Living in a Yu-Gi-Oh world

After a normal afternoon nap I woke up and found myself in someone else's body. I had a different face...and was apparently in a different world. People had wacky and unnatural hairstyles, the technology was very advanced and giant monster holograms could be seen around. That's right, I woke up in a Yu-Gi-Oh world and that's not all...This body belonged to last year's dueling champion.

Chapter 14

Dyne: What do you mean I will represent you? I don't want to go to a rich people's party! How about sending someone else? There are a few people in Urias squad besides the 3 of us.

I tried to find a way around this predicament.

"If those kids from Obelisk Blue in the anime are any indication, then those rich people will probably have sticks up their asses too."

She released a sigh.

Lissandra: Look, unless it's something very important, we send the newest guy to events like these. So, guess who's this guy is!

Dyne: Shit, if you put it that way...I guess I can't say no.

I could hear her satisfied laughter but I didn't mind it.

Lissandra: Excellent! I will send you the info later! Bye-bye!

And just like that, she hung up.

Dyne: Ugh... I have to get some good clothes for the party or else I'd stick out like a sore thumb.

(Dyne's usual appearance without the uniform)

I asked Jack to point me towards a clothing shop and went there right ahead.

The name of the place was Mystic Veil. It was a large shop that possessed an elegant atmosphere. The moment I entered, a middle-aged man with a thin mustache greeted me. After explaining my situation to him, he showed me a nice selection of clothes.

In the end, I bought a light beige blazer and cloth pants of the same colour along with a light blue shirt.

To finish off my shopping list, I got a light brown belt and brogue shoes.

Some modifications were needed for the blazer and pants to fit me perfectly but I was told that they would be ready by tomorrow morning.

"And with that, I'm physically ready for the party! I still have to prepare myself mental though..."

Arriving back home, I checked the details of the party. Tomorrow at 10 o'clock at one of the mansions owned by the Carbon family. The good thing is that I didn't have to patrol tomorrow so I could just go find some duelists for some points.

Dyne: Pretentious pricks...

...

...

Dyne: Shadow, finish her off!

Battlin' Boxer Shadow finished the woman with a direct attack. This marked my fourth victory today.

Woman: Thanks for the great duel! You're very strong!

She winked at me as we shook hands.

Dyne: Thanks! You're strong too!

"No you're not...but politeness is good"

Today, after getting my clothes for the party, I searched around and dueled four random people and found out that regular people suck at this.

"I guess they just play casually for fun but even that has its limits...the second guy didn't even have an extra deck and just summoned vanilla warriors."

Sighing, I left the place to return home. I wanted to take a nap before the party.

As I was sleeping, a strange noise was filling my head. It was like TV static but not continuous. I could barely make out a few letters from the static.

O...ea...e....a..oy.....a..a...d

I quickly opened my eyes and looked around me.

Nothing.

Dyne: Did you say something Dave?

Dave: No host.

Dyne: Perhaps it was a dream...Oh shit!

I checked the clock and it turned out that I slept more than I planned. I went to the shower and after half an hour I was clothed and ready.

"Should I take my disk with me? Nah, if something happens I can ask Dave to teleport it to me."

With that out of the way, I called a taxi and arrived at the mansion.

Dyne: Wow!

Was the only thing I could say. The mansion was enormous and the 'garden' even more so. The cab had to drive for a few minutes just to arrive to the main building after entering the gate.

As I was standing outside staring at the building wondering 'what the heck am I doing here?', a giggle was heard from behind me.

?: I guess this is your first time attending such events, right?

I turned to the source of the voice and a beautiful woman in her early twenties was standing behind me. She had long green hair that flowed down to her back like water and her eyes were a mix of light green and grey.

She was wearing a simple but elegant white dress with a blue ribbon-like belt around her waist and a light pink veil around her shoulders that made her exude a fairy-like aura.

From the black limo that was behind her, which i assumed was hers, a young man exited. He was handsome and looked a lot like the woman. He was wearing expensive looking clothes that were simple but elegant.

"Wow! Don't tell me..."

??: Hey sis, what's the hold up?

Then he noticed me.

??: Oh, hello!

Dyne: Hi!

I greeted him back and then I smiled and turned to the woman.

Dyne: It's that obvious huh?

?: Don't worry about it, you get used to it. Oh I almost forgot! I'm Luna and this is my brother Leo.

She gently put a hand on her chest and then gestured to the man next to her.

"I kinda figured it out but damn they grew up nicely."

The anime showed them as kids and only one scene has them as adults.

Dyne: It's very nice to meet both of you, I'm Dyne.

Luna: By the way Dyne, have we met before? You look really familiar.

I tensed up.

"Oi oi oi! Do the glasses not work with main characters? Yugi didn't notice, so probably not. Still, I don't want to risk it"

It was time for operation 'Cringe and Misdirect'.

Dyne: I- I don't think so. I would definitely have remembered you otherwise.

She smiled but before she could answer, Leo spoke.

Leo: So...are you coming inside or are you gonna keep flirting in front of the entrance?

I would have gotten a bit irritated but I knew he didn't mean anything and was just teasing his sister.

Dyne: If you put it that way...Then I don't mind staying at the entrance.

I grinned and said with a mischievous smile on my face.

He probably didn't expect an answer like that as he looked lost for words.

I laughed a bit and then motioned with my arms like a gentleman to the entrance.

Dyne: But you're right, let's go inside.

Surprise! Guess what, I didn't drop it! Well...working 12 hours a day is kinda tiresome, not to mention I got hooked up with another novel so...yeah. Still, I'll keep writing so don't worry!
