“We’ll just have to make sure we find her first then,” he said. Opening the microwave, he was pleasantly surprised to see two mugs of blood waiting inside and took them out. “Did you come up with any other leads on where she is?”

“A few. They’re not using their own names, so it’s taking a while to find where they might be staying.” Picking up his drink, Edmund sipped the hot liquid. “Did you get any sleep at all last night?”

“Enough.” He wasn’t going to talk about this. If Edmund was going to keep steering the conversation back to the events in his bedroom, Mathias needed to walk away. Now. “Thanks for the breakfast,” he said, taking his mug and heading for the living room. “I’ll leave you to yours. Now that you’re out of the way, Jack and Tony are calling for me on your lovely widescreen.”

Edmund didn’t stop him. Mathias was only a little disappointed.
