Chapter 15

They nodded and I took their orders down as usual and turned to the new person asking, "And you sir?" He smiled saying, "A lemonade is fine." I nodded asking, "Does anyone want to add appetizers?" Elliot nodded saying, "The usual, plus some fries." I nodded glancing around before walking away.

The night went by fast and around midnight we finished cleaning the front. I was planning on taking the bus but I noticed Marcus parked at the back and sighed getting into the car.

"Good to see you beautiful," he said, and I glared at him as he laughed. "How's he?" I asked and Marcus held a neutral expression saying, "He passed around 10, I guess 5 was too much." I smirked before saying, "I remember that only half the IV was left so it probably happened much faster than I anticipated."

He sighed asking, "This work, Nyx, do you really want to do this?" I sighed looking out at the cloudy sky saying, "I don't have much of a choice, not anymore at least, so don't worry about it."

He glanced at me before focusing back on the road. The drive home was quite he dropped me off near the bus stop and I walked the rest of the way home. I smiled seeing Leo in the living room sleeping on the couch probably waiting for me after mom left for work.

I sighed going to take a quick shower before walking towards him. I picked him up gently and took him to his room with the twins. I tucked them in again before walking to my room and opening the envelope I got this morning. I looked through the documents of the boy and sighed. "This bitch," was all that popped through my head as I remember the new boy that sat with Elliot who was his son. "Stupid, I need to do better there were so many clues," I though before placing his information away.

Then it came time for the most important thing, the camera footage form Leo's school. I sighed connecting the flash drive to the small laptop before opening up the videos. I watched all of his interactions and then the moment occurred.

Leo was sitting down on the swing not really moving when a kid asked him to get up. Leo didn't budge he stayed on the swing and the kid got aggressive. The two had a minor altercation which ended up with Leo fighting against 3 kids. I sighed knowing that Leo wasn't the most social child never bothered me but seeing him get hurt and the teacher in the background doing nothing does.

I sighed thinking, "I can't cause a problem for him, but what if this continues. I sighed placing the flash drive away and reading over the report the teacher submitted. I became further frustrated when the teacher did not punish the other students but instead wrote Leo for starting the fight.

I took in a deep breath before letting it out and putting the papers away. It was the middle of the semester I could not take Leo out of school just because I wanted to. I sighed laying down on the bed thinking about what I could do.

The best I thought of was to enroll the kids in a self-defense class, this way they wouldn't get beat up badly and next time it happens the teachers would have more to deal with. I sighed placing the kids there would also give mom some time off to relax I grabbed the laptop and searched for nearby classes kids.

I looked through multiple different places before deciding on an afterschool program Taekwondo program for Leo and I would drop the littles one off after school. I also got carious about learning how to fight, it's not like I couldn't kill but learning to use my body was an appealing idea.
