Catching Couple
8pm, The Continental Hotel
Shan Qi discreetly followed Zhou Yang's car to only find herself arriving at a familiar five star luxury hotel in Shanghai that easily cost a thousand dollars per night stay. "This hotel....was the one Yi Han and I stayed over the night we were drunk! This scumbag is surely generous towards another woman. " Shan Qi cursed under her breath, as she quickly passed her car keys to the valet and proceeded to hide at the hotel lobby.
After a couple minutes of waiting, Zhou Yang finally appeared with the woman beside him, Lan Xin, who was dressed to the nines, a dark violet body con dress that exposes her shoulders and cleavage.
Shan Qi was all camera ready, and started recording and snapping pictures silently while hiding behind a large flower vase in the lobby.
She was expecting some physical contact between the both, but Zhou Yang looks like he's wary and cautious of the surroundings. The pair wasn't holding hands or kissing each other, in fact they just looked like acquaintances that met up for a friendly dinner.
Shan Qi then trails behind them from a distance, catching them waiting for the lift lobby. She quietly observes Zhou Yang & Lan Xin entering the elevator, with the doors slowly closing in.
"It's you..Shan Qi right?" a voice traveled beside her, this voice sounded familiar but she wasn't sure.
Shan Qi lifted her finger pointing at him, struggling to recall him from her memory. "You are...?" he looked familiar..in her memory
"It looks like you're perfectly sober today." Tian You let out a little friendly laugh. It's Tian You.
Shan Qi immediately recalled that drunk night outside Hex Bar the moment he mentioned 'sober'. Her cheeks flushed from embarrassment. However she doesn't take her eyes from the elevator that Zhou Yang was in. She stood there looking at the elevator level screen, where the elevator came to a stop at level 19.
"Such a small world, are you staying here at this hotel again?" Tian You asked, hinting the other night where Feng Yan sent them to the hotel.
"Um...no, I am actually here to catch the adulterous couple for my friend. I have to go now! Oh and thank you for the other night!" Shan Qi hastily boarded the next elevator and waved goodbye to Tian You.
Tian You looked puzzled and turned to Feng Yan who was with him the entire time. "Did I hear her wrongly? Catching an adulterous couple? Is she talking about that drunk friend that night?" he asked, which seemed amusing to him. However Feng Yan probably knows it was Yi Han's fiance, Zhou Yang.

"I'm so sorry Miss, you can't enter the restaurant that is exclusive to our hotel guests only. May I recommend you to the public restaurant located on level 15? My sincere apologies." The restaurant manager rejected Shan Qi from entering the restaurant, as she needs to present the hotel room key in order to dine at the exclusive restaurant for hotel guests.
Shan Qi who was disappointed at the rejection, that means she won't be able to get more photos of the disgusting couple. Standing outside the restaurant, Shan Qi was thinking about what she should do.
"She's with us." Tian You walked over casually with Feng Yan. Attempting to help Shan Qi get in the restaurant, looking over in his direction and noticed Feng Yan was right beside him.
"Good evening President TianYou, of course, this way please." The restaurant manager ushered them into the restaurant without any hesitation.
"Huh...President? What the hell? He owns this hotel?!" Shan Qi was dumbfounded upon hearing the restaurant manager greet him. She must have made a fool out of herself in front of these 2 influential men the other night. That very second, she's dying to bury herself from the awkwardness and can't wait to get out of there.
The trio were seated somewhere near Zhou Yang and Lan Xin, but it wasn't too obvious since the restaurant is dimly lit creating a cozy ambience. However she was too nervous around Tian You and Feng Yan, who looked icy cold in his cool demeanor. It was nothing like what Yi Han described him as previously.
Shan Qi on the other hand, started taking pictures discreetly of the couple. To her disappointment, there weren't any inappropriate actions that could prove Zhou Yang's infidelity, he could have easily denied it as a casual dinner with his client if the pictures were exposed.

TianYou: So he's the one you're trying to catch?
Shan Qi: Yes! all the hurt he inflicted on my Yi Han, he is really shameless!
Feng Yan: He is the fiance?
Shan Qi: Yy..yes..
TianYou: So how do you intend to help your friend?
Shan Qi: I'm going to obtain evidence so that she could call off the wedding properly.

An hour has passed and there hasn't been much movement. Shan Qi decided to leave the place as she felt she was disturbing the 2 men having dinner, while she sat with them with a glass of champagne.

TianYou: Are you sure you don't want to join us for dinner?
Shan Qi: No, thank you. I'm so sorry to disturb you and Mr Feng.
TianYou: Alright, I hope you're not feeling tipsy after the champagne? Should I get the driver to drive you home?
Shan Qi: I'm fine, thank you for the kind gesture. I'll excuse myself. Mr TianYou, Mr Feng.

Shan Qi then took her leave and immediately updated Yi Han on what happened. TianYou looked at Shan Qi's disappointed face, he knew he wanted to help her with something.
After the dinner, Zhou Yang and Lan Xin made their way to the bar counter for some drinks, which caught Feng Yan's attention. Feng Yan and Tian You who also made their way to the bartender and ordered a glass of whisky on the rocks themselves.
They were back facing each other, hence it was easier to eavesdrop their conversation.

Zhou Yang: Come my love, let's toast to my soon to be promotion
Lan Xin: Promotion? Already?
Zhou Yang: Of course. I've met the manager from Feng Capital Group and it looks like I will be able to secure the investment from them really soon. We're just left with a couple of paperwork to clear.
Lan Xin: Aww..So thoughtful of you to share this good news with me instead of Yi Han.
Zhou Yang: She means nothing to me, you know it, Lan Xin. After we get married, I will be able to convince her to sell her apartment and I will get a share of it, besides her apartment price recently has gone up in the market. It's going to be worth a lot.
Lan Xin: Looks like you already got it all planned out.
Zhou Yang: Just wait for me, Lan Xin. After my promotion, the management will entrust me with bigger clients and I will build my empire to be as big as Feng Capital, to even be their competitor in the industry. Then you will just wait to be my queen.

TianYou and Feng Yan who were both attentively listening to their conversation and exchanged looks. TianYou wasn't sure if he should laugh or applaud for Zhou Yang's ridiculous confidence.
Feng Yan then slightly adjusted his eyeglasses and smirked as if Zhou Yang's words were a joke. Using Feng Capital Group for his promotion? Zhou Yang must be dreaming.
Feng Yan and Tian You both sneered and clinked their whisky glasses.
"To success." In mockery to Zhou Yang's statements.
