Chapter Three : She is Exquisite.

"Distinguished Ladies and gentlemen, welcome once again to the 30th annual BMNW award night" the MC said cheerfully..

"Without further ado, help me welcome our patron of the night, The chairman and president of the sentinel group of companies Mr Edwards" the MC announced receiving a warm applause and standing ovation for the old patron as he walked robustly to the podium..

"Do you need me to run a background check on them" kelvin whispered to Davin while gesticulating with his jaw towards Kathryn's direction..

"What for?" Davin asked absentmindedly as he ran his pointy fingers on his phone while answering some mails.

Grunting kelvin asked "oh please don't tell me you are working at a time like this" but was only met with silence from his ever busy brother.

Finally done with his phone, He gracefully lifted the glass of red wine up to his lips, taking in the bouquet of the intricate aromas as a small smile slowly spread across his face.

He paused before taking the first sip, savoring the moment and letting the anticipation build. Finally, after an eternity of seconds, he took a deep sip of the wine, letting the flavors and complexities of the flavors transport him to a world of luxury.

This little ritual of his didn't go unnoticed from the woman beside their table as most of them gasped in awe at how elegantly he drank the wine.

He continued to sip his wine majestically oblivious of the ruckus he was causing,while his mind would more than he would like to admit, drift to the image of the woman with a giant Phoenix tattoo on her back..

'She was beautiful, he wasn't gonna lie.....who was he kidding, she was exquisite,he admitted, but there was something about her that seemed mysterious and somewhat defensive' he thought as he he gently sipped his wine

"Now moving on to the next and most anticipated category, 'the CEO of the year award', a lot of companies have done so well this year that I can't help but wonder if we would have an upset this time....

Without further ado, please project for our audience the winner for this year CEO Award"

the MC said.

Every of the guest fixed their eyes on the big screen waiting and anticipating who the winner would be..

The hall was enveloped with a pin drop silence when the screen showed the 'winners' of the CEO award, shock and surprise was written in almost everyone faces,no one could believe their eyes..

"A rockie, what the hell?" One of the business moguls cussed.

"How is this even possible?" Another asked bewildered.

"He is barely a few years in the industry and he is winning the most prestigious award, there must be a mistake somewhere" one veteran business mogul said slightly raising his voice like a sly fox trying to be curry favor with Davin who was only an earshot away from his table.

Some businessmen and women around his table were waiting patiently to see his reaction only for Davin to look ahead at the podium with a sly smile on his face..

'All of you should be ashamed that a rockie from nowhere moved up the echelon to me' he said in his mind pretending to not see the surprised faces of people around him.

"Well well well, for the first time in a very long while, we have a tie on the result, meaning two CEO's won the prestigious award, without further ado ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage President Davin and CEO Arthur" The MC said cheerfully...

Davin in all his glory stood like Adonis the Greek God,and strode leisurely to the stage,behind him was Kelvin his brother.

Arthur strengthened to his full length, flashed his Mr nice guy smile all the while walking gracefully to the podium....

"I could give anything to see them walk the runway" one of the women said dazely.

"Its illegal to be this gorgeous as a man"another chipped in.

"Such sight for sore eyes,I definately don't regret coming with my father tonight for the show" another said...

"I would give anything to have either of the three in the bedroom" another said hushly.

Katherine snickered "annoying" she said pressing the center between her eyes visibly irritated...

"Such shamelessness" Rebecca said sipping her wine gracefully..

The two handsome men walked up to the podium, light shining from the stage directly onto their faces as the crowd of guest applauded their achievements.

They stood confidently with their heads held high, each step echoing through the auditorium.

They nodded in acknowledgment to the crowd as they accepted the awards. Then stood for few minutes to answer the questions of the MC.

"Being the only person to have won the prestigious award for the past 9yrs in a row, winning another one tonight, what do you have to say president Davin, to this new milestone" the MC asked..

"Nothing much, just doing my job" he answered curtly in his deep husky voice that made the ladies present have a mini outrageous fantasy..

"So are you suprised as we all were, that you are sharing tonight award with a new face in the industry" the MC asked..

There was undertone in his speech that did not seat well with Davin,his tone and question was outright condescending..

Davin looked into the audience seated in the huge hall,his mind was searching for something or someone,precisely a pair of hazel eyes, finding his target he was amused to see an annoyed look on her face...

"I believe the 'new face' in the industry has a name,no?" He asked looking directly at the MC who gave a nervous laugh while nodding .

"Answering your question, I don't need to share the award with him because it wasn't mine to begin with,or are you saying it was specifically kept for me every year regardless of the inputs from other companies?" Davin throw another question at the MC who was already fidgeting under the scrutiny of Davin..

"No no, president Davin,that is not what I mean" he answered wiping out cold sweats off of his brows..

Davin looked at him for awhile before looking back at the pair of hazel eyes, surprisingly she wore an indifferent look,how many expression can she have in a night, he wondered unconsciously before he continued with his speech.

"I am not suprised that another capable CEO achieved a milestone that non of my predecessors here could achieve" he said smirking...

"So in a nutshell,I am very impressed " he said finally extending his hands to Arthur which the latter readily accepted , before leaving the podium same way he came,unhurriedly...

Kelvin collected the award on his behalf and walked off to their table..
