Chapter 19. "killing two birds with a stone......"

"I have a plan. But before telling you that I want to ask you this. What do you think about Isla?" said Elder Lee looking at William.

William was in deep thoughts. He could roughly make out Elder Lee was thinking. There were only two possibilities. One, he wanted him and Grace to adopt Isla. Another, he wanted her to marry one of his sons.

"I like her. She is a nice girl. Well mannered, well behaved. she is sweet and has great values. So now can you tell me about your plan?" He asked.

"I am not asking you her personality. I am asking you how do you see her in this family. As your daughter or daughter in law?" said elder Lee looking into his eyes.

William raised his brows. He knew it. He knew these were the two possibilities. But he never thought that his father would toss the ball to his side. He was asking him to take dicision. Which was very rare.

"I always wanted to have a daughter with Grace. But we couldn't have one. But If I adopt Isla under my family register, she would still be as vulnerable as she is now. She is very innocent and would not be able to survive being an adopted daughter to Lee's . I don't think that, it's a good idea for me to adopt her. For your second option, I am not sure about. Andrew is a total playboy. He would never get married at this point of time. He changes girls like he changes his clothes.

For Jasper, he has still not gotten over his previous relationship. He would never get married to someone else except for that girl. And he considers Isla as his sister already.

And for Daniel, you know that you and I cannot make any kind of descisions for him. He would never agree to this." Said William. But he knew that his father must have some evil plan in his sleeves.

" Let's first ask him, and see if he agrees or not." he said. "But before that I want you to tell about this good news to your wife." he added. I want to know about her reaction as well.

" Sure, father." said William and went to his room.

When William reached his room, he saw his wife sitting in front of dressing table and performing her daily skin care routine. Even when she was in her late forties, she looked very beautiful. She had flawless skin with nearly no wrinkles.

William went towards her and hugged her from behind.

"Honey, you are back?" said Grace.

"Hmm.."

"What did father tell you?"

"Hmm.."

"Say something...."She tried to break free from his embrace. But he didn't budge.

"Stay like this for a while. You smell so good...." His face was near in her nape.

After sometime he released her and turned her facing him. He was still holding her waist. "Today Father asked me to discuss something very important to you." he said.

"Hmm.....Go ahead.." she said holding onto his collar for support.

"He wants Isla to get married to Daniel. He wants to know about you opinion."

"What!!!!!!!?????"

"Yes, don't you like Isla?" he asked.

"I do , but she is too young." she said frowning a little

"He said this is the only way to make her position stable in this family." Then William told her their entire conversation.

"You are right. We should not adopt her. She wants someone to be by her side and protect her like his own, that, only a husband can do. Also, if she becomes Mrs. Lee rather that our adoptive daughter, it would be a far more stable position for her. Moreover she is very innocent and simple to hold onto that place.If she becomes Daniel's wife he will protect her and make her position stable. But will Daniel agree to it? Isla is a very nice girl. I really love her. It would be good if they get married. She will be a good companion for him. She isn't pretentious or someone who is after money. I saw truthfulness in her eyes." Grace said smiling. "I would rather make her my 'daughter in law' so that she lives with us in future also. Otherwise we will have to get her married to someone else." Grace pouted slightly to which William chuckled. "Further more, by making her marry in our family we can kill two birds with one stone" She winked.
