Dead Deal

The next day I feel a contract get signed as I lay on the couch with Tandy in my arms. I roll my eyes as I stand up, Tandy gives me an odd look.

"Work calls," I say as my wings spread from my back and I vanish.

I appear again in a familiar Gotham apartment, a familiar woman sitting on the couch with a tired look on her face and a pen in her hand. Her sharp face looks at me angrily.

I smile at her gaze, "That contract wasn't meant for you."

"We are the same person aren't we?" She asks through grit teeth.

I shake my head, "She is a useful five-thousand-year-old immortal sorceress, you are a normal woman with an okay face and nice body. What could you offer me?"

Her gaze turns pleading, "Anything," she pauses as she touches her chest "Everything."

I shake my head, "You aren't that great sorry, worth a quick lay but not a contract."

"I'm an archeologist, I can be useful even if I can't use magic."

Rubbing my chin I sit on the coffee table a foot in front of her. She seems frightened of me but maintains eye contact.

Sitting closer I can see her face is actually not that bad, she is just malnourished. Probably from struggling to keep the grudge locked inside.

"Hmmm," I snap my fingers and a gate of hellfire appears next to me. Out walks a fat red demon, Beezlebub. Seeing me he drops to a knee.

"My King," He says lowering his fat head.

"You have a lot of information about magic wielders correct?"

He nods, "Just as much as Asmodeus."

"Good, tell me of the one in front of me."

His gaze turns scrupulous at the girl who signed as 'June Moone'. His eyes ignite in a red fire as he nods seemingly gleaning information.

"This is Enchantress, three thousand years ago she tried to make an empire of humans to rule over. She and her brother were cruel but her brother was far worse. The humans rebelled and toppled them then sealed them in tombs using powerful ritual magic. She is often considered one of the more evil sorceresses to ever exist, she lacks sins due to her brother taking over most of the punishments."

I wave him off, "I understand, you may leave."

Beelzebub slowly backs away into the portal as I hand her another contract, "The last one is void due to the wrong person signing. This is the one you want."

She takes the contract and begins to read, "You want us to merge into one body?"

I nod "I won't give you the ability to change forms but with magic, you should be able to do it on your own."

"You want me to work for the Morningstar company? To serve a girl named Ruby?"

"I am taking care of her, she is very powerful and will be the source of your powers so it is only natural you serve her. Of course, since you will become a member of my company I will sponsor you to go onto digs and search for more tombs like the one you found this witch in."

Seeing her begin to think I shrug, "I don't need to be here when you sign so I will just leave. Come find me in New York when you sign it so you begin your work."

I stand up and vanish before she can say anything. Not even a minute after leaving I feel the contract has been signed.

Weeks went by and things progressed well. Banner plucked up the courage and proposed to Miss Ross. He also got the research paper out in only a few days giving me the go-ahead to have president Ellis start getting things done with the FDA. Soulbringer has started her archeology department at the Morningstar company which got a new building

Soulbringer is the name June Moone came up with her magic version. She looks like a dark cosmic shade when she uses magic, quite interesting really. She has formed a team and will be heading to Thailand soon since Ruby said she didn't want her for now.

Meanwhile, Osborn was having the time of his life with his family reunited. I let him tell the truth to his son about his mother and me. He took it much better than expected seemingly agreeing his father did the right thing. I guess putting his soul on the line made for a good redemption in the boy's eyes.

I visited Tony often getting updates on his armors progress. He also made a new reactor to power his suit that's even better than the one he made when I was there. Pepper framed his old one and gave it to him as a gift.

A week ago Tony donned the armor for the first time and saved a village killing nearly 20 terrorists. I watched proudly from the shadows as he slaughtered them and saved a child. After that, he was attacked by two fighter jets and I had to save him by slowing time around the jets giving him time to run.

Stark told me just yesterday that Stane had indeed been selling to the terrorist group and he was getting proof to put him away. I was tempted just to go and kill Stane but Tony seemed invested in doing everything himself.

Tonight I'm heading to Tony's house to bring him an invitation to Banner's wedding. Banner wants Tony to come since he now knows he is the one who recommended him to me. If he hadn't recommended him it's doubtful he would even be getting married now.

As I pull up I see the door is already open so I get out fast. I hear wheels squeal as a black Mercedes pulls next to me quickly. I recognize the person inside is Rhodes.

He hops out fast "Where's Tony?" He asks quickly obviously in a hurry.

"I don't know, why? Did something happen?" I ask a bit concerned.

He runs inside as I follow, "Stane is trying to kill him, we need to make sure he is alright."

My eyes go cold as I rush into the house to find Tony. I run in front of Rhodes and head down to Tony's lab to see Tony curled into a ball on the ground near broken glass.

I flicker and appear next to Tony grabbing him. He is awake and grabs my arm trying to get up. He is ghastly pale and weak but still alive.

"Ab…. It's Stane, he took my reactor," he says grabbing my shoulder to get himself up.

I feel wrath tremble inside of me as anger begins to cloud my judgment.

I grab Tony and bring him to his feet as he looks at Rhodes "Where is Pepper?" He leans on Rhodes

He holds Tony up, "She is fine, she is with five agents to arrest Stane."

He tries catching his breath as he supports himself, "They'll need more than that."

I walk past them both without looking at either of them. "No, they won't, Stane will be a dead man soon enough. Rhodes, don't let Tony leave, his current reactor isn't strong enough to power his suit for long. If he tries to leave punch him."

Rhodes looks confused "What are you going to do?"

I grow a foot taller, my wings grow from my back, horns curl out from my head, and my crown sets ablaze. "I'm going to kill a snake." Before either of them can say anything I vanish.
