Training

A hour or so after Charles calls that favor for a ride home, 5 helicopters can be seen coming over the horizon. Landing a group of men and women come out and greet Charles who turns to the X-men and introduces them as agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

" Occasionally whenever there is any mutant related problems, they will call me for assistance. And it just so happens I had a IOU and I'm glad I did" Charles explained

With all of the X-men boarding 2 of the 5 helicopters, they begin their long journey home

As they begin their trip home Shen and Ororo excuse themselves off to the side and begin bonding over small talk.

Cairo:

"We've secured the body sir. Killed with assumably deception by wolverines claws." ??? Says into his earpiece

" good job agent Coulson. Try and keep more contact with the X-men if you can. Mutants that can summon winds that powers may become either a asset or a threat" ???

"Affirmative director Fury, any other orders?" Coulson

"Recover the body and clean up the mess as usual" Fury replies cutting the call

A few days later:

Having slept for almost a whole day after the apocalypse event, Shen spends the next couple of days spending time with Ororo.

Having learned more about her past, a sense of respect blooms within him surprising her. Where as in the past whenever she would tell her story to people a look of pity would slowing form on their face where with Shen a look of worry and respect is shown. Explaining that he respects that she is who she is now. The situations she has been in could make anyone turn bad.

As Shen slowly begins to resume his normal day to day, 2 new slots have been added into his routine. When training he joins up with Ororo and they begin to try and perfect their air powers together. After seeing the damage they did to Apocalypse during their fight, the decided to make this their trump card of sorts should anything else of that nature happen.

While practicing earth bending one day, Shen hears a BAMF sound before Kurt lands before him looking like he has struck gold

"What's up Kurt?" Shen

"So I just had ze best idea! So rocks come from ze earth ja? And iron come from the earth ja? I vonder if you could do to it like you do to ze earth" Kurt

" well I could give it a shot but no promises, I'll just need a big chunk of iron" Shen

Running down to the lab, the two manage to convince Hank to lend them a few iron ingots. Returning to the back yard, Shen takes a iron ingot in both hands and begins to sense for earth in the iron. Slowly delving his senses into the iron, he begins sensing something in the metal. With a tug, Shen squeezes the iron using the same method he would his earth bending leaving a palm shaped indention in the ingot.

"YOUR A GENIUS KURT" Shen

"Hehe I'm glad I could be of assistance to you my friend" Kurt

"If you come up with any more ideas let me know, this is the best!" Shen

With a pat on the back, Kurt heads back inside to allow Shen to continue playing around with his new ability.

After many days of playing around with his metal bending, Shen learns a few things. Where as with the other elements he doesn't have as fine a control control on the metal unless its in a thin whip like strip. After much experimentation, with the help of Hank, they created a whip sword similar to a urumi. Under the control of his metal bending he can control the whip similar to how he can control water.

Joining the rest of the Xmen in the 'Danger room' allowed Shen to practice more with his fire and air bending. After much practice with the team, he slowly became seen as their leader with Scott a close second.

Another thing he has found is that that the stronger his body is the more power he can put into his elements. With that in mind his training journey began to become even stronger.

2 Years later: Salem 2007

2 years have passed since the battle with Apocalypse and Ororo joining the Xmen. After being close friends for a year Shen managed to finally muster the courage to ask Ororo out on a date, to which she said yes. More and more mutants have been turning up as of late, though none of which have any mutation or willingness to join the Xmen. As some of the oldest members Shen, Ororo, Scott and Jean have become the leaders of the house along with Logan, Hank, and Charles. Alex left out a few months after the battle to go to college in Europe.

Coming home from one of their Saturday night dates, Shen hears voices yelling from the kitchen. Dashing into the kitchen afraid someone's gotten hurt he is met with Charles arguing with a man wearing a eye patch.

"Ah Shen welcome back, I assume Ororo is not to far behind you?" Charles

"We just got back. Who is this?" Shen

"This is Nick Fury, that friend of mine from S.H.I.E.L.D. I told you about a few years ago that got us a lift home" Charles

"I came over today to ask if you and your companion would join a team I am making. With more and more super powered individuals popping up I feel like now is a good time. I call it the Avengers initiative." Fury

"And what all would this entail?" Shen

" Much like the your team now should any supernatural elements come to threaten populations on a massive scale this team's duty will be to stop it from happening and to protect the people." Fury

"Ill join but our team know would have already done so." Shen

"I figured you would, but I still had to ask." Fury says handing a pager to Shen, Ororo and Charles

"A pager, really?" Ororo asks

"Like the old saying, If it ain't broke don't fix it" Fury replies with a smirk
