Chapter Four : god of the wall street.
"Congratulations, CEO Arthur on winning this year's prestigious award,what do you have to say for yourself" the MC asked more respectfully this time.
"Well thank you my fellow businessmen and women and everyone who voted,but I don't think I deserve this praise.
if you dont mind please help me welcome the President and Founder of Star Corporation Ms Kathryn and her vice president Ms Rebecca,they are the brains behind the operations and success of our company and these award belong to them" he said cheerfully...
'Kathryn' Davin said in his mind.....'gorgeous name' he thought..
Looking at his stoic face,no one could ever imagine that the aloof President will ever think a lady to be gorgeous...
Kathryn wore a devious smile and stood like a tall glass of red wine, every inch of her was perfect, Rebecca rose after her, flashing her charming smile, the elegance and grace of both ladies made a mockery of the miss world status...They were divine.
There was a loud murmur as both ladies made their way to the podium gracefully..
"He wasnt the CEO?" one the Business men said.
"beauty and brains, my type of woman" another said.
"they practically appeared out of nowhere and they are the owners of Star Corp?" another asked in bewilderment
Some ladies where green with envy at both ladies for taking the attention of all the men in the hall, even the cold CEO's in the hall were hypnotized..
Recovering from their daze, some young grandsons of some business tycoons started taking pictures of Kathryn's clad black with the Phoenix tattoo and made a post on their social media, causing a wave of traffic on the internet...
Reaching the podium Kathryn and Rebecca were received by Arthur who stared at them with admiration...
Facing the huge audience kathryn gave another hypnotising smile from her collection...
Causing another wave of murmur and gasps in the hall...
"I present to you all,ladies and gentlemen, the founder and president of Star corporation Ms Kathryn again" Arthur said as he handed the award to her and urging her to say something..
"Good evening everyone, and thanks to everyone that voted...we are grateful,its truly an honor to share this podium with some of the greats in the industry" she said as she sweeped her gaze through the huge audience..
"Such a lovely voice" Kelvin said smiling while Davin shot him a deadly glare..
"What?" Kelvin asked..
"Keep quiet" Davin said as he looked back to the podium..
'You are busy working all this while,now you want to act like you were interested before' kelvin berated Davin in his mind..
"This was our dream for the past six years, to be recognized, we are happy that we have achieved it tonight, thank you once again" she said as she slightly bowed to the audience...
Arthur held both ladies by the arm as they Walked down the podium to their seats,amidst the stares and glares of the women and men in the hall..
Clearing his throat the MC had to bring the attention of the audience to the podium to continue with award ceremony...
"Alright ,moving on to the next prestigious category which is the company of the year award, and the winner is" the MC said looking at the large Screen at his back, he stiffened a few seconds before announcing the winner
"Star Corporation wins the best company of the year award,FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER A CENTURY, A COMPANY WITH FEW YEARS IN THE INDUSTRY WINS THE PRESTIGIOUS AWARD, HISTORY IS MADE, CONGRATULATIONS STAR CORPORATION!!!" he announced enthusiastically...
A loud applause reved in the hall as Kathryn made her way to the podium for the second time that night..
Didn't linger much, she thanked the MC, the organizers and her fellow business moguls after which she collected her award and gracefully walked down to her seat ..
"Definately my woman of the year" kelvin said dreamily..
"Deduct 30% from everyone's salary in the company starting from next month,including yours" Davin said nonchalantly..
Recovering from his reverie, he balled his eyes out "what? Why?" Kelvin asked exasperated..
"Do I need to spell it out for you" Davin asked frostily before walking out to the podium to collect his second award of the night 'Ceo of the Decade'...
He went on to win several prestigious award that night viz 'company of the decade' personality of the year' 'peoples choice award' 'philanthropist of the year' 'businesses man of the year' 'business man of the decade'
" wow, just wow" Rebecca said amazed at how many awards Zetrov conglomerate won that night....
"That's a company to beat" Arthur said seriously..
"We can't beat that" Rebecca said in a whisper..
"I mean,have u seen their statistics and data, it is out of this world" Rebecca said in all honesty..
"May be not now but in a few years, say 5yrs more" Arthur reasoned..
"I don't have 5yrs to wait around and see if we can beat Zetrov before Carlos comes for me" Kathryn said sighing..
"And besides, I don't want to beat them, not like we can even in 20 years" Kathryn continued...
"Then what is the plan" Rebecca asked...
"Make them our business allies" Kathryn said smirking as she sipped her wine looking at the direction where Davin sat,coincidentally they both looked at eachother simultaneously..
Pretty much turned to a staring competition real quick before Davin looked away....
'That's what I thought' Kathryn said in her mind.
"Elaborate" Arthur said taking a glass of wine from the waiter passing by...
"Partnership" Kathryn said
"Its not gonna happen" Arthur said seriously while Kathryn raised an eye brow urging for an explanation..
"Zetrov hasn't accepted partnership with another company for the past 5years, and even if they would, they are the ones that choose the type of company to partner or collaborate with not the other way round" Arthur said in one breath..
"That's giving god complex, as though they are doing you a favor" Rebecca reasoned more like a sentence than a question...
Arthur nodded "Davin is a ruthless devil in the business world,earning him the name god of the wall street, every decision or indecision he makes impacts the financial market"
Listening to everything Arthur had to say about Zetrov,made her more determined to have Zetrov in her corner even if its for few months..
"Rebecca I need you to prepare an iron clad proposal by next month, we either get a partnership or collaboration, am not taking no for an answer" Kathryn said determined while Rebecca nodded.
Laying back on her chair she sighed "besides we need to quicken our plans" Kathryn whispered...
Understanding the underlying meaning behind her words, Arthur sent a text to their head of security, ordering for urgent screening meeting 7am tomorrow....
"Will you be going for the after party at Zetrov's de la creme ?" Rebecca asked wiggling her eye brows...
For some reason she really want Kathryn to get together with President Davin,that's the only one she thinks that has enough power to protect her sister...
"Whats with that sinister smile and why are u wiggling your brows" Kathryn asked amused at Rebecca reaction..
"So,we are going right" Rebecca pressed giving her her best puppy eyes, causing Kathryn to laugh out loud...
"I can't believe you are giving me that puppy look in public" Kathryn said stifling her laugh..
"Anyway, we will be going" Kathryn said smiling...
