Chapter two : Who is She?
Watching them strode so elegantly on the red carpet, was a sight for sore eyes.
They were exuding refinement and grace.
Seeing the banks brothers in the flesh, naturally sent the reporters into frenzy, there reaction was so crazy, the bodyguards had to force the reporters to the sides..
Davin was almost at the brink of losing his composure when the reporters simultaneously gasped.....
Meanwhile.....
"Boss we are here" The driver said..
"Its not too late to change your mind you know, that way Carlos won't find you" Arthur said seriously..
"That's the point Arthur I want him to find me, I can't run or hide forever and am sure as hell not going to cower anymore" Kathryn said seriously.....
"I spent the last six years of my life hiding and thriving to build star Corp for a moment like this, for a stage like this.....if you think for a second that I would run after enduring hardship this past years then you don't know me well" Kathryn said with gritted teeth.
Visibly angry on remembering what she passed through to get to this level..
Arthur panicked when he saw kathryn sad eyes...
"Am so sorry, i didn't mean to be insensitive...all I just want is for you to be safe" he said with pleading eyes.
She smiled at his meek action, he was always seen as a ruthless cold business man but with them, he always was such a big teddy bear....
She felt bad for scolding him, and she knew he was right...
Coming out in a place like this, and in front of reporters from different media companies will definately put her in Carlos's radar, but she was willing to risk it if it will give her the chance of taking Carlos down..
"Its ok" she said
Sensing that Kathryn was no longer pissed, he touched up his bow tie, flashing his signature smile he said "well ladies, shall we"
"Thought you'd never ask" rebecca said.
As they made their way out of the rolls Royce ..
The moment they stepped into the venue the crowd erupted with excitement as Kathryn, rebecca and Arthur stepped onto the red carpet.
Reporters swarmed around them, pressing them with questions and vying for their attention.
Cameras literally captured every move they made, every step they took while they gracefully made her way down the red carpet,
The luminous beauty and grace brought the crowd into a different shade of frenzy.
Katryn smiled and held her head high as she continued her journey, leaving a lasting impression in the minds of her admirers including Davin who was as affected by her charm as everyone else,difference was you couldn't see it on his face.
"Why are they screaming" Kathryn whispered into Arthur's ears.
"Have you seen you two?" He asked amused at her question.
Hand in hand they made their way out of the red carpet, with both ladies on either side of Arthur. He was the envy of all the men at the event.
Kathry chuckled when she saw the cold and indifferent expression on Arthur's face.
"Why is your face like that?" She asked even though she had an inkling of why he was putting on a cold countenance...
"This is my normal face" he said looking puzzled at her .
"You are such a bad liar" Rebecca chipped in as they posed for the camera.
"Good evening Mr Arthur, welcome to the thirtieth Annual BMNW award night" one of the reporters said earning a nod from Arthur, taking that as his cue,he fired the first question.
"Mr Arthur you must be very delighted to be nominated in eight categories in a single calendar year, second only to President Davin who got twelve in his debut year, what was your motivation" the reporter asked.
"My motivation is not a what but a who, we weren't born into affluence so we had to work our socks off for these past years to get this recognition, so yeah...I am really proud of what we have achieved" he said.
To the reporters present, his wording sounded like he was indirectly saying that President Davin recognition were as a result of his affluent background, but no one dared to ask the burning questions.
Sensing that Arthur was in a good mood, another reporter fired another question.
"Mr Arthur do you think, your company stands a chance to win an award tonight,given that your company is going head to head with Zetrov Conglomerate in all eight categories you were nominated?" The young reporter asked.
There was a brief silence before Arthur smiled and said...
"Getting nominated alongside companies that have been around for decad and centuries is the win I needed, getting the award or not will not change anything for me tonight.."
On hearing his response Kathryn and Rebecca simultaneously smiled ...Kathryn particularly was proud of how far he had come.
"If you dont mind Mr Arthur can you introduce us to the beautiful ladies alongside you tonight" one reporter boldly asked the question that had been lingering on everyone's mind..
"You and every other person in the country will know after to night, there is no need for me to spoil the fun....let's keep the suspense going a little bit longer shall we" Arthur said smiling deviously before walking pass the reportes and into the huge ball room.
From the moment they entered the red carpet and the time they stood for the interview, Kathryn felt a pair of eyes on her, it was different from everyone else's..
She pretended to be oblivious of the fact but alas he or she was a looker...so left with no choice she raised my face to catch who it was...
She was met with a pair of beautiful green eyes,that had to be the most beautiful eyes she have ever seen. His eyes were like a tropical rainforest - lush and vibrant with a million secrets.
The chandelier illuminated his eyes, casting a golden aura around them that made them look like they were glowing with a mystical power. His gaze was captivating, and she held it for awhile before he shifted his gaze to the reporters in front of him.....Kathryn smirked before looking away..
Meanwhile....
"Who are they?" Kelvin asked to no one in particular.
"That Phoenix tat on her back has to be the most gorgeous tattoo I have ever seen" kelvin said again while Davin grunted...obviously displeased with his incessant chatter.
"Let's go in" Davin said leaving behind the half dazed kelvin.
