Ep.5

What is alchemy? It is a form of art capable of producing diamonds from coal, literally.

But for most it's an easy way to get money but John wasn't one of them.

"Pleasure doing business with you Mr.Evergreen. I hope we both will be satisfied with the results of our deal."

Zoa finished up the preparations for Johns new house all throughout the night with little time to sleep.

"How soon can we expect elixirs to be prepared to deliver to the M.D.C?"

John gave Zoa the list of materials and smiled as he jiggled around the keys to his new house that could've been called a mansion.

"Once a shipment of these materials reach me I can start right away. I'll take a look around the house."

Zoa sighed in relief and got into his car before driving off.

The interior of the house was astounding. But John was more interested in the alchemy equipment that was stored in the basement.

Magic furnaces, Extraction machines and distillers even a synthesizer for artificial ingredients.

John looked at their manuals while a system notification had appeared for John to see.

-Create an artificial monster pelt using two different species's pelts/hide(0/1)

-Create a new Alchemy Elixir(0/1)

Now with completely new equipment to aid him in his alchemy John could progress at an even faster rate but he needed experience using these machines.

Fortunately there was still Steven Macave and just as John was about to open his laptop to open the online chat with Steven there was a knock at the door.

Upon opening it John saw Steven himself with several crates behind him.

"I hope I'm not intruding. I've brought the ingredients you said to deliver."

John eye'd the crates and found it odd as the needed ingredients weren't big enough to even fill one of the crates halfway but Steven saw Johns suspicion.

"Do not worry, what lies in these crates will be an advanced payment on a new deal if you can truly make those elixirs."

John opened the door before seeing Steven duplicate into multiple stevens which had John stunned.

"That's certainly some skill. Let's get started."

John and one of the Stevens went to the laboratory before John began working at a normal pace, for John that was.

'Whoa he's pretty good. Is he really a fresh hunter?'

John executed the steps flawlessly with no error.

Soon after John started make the elixir Steven asked a question.

"How experienced are you with alchemy? You seem like you have a lot of experience."

John started stirring the elixir ingredients after pounding them into mush while he talked.

"I only awakened two days ago so I'm still fairly new to alchemy. Now it's my turn to ask. Why do you want so many elixirs for yourself? They can-"

Steven interrupted John as he showed a photo of him and a girl.

"They aren't just for me and I know the risks, I want to give some to my sister to protect her."

John was bewildered and turned to Steven while the pot kept brewing.

"You have a sister? No wonder you hardly appear in public. Well that's your own business and what we've talked about here stays between us."

Steven smiled as John poured out the elixirs in front of Stevens eyes to see a satisfied look on Steven.

"Alright I see no reason to doubt that you are the maker of these two elixirs and as I asked before I want 200 strength and 50 healing elixirs."

John handed both of the samples to Steven to see him immediately drink them down to the last drop.

"Yes but once again I must tell you of the risk of catching a Mana Fever if these elixirs are used too often."

Steven found the elixirs taste quite similar to a strawberry smoothie before seeing the bottle disintegrate.

"I am aware of the risks and as I said earlier I've brought my payment in advance as you have shown you have no ill intentions whatsoever."

John followed Steven back upstairs where there was still two large shipping crates before Steven opened them both.

"In these cases there are various alchemy resources that I've been stockpiling, they should prove beneficial to your work."

As John peeked into the crate John saw dozens upon dozens of ingredients and other materials.

Magma Iron, Tears of the undead, lizard queen eyes and many more but not only was John grateful to work with new ingredients but also the fact that even laying eyes on them was giving John skill experience.

John was eager to see what new toys he had to play with but remembered Steven was standing in front of him.

"Once you deliver the necessary items for your elixirs than I'll get started right away."

Steven gave a nod before pulling out his phone.

"I'll have the ingredients delivered to your door by tomorrow morning. I'll ask to keep me updated should anything come up"

Soon after Steven left John got to work transporting his new goods down to the lab. But after everything was indeed put away for later use John sat down and looked at his new things of interest.
