I throw a glance to my right to see a small blurry afterimage of the queen spider's front leg.

Flee!

Time resumes and my body leaps up. The sweeping leg crumbles and destroys the rocks in its path.

"Another one?!" I gasp.

Immediately after the time freeze, I notice a blur of black to my right.

How can something so big manoeuvre that quickly?

I gulp as I choose the second option.

Time resumes and something hard slams my body, throwing me at the wall.

*BOOOOOM!*

I fall to the ground from the cracked rock and grasp my back.

"Ugh..." I groan with gritted teeth. A piercing pain shoots up my spine, but compared to the torture, this is nothing.

...

Wait.

I look up at the queen spider. It's not attacking me?

Investigating around me, I try to figure out the cause but to no avail; the surrounding rocks are all the same. The final verdict I come to is...

The queen spider snickers at me while waiting patiently.

The queen spider is toying with me.

"Huff huff."

I disregard that as a prey is in no position to be offended.

I take a deep breath and grip my weapon tightly. It's no use escaping but at the very least, I need to confirm something before I die.

The weakness of those spiders is the soft tissue below their torso. If so, is the queen spider similar?

I leap at the spider with all my might. Stealth is ineffective, I can only charge head-on.

This prompt up showed up again...every single attack deals with a critical one, which means I will die instantly if that hits me directly.

Flee.

My body jump to the left when the legs of the spider thrust into the ground.

Afterwards, the prompt-up panel constantly shows up. Every time, I choose to flee and my body manoeuvres using the best course of action that puts me at the least risk. However, no matter how careful the "thing" controlling my body is, I cannot be unscathed.

The spider places its leg on the ground and goes in for a sweeping attack again. This time, my body takes the attack head-on and was flung back.

!!!!!!

...

There was, though, one difference. I wasn't ejected to the wall and was instead pushed back.

I widen my eyes in shock.

The thing controlling me is...learning?! My body jumped back at the exact momentum and time to lessen the impact. What's more, it felt natural as if "I" was the one moving...

Is the system bringing out my true potential?

I shake the thoughts and questions off, let's focus.

There is little chance I can get near the spider without any sort of distraction. What distraction can I-

Right! The eggs.

...

The eggs are behind the spider queen, it is impossible to get to it. But I have a pair of jade daggers, sacrificing one knife won't greatly influence me.

With this, I leap in again.

This time, the spider steps forward, now frustrated at my annoying attempts.

I pull back my right hand and place my leg behind. With a swirl of my body, I channel the entire momentum from my feet to my arm and throw the dagger at the eggs.

*BOOM!*

The dagger ripped through the air with explosive power.

The spider notices what I am aiming for and instantly deflects the knife away yet that short amount of time was enough for me to appear below her torso.

I go in for a slash and successful cuts a wound. An orange liquid, which I assume is its blood, splatters on my face.

"RUAGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

"ARGHH!!!!" I groan as I cover my ears. Its screams echo throughout the trembling cave and ring in my head.

*pst*

A spiking pain erupts around my chest. It is...suffocating as the sharp black matter protrudes from my torso.

*pst* *pst*

Two more of the spider's legs pierce through my body. A flow of blood continuously drips on the floor as black substance foams out of my mouth. The vision around me dissipates slowly.

Oddly, I don't feel afraid. This discomfort from death...it's starting to feel natural.

I smile.

At the very least, I've confirmed the spider queen's weakness.
