153: The Emperor Vs Green Goblin (Part 2)

Somewhere in the depths of the universe,

The fabric of the space suddenly warped and distorted. A cloud of smoke swirling with blue energy appeared out of nowhere, and two figures came bursting out.

Andrew slashed with the Emperor Sword, sending the Green Goblin flying with tremendous force.

In the cosmic void, Green Goblin frantically slid backwards, using his two black rods to anchor himself to the surface of a large meteorite and prevent being flung away.

"Impossible...this is outer space!" Green Goblin exclaimed as he struggled to his feet.

"Normal humans cannot survive here..."

He trailed off, dumbfounded at the sight of the Emperor standing there, not only unharmed in the vacuum but with his power seeming to grow even stronger.

"How can you be alive without master's protection? It's impossible!" Green Goblin cried in disbelief.

Andrew did not answer but leveled the Emperor Sword before him.

"Green Goblin, the Space Stone's power is not something you can control. Bring Mephisto here and stop wasting time."

Seeing he had been found out, Green Goblin's expression darkened. "If you want to meet my master, you'll have to get through me first!"

Green Goblin's glider reappeared beneath his feet and propelled him towards Andrew.

"Futile!"

Andrew pressed the Wood inscription on his Emperor's Belt, instantly channeling its power into the sword.

A pair of glowing white wings unfurled behind his armor as well.

In the airless void, Andrew conjured a monstrous wind storm, gale forces multiplying tenfold what he could summon on Earth.

Green Goblin was stopped in his tracks, unable to penetrate the winds.

"Emperor - Piercing Winds!" Andrew commanded.

The raging storm suddenly calmed, replaced by countless transparent wind blades.

Andrew pointed his sword downwards, and the wind blades descended like a violent monsoon.

Green Goblin desperately swung his rods to defend himself, but the instant one connected, the tremendous force sent him hurtling through space.

More wind blades followed, effortlessly shredding through Green Goblin's body.

The meteorite below fractured into countless smaller chunks, unable to withstand the power either. Andrew hovered above, looking down at the remains scattered among the asteroids.

There were countless chunks of flesh suspended in the cloud of debris, futilely trying to reassemble only to be torn asunder again by gale forces.

"Mephisto, are you still enjoying the show?" Andrew called out mockingly.

"This is your loyal servant, isn't it?"

Among the shredded flesh, a single intact eyeball stared back in primal terror.

Green Goblin could feel only stark fear of Andrew now.

The torture on Earth had been a mercy compared to this excruciating dismemberment. His immortality was a curse, forcing him to endure the agony fully conscious.

He could not even scream.

As Green Goblin watched in dread, a swirling cloud of blood-red smoke appeared before Andrew, coalescing into the demonic form of Mephisto.

This was the first meeting between the two. Andrew takes in a look at the Hell Lord's hideous face.

Ugly indeed...

Oblivious to Andrew's thoughts, Mephisto glanced indifferently at the mangled Green Goblin before meeting Andrew's gaze.

"It seems you were merciful with my servant on Earth, Emperor. Was it out of fear of me?" Mephisto posited arrogantly.

To him, that seemed the only plausible explanation for Andrew's restraint.

Andrew was surprised by the demon's excessive pride. Does the Lord of Hell really think so highly of himself?

"You presume too much," Andrew retorted.

"I simply cannot yet fully control my power. Killing Green Goblin could have harmed innocents."

Mephisto's blood-red face registered displeasure at the Emperor's arrogance.

"Arrogance has consequences, Emperor," Mephisto warned.

Andrew smiled disdainfully. "Mephisto, you don't have to pretend anymore."

"Tell me, how did you draw the power of the Space Stone in Tesseract and teleport me here."

"What are you planning?" Andrew asked, intrigued.

"So you know of the Space Stone too? You seem to know quite a lot!"

Few in the universe knew the legend of the six Infinity Stones, much less their locations. This emperor's knowledge surprised Mephisto, albeit mildly.

After all, there were others on Earth aware of the Stones, like the Asgardian Thor.

Andrew would not reveal, the future fate of the Infinity Stones at the hands of Thanos.

Mephisto continued, "I brought you here for one reason only." He gestured at the pitiful Green Goblin.

"You've proven your strength by putting my servant in this state. So I propose this: I will grant you the power of immortality if you agree to a contract and serve me loyally."

Andrew scoffed, "And what makes you think immortality alone is worth me selling my soul?"

Mephisto laughed as if it was the most absurd question.

"Oh Emperor, you need not pretend with me. Though I cannot see your face behind that armor, I am certain you are but a mortal man of Earth."

With a wave of his hand, Mephisto summoned a dozen circles of red smoke. Within each appeared a human - kings, priests, and others of power and wealth.

Despite their differences, they all prayed desperately before Mephisto's image, seeking the gift of immortality.

"Look at them," Mephisto purred.

"They would do anything for my favor and gift, even kill. But you, Emperor, are different. I have chosen you."

"Become my champion, loyal and eternal! And I shall grant you undying life!"

Mephisto conjured a flame in his palm, his words dripping temptation.

"No one can resist the lure of immortality. Come, Emperor, it is your destiny!"

Space seemed to warp around them. Green Goblin's remaining eye shone with hope as he witnessed the Emperor walking toward Mephisto as if in a daze.

The demon's hypnosis must have worked!

Soon the Emperor would be defeated without Mephisto having to lift a finger.
