Chapter 54

Amanda left home earlier and arrived at the company much earlier than the normal time she is to resume work, she start to clean her desk and arrange her things slowly since time is on her side then she enters Josh's office and start her normal routine and arranging the files and things according to his schedule for the day.

After doing all that, she left to get his coffee and his favorite sandwich breakfast ready, She feels very relieved and happy after he left last night, not because he left though but because she has finally end things with Mike.

Because of how good his family treated her, she has been confusing her gratitude with love for him and even had an loveless relationship where they just meet when necessary and date when they are free.

Thinking about it from the beginning now, she has never felt eager to see him or feel any butterflies in her stomach when she gets intimate with him or when he treats her well.

Amanda already turned off her phone knowing that a lot of people will be calling and messaging her concerning her post last night that her wedding is off, Mike's parent and friends will look for her also. Planning to turn it on the next day, she sat down at her desk to focus on some work and get an update about the current situation of things and meet up, thankfully Josh let her come back and she will be able to recover the money she lost quickly

Josh arrived an hour later and saw her at her desk talking to someone, the both of them immediately stopped when they saw him and greeted him politely but he ignored them and entered into his office.

Amanda didn't look concerned and continued chatting with the other person trying to find a good excuse for her wedding getting canceled, she didn't inform anyone at work about it because they seems to know about her relationship with Josh so how this person gets to know is still a mystery to her but she explained anyways and let her leave so she can work

"I have to attend to the boss" she said and the other woman nodded and left.

Amanda entered the office and knocked after entering, she walk up to him and saw that he is already reading the schedule she dropped so she thought to buttress on it.

"Since it's Thursday, I thought its not necessary to have a meeting with the media team and adjourn it to the next Tuesday after they must have found a new plan" she said but Josh isn't in a good mood to listen or relate with what she is telling him

"You really came to work" he said lifelessly and she nodded

"John told me you missed a meeting scheduled with Mr Mars yesterday, I talked with him earlier today and set an appointment with him for twelve, I will attend and apologize to him properly" she informed him and placed a file in front of him

"Williams wanted to give…" Josh stopped her words with a wave of his hand and motion to her to stop talking.

"I want to be alone for a while please" he told her and she complied and left with asking questions. Josh touched his forehead as he is coming down with fever.

He stood up and went toward a shelf in his office then took a drug and took it with coffee then he went back to his seat still holding his throbbing head.

When he left Amanda's house last night, he went home instead of going to the company and thought about him and Amanda and if he can really like her forever without looking at any other girl.

After sometimes has passed, he invite Chris out for a drink and talked to him about his worries but his answer got him confused and thinking, he asked how he is able to live and have sex with just one woman and not craving for another woman.

"When you lose her you will realize if you can live with just one woman or not" Josh remembers his answer and felt a little bit angry

"Why would she want to get married when she just called off a relationship? And she acts like nothing happened yesterday" Josh thought annoyed that he is the only one affected by what happened and throws the file she dropped away.

He rings the bell again telling her to come in and prepare for the first meeting he has that morning.

A week after Laura got the test results, she sent them to her father's email knowing that he will definitely respond when he sees something like that and he really did.

Laura received a reply a few days after sending it and they talked over the phone then she asked him to return home so they can have a talk and she can address the situation in his presence. Her father didn't hesitate and agreed to return after so many years.

Laura has everything planned out and checking in on Sharon's side, she has stripped off power from every of her minors with tangible reasons and evidence since they came into the company through the wrong ways

She has also taken control over every of the corporations with Chris's help of course and because of her condition she hired another person to manage the company with her so Chris can be relieved of the work and since their wedding has been shifted till after her father's arrival Laura is only worried about one more person, Nicholas.

She doesn't like him or cares about what happens to him after she reveals the truth to everyone but Ella is with him now and it looks like they are planning to stay together, She doesn't want Ella and pumpkin to be hurt in the process.

Laura is in the house when she got a call from her father that he has arrived and she called Chris on the phone to inform him then left to pick him up.

She wanted to have one last confirmation from her father directly and get a test done for him also before proceeding with her plan.

When Laura get to the airport, she saw her father from afar looking skinny and different from what he used to be in the past years, when she get to know he lied to her to get the papers signed, she was furious and told him to disappear and he really did.

Laura's father also saw her and walk up to her, the two hugged each other in tears and remained that way for a long time. Laura cried silently and then asked about his flight.

He cleaned her tears and apologize once again then asked her to take him for the test immediately. After hearing that the child that has caused him to be separated from his beloved daughter and family is not actually his, he couldn't contain himself nor digest the news in a good light.

"How can Sharon cheat him like this?" Is the question he keep asking himself over and over again.

The both of them entered into the car and laura insist on them going to eat first before going to the hospital so she drove off to a restaurant first
