••••••••

A loud sound erupted around the meeting room and everyone turned to its source. Christian stood up adjusting his tie in anger. The young Alpha vexed everyone in the room with that ridiculous act but they were too shocked to speak.

"What do you mean? Are you afraid?" He rudely asked the elders who were already angry at his outburst.

He couldn't believe his ears, the elders were actually about to leave the monster to roam the supernatural world as far as he wasn't causing any trouble?

"Sit down Alpha Christian! You are creating a farce!" One of the elders spoke with authority which made the twenty-three Alphas in the room tremble. The twenty-fourth one, however, still stood on his seat controlled by his anger.

"Think of it. What if he decides to end us all? We can find someone. They could help us." He persuaded.

"Shut your trap Christian and sit down." The eldest talked and the others bowed their heads. Christian sat down knowing that he had angered the werewolf godfather.

"Help from who if I may ask?" His voice suddenly became calm again, urging the angry Alpha to speak.

"I know of a witch. She's good." He said and the room became quiet as everyone stared at him dumbfounded.

"How dare you?" The godfather asked slowly and stood up. Christian tried to defend himself.

"She's good, hones-"

"Get out. Clear your head and return with a better plan. We aren't inviting any witches." The godfather scolded making Christian's face contort in anger.

He bowed and left the room with the other Alphas giving him a "are you okay" look.

The expensive gold doors banged close as he stepped out meeting Justin who was waiting for him, resting on a pillar. The beta looked at his Alpha surprised at his early presence.

"The meeting doesn't end till 2:30," Justin said but got ignored as Chris breezed past him. "Did something happen?"

Still ignoring his Beta, he walked down the stairs and headed to the lobby. He hated that monster so much. He wished he could kill it himself, only if the elders could see what he saw.

He was pretty sure that monster was killing someone right now.

------

"How are you killing me? You've never even handled a controller before!" Toby complained and dropped his controller.

Zayn smirked, looking at his winnings for the third time. The secret was, that he was just clicking different buttons hell, "O" was his favorite button.

"I need to go out to get some herbs. What do you need?" Toby asked getting up. Zayn dropped his controller and frowned at the thought of his brother leaving.

"Nothing." He grunted out and Toby smirked.

"Fine, I'll just get myself some peanuts and cookies." He drawled out and Zayn snapped his head to him immediately. "What?"

"I want cookies," Zayn answered looking back down making Toby smile at him happily.

"Alright bye! Don't miss me too much idiot." Toby replied and left the house.

Silence.

Serenity.

Zayn smiled in his mind and rested deeply on the couch. He was never leaving this place.

------

Boredom slapped him after lying down for three hours. Okay, he had to leave. Maybe go down to the lake.

*Yes, that's a very good plan.* His wolf said in his head making him frown. Wow, guess who decided to talk for a week?

*Just go and shut up.* His vampire said again. He sighed standing up. He wanted to go there and his beings wanted to go there so he had to go.

He got up and walked to the fridge. Damn. He thought as he saw the contents. It was just four blood bags remaining. That was way too small.

He downed all four of them with his vampire savoring the taste of it. His red eyes came into view and his fangs popped out before they retracted again. After that, he walked to the couch and picked up his phone.

Now he had to figure out how to call Toby. He looked at the phone deviously. He would figure this out in no time.

-------

He walked through the woods using the sound of the lake to find it. He stared at his phone in horror. He had not figured it out yet.

Just as he was about to toss the phone away, he noticed a green phone thingy at the base of the device. He clicked it and saw Toby's number. Haha! Fuck you, humans.

Clicking on it, Toby's number rang, and placed it on his ear. "Wow, you figured out how to use it. I'm proud." Toby snickered and Zayn wished he was close enough for him to deliver a sound blow.

"There are no blood bags in the house," Zayn replied and Toby shouted.

"There were fifteen this morning!" He answered and Zayn almost laughed.

"I repeat, there are no blood bags in the house. Buy some at the hospital or I'll be forced to get from the source."

"You little—"

The line went dead and Zayn snickered to himself. That served him right.

Crunch.

He followed the sound and looked down to see a dead leaf in front of him. He stared at it puzzled. That's weird, he was sure that he was just walking through a green forest just now.

Looking up, his eyes widened when he saw the leaves dying. To make it worse, a dead bird fell in front of him. He shook his head and staggered back.

Was he doing this?

He turned around with shock when he saw that behind him, all the leaves were dead, and in front, the leaves were alive and green. His face formed in the realization of his witch's evil powers.

*Surrender to me, Master. The world is a heartbreaking place. No one deserves you.*

Shut up!

He screamed in his head and a squirrel fell from the tree with blood coming out of its eyes.

Make it stop! Shit!

*Why give them a chance? Your mother is dead and forgotten. Mind reminding me how she died?*

The topic drained all the color out of his face and he started to run toward the lake. The voices followed him as more animals and leaves died. His inhumane speed increased as he ran.

Tripping over a branch, he fell and rolled down the small hill landing brutally on the sand. This fucking witch would never shut up, she would always keep tormenting him, wouldn't she? The bitch.

The voices had stopped and he stood up to see the lake. Walking towards it, he remembered his mother's love for the water. How she would count the stars with him in the reflection of the water at night.

He smiled at the sun. Because of her, he and Toby could go out into the sun, unlike other vampires.

He sat down on the bank of the lake and sighed. "I'll make you happy, Mama." He said to himself. "I'm sorry for losing your gift to me."

The silence in his head became more evident as he looked at the waters. That was when it hit him, the most mouth-watering scent he had ever smelled. His hairs stood on end as he stood up. Where was the scent from?

He closed his eyes and opened his wolf senses. Taking a deep breath, he followed the heartwarming scent.

"Ow." He winced and he looked down to see —

What the fuck?

His pendant. His mother's gift. He bent down and picked it up, sniffing it. His heart shook at the scent. This was where the scent was coming from.

Wait— his pendant was a half-moon. Bending to the left. This one was right. What could that mean? It was a full moon pendant.

A thought crossed his mind. The pack that was near the lake, could be where the owner lived. He couldn't get in unless he was a member. He didn't want to return it, he wanted to talk.

He smiled maniacally as another thought invaded his mind, now was the time to own the pack anyway. He loved the lake.

So he must have it.

Why not kill two birds with one stone?

Literally.

-------

The two girls giggled at the handsome character that played Teen Wolf on the TV. Avery chewed on a slice of pizza while Adriana gushed at Scott.

"Humans are beginning to look good," Avery commented and her friend agreed immediately.

They had both waited at the lake till 6:00 but he didn't show up. She had to leave but now she had only tomorrow to go again.

"I love her pendant." Avery hushed out and Adriana nodded in agreement before she stopped abruptly touching her empty neck.

She sighed remembering she dropped it in her hoodie pockets and stood up. Getting there, she searched it and —

Nothing.

"Avery. Oh no, I left my pendant at the lake." She complained already tearing up.

"It's late," Avery said walking up to her. "Can't we go tomorrow?"

"No, please. It was a gift from my mum. She gave it to me at childbirth. Don't worry, I'll go." I said and she shook her head stopping me.

"No. I can't let my friend go out alone because of my dad's rules. Let's go get your pendant back."
