Ch. 6 Gift from Lady

After almost 15 minutes we arrived at the destination.

I slowly walked out of the car and looked at the Sanctum Sanctorum.

In the sun, It looked high and mighty but it also gave me many thoughts.

Even though I came here, I didn't know how to go and talk to Ancient One.

Should I go in as Normal? Does she know about me? How will Ancient One react? Will she treat me as a threat?

Still, I took a deep breath and walked toward the door only to be stopped after two steps.

"Are you going in?" Happy asked me from behind, looking at him my emotions became complicated again.

"This..."

Now, this is a problem. What should I do with Happy? I don't want to take him in...ah yes

My eyes shined as I looked at Happy and asked him

"Happy, can you buy me some pizza?"

"What now, why?" He asked then I explained

"You know, I like pizza and my mom also likes pizza and I am sure Miss Pots will also like it, there is this store named 'Bleecker Street Pizza' three minutes from here why don't you go and buy some."

I said this while making an exciting face, he looked at me for some time and sighed then said

"Ok, I will go but first you go inside."

"Yea, sure, why not"

I said and ran toward the sanctum front door.

After reaching the door I saw Happy sitting inside the car and waving his hand telling me to go inside.

I nodded and knocked on the door.

"Come in"

A soft voice came from inside, just by listening I knew that it was the voice of Ancient One.

I then slowly opened the door and walked inside. Compared to the outside the space inside was big, I even saw many items all over the place, god knows how many of them were magical items.

I then slowly walked to the stairs that were in the middle of the hall and climbed to the above floor.

And what I feared happened, Ancient One, the current Sorcerer Supreme was sitting there on a chair with a smile on her face.

This whole scene if translated into words would surely be Ancient One saying

'I know who you are.'

But I still maintained my composure and walked toward her.

After I reached in front of her, she looked at me and said

"Sit..."

"Where...never mind"

As I said I saw a chair appear behind me.

I sat on it and silently looked at Ancient One, she also had the Eye of Agamotto on her neck but I ignored it. she also looked at me and this happened for almost another minute.

After that, I tried breaking the silence

"Mm...I am Alex Stacy"

"I know" she said slowly.

"then can you teach me how to use mana?" I just asked her straight, she knows about me so there was no need to beat around the bushes.

"No" she said

"What, why?" I asked with shock on my face, I had thought that this would be easy, because if She knows me then she should have seen the future but looks like she doesn't want to teach me.

As if reading my thoughts she spoke

"Mana that you are talking about and Eldritch Magic are different, mana is the energy released by the earth but the Eldritch magic that we teach at Kamar-taj uses the energy that is released by our Dimension or by other dimensions and you won't be able to use mana even if I teach you because the earth now has very little mana left because of pollution and degradation of nature."

Listening to all this I became sad and asked her again

"Is there any other way?"

She looked at me and my expression and said

"Well, I won't be able to teach you mana but I can give you something"

My eyes shined as I heard her, I looked and saw her making some hand signs.

At first, nothing happened but then I saw that the Eye of Agamotto on her chest started to open up.

"That is..."

The glow of the time stone shocked me, but before I could say something Ancient one took the stone out of the locket and bought it in front of me and said

"Touch it"

"What no, nonononono...I am not going to touch that thing. Do you want me to die?"

I said moving backwards on the chair.

who in the right mind would go and touch an infinite stone.

"Touch it, quickly " she said again with a serious expression on her face.

I was startled by her expression

Why is she serious? Why does she want me to touch the stone? What is going on?

"Are you touching it or not?" she said again this time with a somewhat angry expression.

Looking at her face I felt scared and slowly said

"Ok"

I then moved my hand toward the stone and touched it.

Just as I touched it I heard a sweet sound rang in my head then my power status screen appeared and started showing many messages.

[Ability acquired]

[Universe Train ticket acquired]

My mouth was wide open as I looked at all this message and then toward Ancient One with shock.

She then placed the stone back in the locket and said

"You got your power, no go. That man is waiting outside."

As I heard this, I felt the world shift and in the next moment I was on the ground floor.

This was a unique find, I didn't know that something like this would happen so I looked backwards and yelled

"THANK YOU"

"Just go" the soft voice of Ancient One came from above.

I then nodded and walked out of the sanctum.

Outside, I looked and saw Happy standing in front of the door with five boxes of pizza.

"Pizza" I yelled cheerfully and quickly took a box from Happy and ran toward the car.

"Don't run" Happy also yelled from behind and walked toward the car.

I was going to enter the car but stopped as an idea came to my mind.

I then ran again toward the door and placed the pizza box on the front of the door and yelled

"Thank you, again"

Then ran to the car.

Happy who was now in the driver seat looked at this and asked

"Why did you put it there?"

"Don't worry, it's magic." I said and sat on the back seat and started eating the pizza.

Happy just sighed and started driving the car.
