Chapter 7

I nudged his body off my legs, then took a few steps back. I glanced at the shocked expression he wore on his face as his body bled from the head and neck. After a few seconds, I stepped back next to the couch where the lady stood.

"Clean him, and do as she said to his organs." I heard from next to me as people started to move, and I noticed the room was a lot bigger than I had originally thought. There were dozens of people in the shadow that I didn't even notice. I held a cold face waiting for someone to speak to me.

There was a hand on my shoulders as I heard, "You did good, come follow me." I had no choice but to follow. So I followed her out from the basement towards the outside area. She took out a cigar and lighter, as she smoked she passed something to me."Here, call me if you need anything, and you should know what you need to do." She said handing over the phone. I nodded, saying, "Thank you." Marcus had also followed us up the stairs and as she left he walked towards the car. I walked behind him and he opened the trunk first.

He grabbed a shirt and skirt passing them over to me. "Here, your clothes are dirty." He said pointing out the blood on both my shoes and pants. I sighed, taking them before getting in the back seat of the car. He stayed outside till I was done changing and also gave me pair of heels. They were a size bigger but it didn't feel too uncomfortable.

"What do I do with the knife?" I asked once he started driving, he sighed, "Better to keep it away unless you feel you might use it again." His sentence wasn't a question but it felt like one. It made me uneasy since I know I can't escape even if I wanted to. The day I opened that door was the day I lost the right to choose my future.

We arrived back home around 4 in the morning, and although it was a chilly night, I didn't feel anything. I walked up the stairs, and inside the house. It was quiet, peaceful yet I didn't feel any of those emotions in my heart. I felt many sharp jabs of pain strike my heart as I walked into the restroom. I showered quietly and lay in bed with open eyes. From that day, I can't sleep without taking any medicine.
