Chapter 562: Magic bag with special origin (Edited)

It was finally the day school started, and Fish and the others packed their luggage together, preparing to catch the Hogwarts Express at King's Cross station.

"Why can't we just go back to Hogsmeade?"

(〃`3′〃)

Said Fish unhappily, clasping his hands together, "That train is boring and slow!".

"Because it's not convenient to get you there using Apparition, and using the Red Flu would give away our location." Mrs. Weasley explained patiently, "The Ministry has been watching Dumbledore, waiting for him to make a mistake."

"The Ministry really is a bad place."

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

When the Ministry had sent the Dementors to Hogwarts two years ago, Fish hadn't liked the place too much, so when Fudge had tried to recruit him, Fish hadn't hesitated to turn him down.

In retrospect...

He really wasn't wrong in his thinking at the time.

But Fish wasn't so easily convinced, he had thought about it long before.

"We could go to Diagon Alley and use the Red Flu," Fish said reasonably, "Fish remembers that Diagon Alley is also in London, and if we can't, we can ride the Flying Broom, which is faster than that train."

"You have to ride the Hogwarts Express starting this year."

With a snap, Professor McGonagall suddenly appeared in front of Fish and the others, just in time to hear Fish's words.

It was just as she had thought, Fish didn't want to get on the train at all.

"Minerva~"

?●w●?

Fish rushed over to her and gave her a hug, before asking sadly, "Why?"

"Because you're a Prefect now, and you have to look after the younger students on the train, and keep order on it." Professor McGonagall replied, pinching Fish's cheeks.

"What?!"

∑(?ΦДΦ?)

Fish was horrified, "So Fish doesn't want to be Prefect!".

Yesterday I thought it would be a good thing to be Prefect, but then Fish was asked to do something!

That mean old Albus is cheating on me again!

Fish decided to blame it on Dumbledore, ignoring the fact that the letter sent yesterday was actually signed by his dear Mother Minerva.

"Is this something you don't want?!"

Professor McGonagall smacked Fish upside the head with a grimace.

She had come because she thought Fish would resist being Prefect of the College because of this sort of thing.

"Not that Fish would want to be Prefect..."

(〃`3′〃)

Fish pouted and muttered in protest, "No one's even asked Fish if he wants to be Prefect!".

Professor McGonagall had already thought of a way to persuade Fish, and calmly said, "If you don't want to keep order, no problem, Hermione is a Prefect anyway, so she can do the job, Fish, just stay on the train... no one will accuse you of anything anyway."

She patted Fish on the head, pointing Hermione aside.

"...Minerva, you wicked girl!"

(? `н′?)

Fish was silent for a moment before puffing out his cheeks and glaring at Professor McGonagall.

He knew, of course, that this was a ploy by Professor McGonagall to get him to do his Prefect duty, and of course he couldn't do anything, as Professor McGonagall said, and he was sure that neither Hermione nor anyone else would have a problem with it....

But how could he leave it all to Hermione!

There were still a lot of things Fish didn't understand, but Fish had always been very attached to the people he liked, let alone Hermione, his favorite person besides Professor McGonagall.

After expertly taking care of Fish, Professor McGonagall used Apparition and headed back to Hogwarts, classes were starting today, and there was still plenty to do at the school!

Not only had Dumbledore left her with all the work, as in previous years, but he had also taken several professors away to work on Voldemort, leaving the school seriously understaffed this year, and she didn't have much time to waste here.

"It's all over nya... Fish has fallen into the trap..."

(?w?)

Fish knew that being Prefect was a big job, and he wouldn't be able to get rid of it, so his mood turned moody.

"Hahahaha!" George gloated, "That's why we say only a fool would make Prefect!".

But he had only laughed twice when Mrs. Weasley slapped him on the back of the head.

"Don't listen to Fred! Being Prefect is a great honor." said Mrs. Weasley to Fish after she had slapped her son. "And there's not much work for a Prefect, it's easy."

"But...Mum..." George spoke weakly from the side.

"Shut up! If you and George don't do well in your exams this year, you'll see how I'll treat you two!" Mrs. Weasley shouted angrily.

George, who was gagged and unable to speak, and Fred, who feared being caught in the crossfire, wisely kept quiet.

"Molly," Fish tugged on Mrs. Weasley's robe, finishing George's sentence, "It's George, not Fred nya."

(?ΦwΦ?)?

Mrs. Weasley: "..."

"We'll pack our bags and get going!". She skipped the subject rather simply, urging, "It's getting late! If we don't hurry, we'll miss the train!".

No one was going to mess with Mrs. Weasley who had just lost her temper.

Well... except Fish.

But Hermione dragged him away before that happened too, and some of the young wizards pushed their suitcases and hurried off.

An empty-handed Fish glanced at the mountain of luggage the others were carrying and pulled out his own magical bag.

"Why don't you all put all the suitcases in Fish's bag, the one Albus gave me? There's plenty of room in it."

(つΦwΦ)つ

"Oh, yes!" Mrs. Weasley tapped her head and said, "Fish, Hermione, they need to get the bags out."

"Why?" Fish asked, very confused.

"Because the undetectable extension charm isn't really allowed for personal use," Mrs. Weasley explained, "Unless it's in a suitcase or other container that the Ministry of Magic has allowed to be made. They used to not be very strict about this sort of thing, but now...".

Although she didn't continue, everyone else had realized that, just as in the Apparition case, the Ministry was now bent on giving Dumbledore a hard time.

If the Ministry discovered that Fish was using the magic bag Dumbledore had given his, it would be in the papers, and both Fish and Dumbledore would be put on trial, just as had happened with Harry.

"Oh," Fish stopped worrying, "Then no problem nya, Albus told Fish that the bag was free to use nya, that it was his reward for winning a fight against someone named.... Gellert Grindelwald?"

(??w??)?

Fish scratched his head for a moment, then nodded with great assurance and said, "Yes, that's the name nya."

Mrs. Weasley: "..."

"What is it nya?"

Fish looked at Mrs. Weasley who had a complicated, puzzled expression.

Harry and the others also looked puzzled.

It was Hermione, who had read further, who finally revealed the answer, "Grindelwald was the first Dark Lord, and after being defeated by Dumbledore, he was said to have been imprisoned in a place called Nurmengard, in Austria."

Harry and the others understood.

"So it's true what Skeeter reported, that there are two generations of the Dark Lord!" exclaimed Ron, "I don't think Professor Binns ever said anything about that."

He wasn't so sure about that, as he had spent most of his time in History of Magic sleeping.

Fish, however, wasn't worried about that, and shouted indignantly, "Then why no reward for Fish for defeating Voldemort?"
