With more and more people learning about mutants mixed feelings were created. While some who had been harmed by mutant abilities there were some who realized that there are bad people no matter with or without powers. However over the years of their activity the X-men have been seen in a positive light due to all of the good they have done since the apocalypse event 3 years prior.

With Shen's power of bending the elements tsunamis had been stopped or diverted that would do major damage helping their cause.

In doing so as well has started a small cult following for Shen and Ororo in many cities. However if you get to the more tribal areas in the world, the duo have slowly been being worshipped by them as the god/goddess of nature.

The main thing that hinders the X-men as well as all mutants in general are two groups. Eric's brotherhood and a group recently popping up calling themselves the friends of humanity. The problem with both is their extremist side. On Eric's he genially believes he is doing right. On the friends of humanity's side their extremist subgroup the church of humanity is the main problem. The F.O.V. keep their attacks political and nonviolent. The C.O.V. on the other hand have taken notes from the Salem witch trials in their methods.

One morning while the group was sitting around eating breakfast a shocked Peter appeared before the yelling turn on the news

<this just in with a shocking news report. Arms giant Tony Stark has gone missing after while en route to a weapons exhibition his group was attacked by a group calling themselves the Ten Rings. No more info is available at this time>

2 months have passed since the disappearance of Tony stark. One morning while Shen was enjoying his breakfast

"Ah Shen perfect I was looking for you, I have a mission for you, And Ororo. Fury called and is asking for your and Ororo's help with this. Just after you find him do come back in a reasonable time, no eloping please." Charles finishes with a light harder tease

Blushing at Charles remark he swore to get back at him. Next week would be his and Ororo's 4 year anniversary and with the help of Charles he had wanted to buy a engagement ring. And while he wanted to buy a house off site of the mansion due to the nature of their work in the X-men he had decided against it. Much to his surprise however after coming back from a mission that took a week or so in Africa with her, he was welcomed to a lush garden with a private small home off in the corner of the mansions property.

With everything lining up almost perfectly, Shen had planned to borrow the jet to take her to a picnic in the Serengeti and pop the question. Hiding in the supply's on board in a hiding compartment on the x-jet, Shen gathers his partner and they head out on their mission.

Arriving at the rendezvous site they arrive after the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents on charge for the mission.

Stepping forward a familiar face greets them

"Shen, Ororo, glad you could assist us" Coulson says with a smile

"Always glad to be able to be able to help. Who is this?" Shen asks

"This would agent Romanoff and agent Barton" Coulson answers

"Glad to make your acquaintance. Have either of you been able to narrow down any of the search zones?" Shen

"We've managed to narrow the search down a little bit. The cities have already been filled out, all that's left is a few mountains." Barton says gesturing the duo to the map the have on a table

"Ororo and I will investigate the mountains over in that area then." Shen says

"Do you need a li-" Barton starts to say before Ororo takes off into the sky towards a mountain range

"That's new" Agent Romanoff chuckles

Using his earth bending to make a surf board shaped slab of earth, Shen takes off into the desert propelling himself with his earth and air bending in hunts for Tony Stark.

After a few hours of searching, Shen stumbles upon a camp in the mountains. Doing his best to sneak up the mountain, he is startled thinking his cover is blown after loud yelling is heard. As the yelling gets louder, gun shots begin to be rattled off at something followed by a loud thudding sound ever so often.

Seeing a strange humanoid figure covered in some sort of metal, Shen radios in his discovery. With all the people in the area taking fire at the figure, he risks it not being Stark in the suit. Stealthily using his metal whip he dispatches the guards that are distracted by the iron man slowly until just 2 or 3 remain. With the figure finishing off the last remaining men with its flame thrower, Shen approaches with with his hands in the air but prepared just in case it attempts to use the flame thrower on him.

"Tony Stark?" Shen yells

"Depends on who's asking" Tony replies

" I was sent to help rescue you, but from the looks of it you had that under control" Shen

"Thanks for coming but I'm not much for being a damsel in destress" Tony replies with a chuckle

"I've already radio'd in for a pickup if you want to start getting out of that armor I imagine it's blistering" Shen says as he uses his earth bending to make 2 seats from earth for them to rest in as they wait

"How did you do that?" Tony asks

"It's my mutant ability, let's me control the elements" Shen

"I've been hearing about mutants more and more lately. Not a fan of the way they they talk about them so negatively." Tony

As the 2 make small talk while they wait on their pickup a budding friendship between the two sprouts.
