Chapter 18 Live with his memories for rest of her life..........

When Isla came inside, Tina and Jackline were talking about something near the door.

When Jackline saw Isla coming in, she smiled cunningly to her. Just as Isla was about to pass them, Jackline tripped her with her leg.

Since Isla was holding a large teddy in her hand, she could not see Jackline's foot and tripped on it. The teddy rolled far away and Isla fell down hard. This made Jackline and Tina chuckle.

"Are you blind? You just hit my daughter on her foot. " Tina said while laughing.

"Ahhh..... mother ! it really hurts." jocked Jackline making a sad face.

"Mom I think she is mentally unstable. Look !!She is still playing with toys. Hahahahaha....What a baby!" said Jackline pointing towards the teddy.

While the mother and daughter where having fun, Isla stood up. "Why did you do that to me? " Isla said straight looking into Jackline's eyes.

Jackline raised her brows "because I wanted to." she said.

"I don't remember doing anything wrong to you. Then why would you behave like this to me?" she questioned, crossing her hands in front of her chest and raising her eyebrows. " I don't like talking too much, but that doesn't mean that I am a push over." she said raising her voice a little. "I don't like to fight around, so I hope that from now on you won't do this again. " Saying this she walked ahead picked up her teddy and went to her room in the first floor.

Daniel saw this entire sequence from second floor. He was impressed with how she dealt with the situation.

Butler Henry also saw this scene and reported this to Grandfather Lee. "I think, it is the time now that I make her position strong in this family so that she would not be bullied again." Said the old man massaging his temples.

It was time for dinner.

Every one went to the dining hall. As usual, Elder Lee was sitting in the head chair. And on his right hand was William, beside him was Grace, beside her was Daniel, then Jasper, then Elsa.

On the left side was old madam Lee, her younger son, then his wife, his son, his daughter, and then Mia Lee.

It was a happy dinner, every one was enjoying.And this time Isla also had dinner to her full. She was very satisfied." Isla, I know you prefer vegetables more. Here, I prepared this specially for you." Said Grace, passing her a bowl of vegetables that she stir fried specially for her.

"Thank you, aunt." said Isla smiling sweetly to her.

Previously, Grace asked her that why she was eating so less. Then Isla told her that she didn't like meat much. Not that she hated it, but she simply prefered vegetables more. She also told her that she loved eggs and fish sometimes.

This was the reason, Grace specifically asked chefs to prepare fish soup for her along with stir fried vegetables.

The dinner came to an end. Everybody went to there respective rooms.

Later at night, Grandfather Lee called William to his study.

Both father and son were sitting and having tea.

"I want to know, what you think about Isla." Grandfather Lee asked William.

"Why would you ask father?" William questioned back.

"I have to think about her future. If not me, who will do ?" said grand father Lee. "She has no one in this world to take care of her. I want to make her position stable in this house" He added.

"What do you plan father?" asked William raising his brows. He knew that his father must have a full flage plane already. He was a stern man with years of training and serving in army. He was a retired army General ,afterall.

William used to think that his father was devoid of any emotions until his younger sister, Mia was born. He would love her so much. He was so overprotective towards her. When Mia's husband died in the mission, she was six months pregnant with Suzy. Elder Lee didn't care for anything and brought her back to Lee mension to look after her. He would himself feed her meals because she was going through a lot of emotional turmoil. He would do everything to make her happy. After Suzy was born, He even asked her to get remarried, but she didn't. She loved her husband, Peter Anderson, dearly. She told him that she wanted to live with his memories for rest of her life.

She asked him to leave her back in her husband's home but he didn't let her go. In that house her mother in law would not treat her nicely. According to her mother in law, she was the bad luck due to which her son died. Grandfather Lee wanted to teach her a lesson in his own way, for treating his only daughter badly and calling her a jinx, but Mia stopped him. She said that , that lady was the mother of the man whom she dearly loved. And she never wanted to do something bad to his mother behind his back. According to her, it was also a form of betrayal towards his love for herself.
