While they had told the people they didn't even consider, to leave the alley they couldn't make them. And they were still angrily watching to see who would be chosen over them. The 26 people went faster than Yern expected, it had only been an hour and there were just three people left.

Three people left and they had seven, It worked perfectly. If they decided to allow these people to join. The three people left were a small boy with a wicked grin, a girl with a scar on her face and a person who Yern couldn't tell the gender of because their long hair was covering the face.

The small boy walked up and offered something in his opened hand and Yern realized there was three coin bags. "Are you in need of a thief?" Yern tried to take the coin bags when the boy pulled his arm in and suddenly a knife was at his neck. " Or a killer?" the boy said before letting Yern go. This little kid could've ended his life before anyone could do anything about it. Yern had been scared but he knew he couldn't show it.

"You're in, but do something like that again and you'll be in the river." Yern said plainly, motioning the boy to stand to his side. The boy gave a quick nod while he strolled happily to Yern's side next to Titan, the tall man who would be Yern's bodyguard. Apparently that's what he was called all his life. Yern understood why.

Titan didn't seem to like the small boy.

The woman with a scar on her face came up next and simply said "I can fight." The scar on her face and the decent quality blade on her hip convinced Yern enough. Someone would have taken the blade if she couldn't defend herself. Yern told her to go stand by Allen.

Now the mysterious person walked up.

"I'm a doctor and I wish to continue in that line of work." they said, shocking Yern with their proper way of speaking. ' Is she from the city?' Yern thought. That could cause problems for her. Some people in the slums saw people from the city as the enemy simply out of spite. Though she would help Allen's clinic as another worker so he would let Allen decide what to do with her.

Yern sent her to Allen and then noticed a man walking into the alley. 'Must be someone who heard about the recruitment late' he thought. He started to make his way to Allen with Titan and Sar, the small boy.

Allen had the other eight people they'd recruited with him and was gathering information about them, Yern didn't feel the need to know them too well until they did something to make them stand out from the rest. The small girl who was first in line seemed to take a liking to Allen as she was nearly stuck to him.

"We got ten, let's head to the clinic." Allen said before nodding to something behind Yern. He turned to see the man he had noticed earlier, except now he recognized him. It was the guard that cut his leg and got away from the stash house. The man slowly made his way to Yern, cautious of the people in the alley.

" I thought you'd be in another district by now, kid." The man said, still confident in front of Yern's group, that stood behind him.

" You should have stayed away after you ran. What do you want?" Yern replied, wondering why the man would risk himself again. Allen was leading the young girl away, she would be in the way if there was a fight.

"Marrow sent me to tell you and your buddies that it's a blood war. Until the last man." the man said, shocking Allen and the crowd of people who had been rejected as recruits. Many of them probably happy they hadn't been accepted now. Though they might not want to work for Marrow, they still knew he had power in their district.

"You're in enemy territory during a blood war then." Yern said, making all the confidence leave the man's face. ' Marrow sent this guy to die and he was stupid enough to actually come here.' he thought. Both Titan and Sar were ready to get at the man, Sar alone could probably handle him.

" Well, you've said your message. You can leave now." Yern said to the man, making Sar visibly upset. The man stood there like he was expecting more for a few seconds then made his way out of the alley.

"Why'd you let him go? We could have got rid of one of Marrow's soldiers right here." Sar asked, many of the other recruits wondering the same thing.

"Too many witnesses who might be angry about not being accepted into our group." Allen answered for Yern.

" We don't need Peace Enforcers on us this earlier. When were just now starting." Yern explain further. "Mistakes are deadly at this point. We can't make stupid decisions." he continued. Yern motions for Tack to come to him.

"Let's head out. To the clinic." Allen said, leading most of the new recruits out the alley without any interruptions this time.

Now Yern was left in the alley with Tack, Sar and Titan. And the people who weren't recruited but they were either slowly leaving or talking amongst themselves. " We're following the little bird to see where he lays his head." Yern said and lead the small group out of the alley.

'Probably shoulda sent someone to follow him as soon as he left, though he might've noticed.' The Marketplace was as busy as ever so Yern sent Sar ahead to try to find him. Yern thought of it as a test to see if Sar could follow instructions and report back. It would be easy enough for him to find his way back to the group with Titan towering over most of the people in the Marketplace.

Yern decided to sit at a small bar that was in the Marketplace and about 20 minutes later, Sar came back with his report. It didn't look like he had gotten into a fight so Yern was relieved.

"He went into a house three blocks from here." Sar said, looking like he was expecting praise for the scouting job.

"Good job. Is it in Marrow's territory?" Yern asked and Sar shook his head yes. " The four of us will get rid of him tonight."

"You sure you need to be there? With your leg." Tack said, nodding at the injured leg.

"Yeah, I am. Let's get to the clinic." Yern said firmly, Sar and Titan now trying to sneak a peak of the wound.
