Chapter 5

I stayed in the car as he suggested, plus what could I even do after getting out of here. I would only be looking for pain, and possibly death. I closed my eyes focusing on the sounds around me, there was the wind blowing in the late autumn season. The leaves on the ground are in different colors. I took in a deep breath then let it out.

There are many things that could happen to me. I could be straight up killed, or be used then killed. I know escaping is useless since they know where I live and can come after my whole family. I just have to keep my mouth shut that's all, I think before opening my eyes and looking around the car.

I looked at the knife on the dashboard, if I have to use it then it is best to clean it up and find a way to prevent my fingerprints from landing there. I sighed using the knife cut a piece of my shirt and firstly used the shirt itself to hold the blade of the knife. Then I used the cut piece with some sanitizer to clean the print area. Once cleaned I warped the piece around the knife holder and held it tightly.

My hair was in a bun so I left it be, by now it had been 20 full minutes since he had left and the time was 2:48, and I was getting sleepy. I opened up the storage compartment hoping to find a bottle of water but there was a box. It was a black velvet box with a lifting top. I was about to check inside when I heard footsteps.

I quickly closed the box before, looking down as if I was tying my shoelace. Marcus used the car keys to open the door on my side and said, "Be quiet and just follow me. Don't talk unless spoken to."

I nodded, and he moved to let me out. He noticed the knife I was carrying but didn't say anything. I understood by doing so he was letting me know it is dangerous and better to be prepared for anything.

"Ohh, who is this cutie Marcus?" I heard from behind us. Marcus didn't stop and neither did I. I sighed the only thing I wanted was to go back home. I wanted to run into my mother's arms and hold the twins and Leo in them as my heartbeat calmed down, but there was no going back. I have been pulled too far into this and there was nothing much I could do.

We continued to the old wear house, it was surrounded by cars and motorbikes. There were people hanging around, smoke filled the air to the entrance as we walked inside. The stench of alcohol, sweat, and cigars filled the air the further we walked. I didn't have to look back to know that the path we created when walking in was already gone.

"This way," Marcus said as he walked towards a door. He opened it to show a set of stairs heading underground. It was dusty, dark, and covered in a horrible stench. I held the knife tightly as we reached the bottom of the steep staircase.
