitant.

"You can join us if you like, Lancer," Nobu said from the side.

"Can I?" she seems hopeful. And are those stars I am seeing in her eyes?

"Sure," I said. I can't say no to that look. Just look at her. I bet you won't be able to deny her request if she looks at you like it.

She looks overjoy and joins the picnic by sitting beside me. She then looks at Misaya sitting beside her and patted her head.

"So, how do you know we are going to have a picnic here?" I asked.

"Oh, it was by my intuition," she replied. 'It was my Sigurd radar,' she thought.

"I see," I gave her the sandwich.

"Thank you," she said. "The same taste," she muttered.

"You say something?" I asked.

"No, nothing." She replied. Hah, it seems I need to reinforce my hearing to hear what they are muttering.

I looked at Lancer who is nibbling her sandwich, Nobu who is drinking sake while looking up the sakura trees, and lastly Misaya who is looking around the trees while holding a Dango stick in her hand. I don't know why but I felt peace inside me. Now, I suddenly miss Lorelei.

"By the way, Lancer. Why did you call me Sigurd?" I asked.

"Hmm? I mean, you were Sigurd before." She replied like she is stating the fact.

"Lancer," Nobu growled.

"Don't worry about it, Knight," Lancer replied. "They said they will tell him later. But, won't telling him sooner is better?" she added.

"Hah," Nobu sigh. "So, what am I doing before? It made me look like a fool," she rubs her forehead.

"Not to be rude but you *are* the Fool," I snide.

"Shut up you," she pouted.

"So, if I were a Sigurd, why didn't your Lance act up? Is it because I am no longer Sigurd?" I turned toward Lancer.

"No, it should act up. If it were my other replica(servant), they might stab you the moment they saw you," she said. "Good thing is that this is the same servant body as before. That is the reason why I don't need to stab you."

"Okay, I am lost. Please explain."

"I mentioned ExE, Red Dragon Emperor, and White Dragon Emperor, right?" she asked.

"Yes."

"What are they?" she asked again.

"They are from DxD… Don't tell me." There was a light bulb.

"Yes, DxD. The world where you wished to have the body of Sigurd and his skillset," she said.

"Wait. You mean I had reincarnated before?"

"Yes. Now to continue, when you summoned into that world, I stabbed the moment I laid my eyes on you. It went on like that for over five years and after your first debut in the underworld's rating game, father Odin, hearing another Brynhildr is in a devil's peerage, came over with his own version of Brynhildr," she stated.

"Wait, I was a devil? May I know which clan?"

"Belial clan. You were the son of the Emperor. I will continue to explain. After hearing about me, he came and demanded an explanation and about Chaldea which you announced at the rating game. You said, 'I can summon heroes from the throne, why stop after reaching the amount of the maximum amount for the peerage.' And thus, you got an idea to form Chaldea in that world. But you couldn't summon Sigurd and his other form, Siegfried."

I gulped. I created Chaldea in that world? What the hell were you thinking, DxD me!

"I got sidetracked. After knowing I am the Brynhildr from the legend, they looked absolutely horrified. He said even he couldn't bear to punish the way my Lord Odin punished me. He punished his version of Brynhildr by making her clean the toilet for over 10 years. Lord Odin even apologized for our world version of him. As an apology, he gave me back my divinity and helped me fix my noble phantasm to be able to control my urge to stab you, though he said it would only work with this body. He was not strong enough to fix it up to actual heroic spirit."

A moment of silence for DxD world's Brynhildr. She must have suffered a lot.

"I was your first servant which you summoned at the age of 10," Nobu grinned.

I glanced at her, "Shotacon."

"What?! No!" she tried to deny it.

It was truly shocking that I had a previous reincarnation before. I now know why Nobu is acting strange when I first summoned her. Wait, only DxD? Or have I reincarnated more than that? My head hurts. I had decided not to think more about it.

It is already 6 P.M. when we decided to go back home. Although Lancer seems to know the previous me, I don't know her. All I know about her is from the wiki. We say goodbye and she vanished into gold particles. I then Yamato(ed) back to our home.

"Nobu! Please take care of the dishes. I need to go out for a bit," I shouted to her from the gate.

I am now standing in front of the Sajyou mansion. The homunculus said nothing and lead me toward Caster's room. Strange, I haven't seen Manaka yet. If it were like usual, she would be the first to come and meet me.

"Caster, did you finish it?" I asked.

"Yes, here it is." And he handed me the box.

"Thank you, you save me some troubles. It would be about 6 years before I use this," I took the box and went back home to call it a day.

Now, about the Chaldea in DxD world, I took the reference and idea from a fanfic named 'A new beginning' by Tammazzu. It was last updated in 23.6.2019. Please give it a try.
